This is more of an improvement than anything; but I noticed in the storage boxes that there is a button to unselect all but not to select all and I was trying to figure out why. So this is simply a suggestion to add a select all button.

I don't know where and when Riako said that - so I don't have proof or anything, sorry for that - but I'm fairly sure he once explained that there isn't a 'select all' button simply to avoid accidentely selecting a (or even more) Pokémon you didn't want to select (because it was put in that box by accident or whatever) and then release it.
