Chapter 0: Prologue

His eyes narrowed. "Lunarstar! Watch out!" he heard a cat screech. "Stay away from my sister!" the tom yowled, leaping at a red-brown tabby. "Windwhisker no!" the she-cat who spoke before him yowled. A light ginger she-cat pelted over to Lunarstar. "Are you alright?" she mewed. "Rosepaw? Why- No time for questions, let's just get away before Leopardwing comes after you."

Windwhisker padded after Rosepaw. "So, Darkpool, how are you?" the she-apprentice asked, trying to lighten the mood. "I hear you're expecting Embertooth's kits again. I'm happy for you. I just wish I could stay in MoonClan to get to see them..." Windwhisker playfully shoved the apprentice. "Isn't that why you're here? To get away from EclipseClan?" he asked. Rosepaw cheekily grinned at him. "Well, we're almost back to camp. We'll discuss this more later. Rest in the apprentices' den, or with Darkpool or Jaggedtooth. They'll be quite lonesome."

Sans stood above the human. His hand glowed bright blue. "Last words, kid?" he demanded. "I'm not joking around." The human pointed to something behind Sans. "Like I'm going to fall for your jokes, you're gonna kill me with that blade of yours." He looked behind himself anyway, then yelped. He grabbed the human with his levitation magic and threw them to the other side of the room.

"What is that?" He slowly approached it, and before he could back away, he was thrown around in the air. "Let go of me!" he shrieked, summoning a Gaster Blaster and trying to blow it up. "No! Sans don't do it!" he heard Papyrus yell. "P...Papyrus?" he asked. "I...I thought you were dead..." "Sans! Get out of there!" Undyne's voice yelled. Sans struggled. But nothing worked. "Uh oh," he said, getting sucked inside of the portal thing.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 1: Separation

Lunarstar was grooming the fur of a pale gold she-cat who reminded her of Rosepaw. "So who are you, and where did you come from?" the MoonClan Leader asked, as friendly as she could after pausing her grooming. "I'm Alphys, and I come from a place called the Underground." Lunarstar tilted her head. "Don't think I've ever heard of it. Would you like me to get you some fresh-kill? We can discuss this later in my den if you so wish." Alphys dipped her head. "Thank you, but I think I'd like to get some rest."

Lunarstar decided to guide Alphys to the Elders' den, where Rosepaw was searching Jaggedtooth's pelt for ticks. "Honestly, Jaggedtooth, it seems like ticks stopped going for Wildflower and are after you now. I think Darkpool would not approve," the tabby mewed jokingly. Alphys tilted her head and glanced over at Lunarstar. "Hey, Jaggedtooth, Rosepaw. I want you two to welcome Alphys. She'll be either resting here, or in the Nursery." Rosepaw gave a friendly grin and Jaggedtooth stared around, trying to figure out where Alphys was.

"Hey, Lunarstar, bring Alphys over wouldya? Can't see, remember?" Jaggedtooth asked, causing Rosepaw to laugh quietly. Alphys poked Jaggedtooth's nose gently with a paw -- claws sheathed. "Hiya, I'm Alphys. If you want, we can be friends, right?" she mewed. Jaggedtooth smiled in a friendly way. "Of course." Lunarstar laughed -- but in a friendly way. This day was going well, even if she had yet to figure out about the Underground.

Sans was growling at a dark brown cat with grey eyes. "I told you, I don't know who 'Silver' is and why I'd ever want to steal her kits or prey! Heck, why would I want your stupid food?" The blue-grey cat backed up as the much larger cat approached. C'mon...Why did I have to lose my powers after traveling here? Think...What would Papyrus do? Sans glared up at him and scratched the ground below him with a claw. "So...you really want to have a bad time, eh?" he asked. The dark brown cat was silent.

"Then I'll give ya a bad time."

Chapter 2: EclipseClan's Unwelcomeness

Papyrus shrunk back away from a reddish brown tabby. "St-Stay back!" the light grey and ginger cat yowled. Undyne unsheathed her claws. "And let us out of here while you're at it." The hazel-eyed red-brown cat snickered. "Won't our leader be pleased to see you..." Suddenly, a large golden tabby stepped forward. "Alright, brother, stop teasing our guests. Rainstar wouldn't be pleased, especially after Skyfall killed Snowfall in battle."

Suddenly, a tiny silver tabby with black stripes approached. He wasn't much taller than a dark grey she, so Papyrus had to refrain from laughing. Then he saw an ugly wound on the cat's back. Obviously from some battle or something. "Well, well, well...We have, whatever the Dark Forest thinks these two are..." Undyne snarled at him. "So, you're Rainstar, huh?" she asked. Rainstar smirked.

"That's me," he mewed. Papyrus's fur began to fluff out. "Why are we here then?" the cat from the Underground demanded. Undyne sunk her claws into the ground and stared coldly at Rainstar. "Let's go, Papyrus, we need to find Alphys and Sans and find a way home," she whispered. Papyrus nodded and he growled at Rainstar, as if he was going to start a fight. "Alright then, fight me!" Rainstar yowled. Cats from all around camp started running at Papyrus and Undyne. "Go!" the dark grey she that Papyrus saw earlier shrieked.

Papyrus and Undyne hurried out of EclipseClan camp. "I coulda fought 'em off... But I guess we can do whatever," she muttered. Suddenly, a cat clambered out. She was a fluffy blue-grey tabby with hazel eyes. "Warriors are so stupid. It wasn't this bad when I was a RiverClan Warrior," she growled before looking up at Papyrus and Undyne. "If you'll allow me to, I'd like to travel to MoonClan with you. At the last Gathering, which was yesterday, Lunarstar said she was sheltering a cat named Alphys. I think you might know her..."

"Alphys? Wait...so this Lunarstar cat knows our friend! Papyrus this is awesome! It means all we have to do is get to MoonClan and then we will have to find Sans! Thank you so much...err..." The blue-grey tabby smiled. "Silvermask is my name. I'm EclipseClan's new Medicine Cat after Snowfall -- our Medicine Cat and Deputy -- died." Undyne grinned. "Then let's go!"

(Feel free to imagine this playing.)

The dark brown cat leapt at Sans, who swiftly leapt out of the way. "You gotta be faster than me!" he taunted, throwing himself onto his hind legs and trying to claw at the other tom. The dark brown cat shrunk back, his pelt fluffed out. Sans dropped back onto all fours, realizing how hard it was to stand on two legs now.

The brown cat dove forward and slashed at Sans's neck. Luckily he had a large amount of neck fur, so only clumps of pale grey fur fell off. "Eh? Why so thick of a pelt?" the cat fighting Sans demanded. Suddenly, two silver she-cats -- one was a tabby with brown eyes, the other was pale non-tabby with green eyes with grey and black patches -- appeared. "Snarl! Why are you attacking him? He didn't do anything to you, I don't believe!" the tabby meowed loudly.

While Sans was distracted with looking at the she-cats in confusion, he hadn't realized that Snarl -- he assumed Snarl was the brown cat -- had left him with several chest and arm wounds, along with scratch along his cheek. "Oh look at the awful condition you're in!" shrieked one of the she-cats, licking his wounds. Sans noticed she was the one with green eyes, but she had a collar that matched her eyes. "Who are you? And why did you come to help?" Sans asked confusedly.

"The one licking your wounds is Leli. She's a house cat who hunts for us when we can't. I'm Silver, and I'm pretty sure you can tell why. And the other cat, that's Snarl, my mate." Sans nearly asked how a kind cat like her would like a rude cat like him. As soon as Leli finished licking his shoulder wounds, she tilted her head. "You have blue-grey fur...Like one of the Clan cats out there, hey wasn't her name like Lunastar or something?" she mewed. Silver laughed. "I'm pretty sure it was Lunarstar." Sans felt uncomfortable around these cats. Besides, he still needed to go find Alphys, Papyrus, and Undyne. And at the rate he was going, he was never going to find them.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 3: Shy Away in MoonClan

Amberfur dropped some fresh-kill by Alphys, Darkpool, and Rosepaw. "Lunarstar will be back in camp soon. I'm about to go on patrol and Frostpool's out collecting herbs. Nighttail's in charge," she called, leaving the nursery. Alphys sighed. "What's wrong, Alphy?" Rosepaw asked. Alphys looked away and took a bite of her fresh-kill. "Take something to Jaggedtooth for me soon, okay?" she asked.

Alphys closed her brown eyes after finishing eating the small mouse and tried to sleep. But her eyes shot open as she saw Darkpool and Rosepaw standing up, fur fluffed out in annoyance. "What's up?" Alphys asked, padding over to them. Rosepaw gestured with her tail to Silvermask and two cats, at first, Alphys didn't recognize. Then she saw a distinct ginger pattern that could only mean one thing.

"Papyrus! Undyne!" Alphys yowled, running over to them. "Alphys?" Undyne asked, ears flattened back. "It really is you!" Alphys touched her nose to Undyne's cheek and did the same with Papyrus. "Where's Sans?" she asked. Papyrus tilted his head. "Sans? We haven't seen him at all..." The three friends were quiet. "Alright. Well, I woke up here in MoonClan, so uh...um... Maybe we should look for Sans."

Leli sighed. "There's also something oddly familiar about him. Whatever it is, I might travel with him 'til he gets home." Leli licked one of her paws and drew it over her ear. "That cheek scratch looks kinda gross. Let me help you with that," she mewed, licking the paw pad of that same paw and carefully dabbed it at his cheek.

If Sans's face wasn't covered in thick blue-grey fur, he would probably be blushing. He didn't feel comfortable currently, but he figured this was normal. "So, where are we heading off to?" Silver asked. "Uh...um, maybe to that Clan, what is it?" Leli tilted her head. "MoonClan? Why'd they ever be there? If anything, I can see EclipseClan catching them. I guess we should just go to MoonClan first, though, they're more peaceful."

"Alright, let's go."

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 4: Fight

A swift yowl broke Sans out of his excitement. "EclipseClan attack!" a silver tabby yowled. "Oh no! They're attacking the Twolegplace! C'mon, Silver, Snarl, we have to do something!" Leli screeched, pelting toward EclipseClan. Silver stayed in place. "Silver, go find somewhere safe in case your kits come early," Snarl mewed, then gestured with his tail for Sans to follow.

Sans felt a weird sense of strength when he was running. Almost like he could reach his powers again. At the back of his mind he tried to reach them, but couldn't. He skidded to a halt. Silhouettes of black cats trying to fight the very swift warriors could be seen. There weren't very many EclipseClan cats for some reason. "Strange," Leli commented, looking at the size of EclipseClan.

"How many cats are fighting out there?" Snarl demanded. "It appears there are three smaller cats -- apprentices, and five larger cats -- Rainstar, his deputy, and three warriors. So eight cats total, which I assume is virtually the entire Clan, except their Medicine Cat," Leli mewed smartly. Snarl rolled his eyes and dove in toward the battle.

Alphys -- of her own free will -- took Papyrus and Undyne hunting to show gratitude for the Clan that had sheltered her. Silvermask was helping Frostpool and Nighttail gather herbs. Undyne scented the air. "No scent of prey," she reported, "but I can smell blood, and cats. I think we should go check it out." Alphys nodded and she and Papyrus followed Undyne toward the battle. And that was when they saw him.

A/N: Oooh, I left a nice cliffhanger there huh? Well, who do you think they saw? HINT: He made an appearance or mention in it. [ex. Leopardwing could be 'his deputy', Rainstar yowled and was mentioned by Leli, etc.]

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 5: Reunited too Early

Sans thought he saw them. "Undyne! Alphys! Papyrus!" he called. He must've attracted unwanted attention from the EclipseClan cats. They, one by one, started looking toward him. "Hey, that cat knows something!" a young she-cat mewed, racing toward the large blue-grey tom and hooking her claws into his pelt. He tried shaking her off of him, but she held on to his thick pelt. "Get off me, flower-for-brains!" he hissed, swiping a paw -- with unsheathed claws -- at the apprentice.

Leli bounded over and dragged the apprentice off of Sans. "Go! I'll hold her back!" the kittypet yowled, whirling around to snarl at the young she-cat. Sans leapt off to go find Undyne, Alphys, and his brother. "Sans!" Papyrus squealed, sitting on his hind paws and attempted at hugging Sans, which ended up with the two of them falling over.

"Papyyyyrus!" Undyne complained, helping the two toms up. "Y'know, the way that cat, silver one with grey and black, she reminds me of someone I once knew...She was in the Royal Guard, and her name was-" Sans cut off Undyne's speech. "Was her name...Leli?" Undyne tilted her head and nodded, and Sans gasped.

"So...Leli was trapped here...for who KNOWS HOW LONG!" he yowled, digging his claws into the ground and running back into the battle. Papyrus grunted and followed, Alphys and Undyne following close behind. It seemed like a forever and a half when EclipseClan finally retreated. Snarl had left to go find Silver, and Leli said goodbye to the Twolegplace kittypets. So that's when Sans asked.

"You're from the Underground, aren't you?"

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 6: His Game

Leli was surprised. Why would Sans of all people -- no, cats -- ask that? "Well...you see I um..." Undyne looked over at Sans. "Chill out Sans, I know what you're about to do. Don't fling Leli all the way to the top of the nearest mountain." Sans rolled his blue eyes, but looked over at Leli. Her ears were tilted toward something.

"I hear something," she mewed, slowly backing away and gesturing with her tail for the four to follow her. Sans raced over to her, with Undyne following him swiftly. Papyrus and Alphys moved slower, but still kept up. Sans heard it now. "It sounds like...buzzing," Papyrus mewed before suddenly, a fire broke out in front of them.

"Oh no," Alphys whimpered, backing up. Sans glared at the fire. "It's bright green, hey let me try something," he growled. He approached it and shoved a paw into the flames. He was shivering, but no pain from the fire. "Hey, we can move right through it!" he called. Alphys approached, he golden-ginger pelt glowing bright teal. She leapt right into the green harmless fire. "Hey! You're right!"

Soon, Papyrus, Undyne, and Leli had followed Alphys closely behind. "Hurry up, lazybones!" Papyrus called. "Wow, no need to throw a hissy fit, Papyrus!" Sans meowed, walking through the fire to his brother. "Urrgh! SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANS!" Papyrus yowled. Leli laughed. "Well, the buzzing appears to be behind us, so I assume it was the fire," she mewed.

"Well, what do we do now?" Alphys asked.

"Try to find a way home?" (Papyrus)

"Murder EclipseClan?" (Undyne)

"Let's NOT attack EclipseClan, and instead chuck Undyne onto the mountain!" (Leli)

"I second that." (Sans)

That's when they heard the gentle pounding of feet or paws hitting the ground, and the low growl saying, "Well hello there!"

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.

Chapter 7: Traitors and Former Friends

Leli whipped around and snarled. Sans turned around slowly, with Undyne tense as she turned her head swiftly. Alphys let Papyrus lead her a few steps forward. "This might not be our battle. Besides, I don't think the two of us could fight as well as Undyne, Sans, and Leli if it came down to it," he whispered. The two were watching from a tree.

"And who might you be?" Leli questioned, staring at the opposing tom's face. "Well, Leli, I thought you'd recognize me. Guess not. Well, anyway, the name's Oliver." Leli's eyes narrowed as he said that. "Well, Oliver, if I do know you, where do I know you from?!"

"Ah, I would say but-" Oliver started, but was immediately cut off by being thrown into the air. "Sans! Your powers are back!" Papyrus called from the tree. Sans rolled his eyes and threw Oliver at the ground. Sans's paw -- which had just been glowing bright blue -- then whipped to the right, and up, causing Oliver to move that direction forcefully.

Leli looked toward the green fire. It was a fox-length away. She edged toward the green blaze and shoved her entire body inside the fire. She hadn't been in long enough the first time for the change, but now she could return her powers with ease. She felt the fire searing her fur, burning off her collar, replacing it with something attaching her front and back legs. She forgot how painful it was to do this and she didn't remember the last time she did this.

She stepped out of the fire feeling much better without the collar. She saw Sans still messing around with his powers, torturing Oliver as the brown tom tried to escape. Leli sighed and rolled her eyes. She was about to jump, but remembered she could fly-glide. She leapt onto her hind legs and leapt upward with them, immediately going into the air. It was hard keeping herself up -- she hadn't done this in a while -- but she managed. "Sans! Stop that! If you kill him what happens? Timeline change?" she called, landing on Oliver's head.

"Leli? Is that-" Sans stopped talking and reluctantly let Oliver go. "Did you finally figure out, Leli?" Oliver demanded, shaking Leli off his head. The she-cat shook her head. "Sorry, I didn't." Oliver sighed, narrowing his bright purple eyes. "Should've figured. Well anyway, Mono's calling for me, probably asking me to head back to the portal. I think you guys should check it out. Vin says it led to this weird pillar place that-" Oliver was once again cut off.

"Wait... Lead us to the portal! I was in a pillar room before I was sent to this place! Papyrus! Alphys! C'mon! Undyne, we might finally be able to get home!" Sans looked so happy and excited, but Undyne, Leli, and Oliver looked concerned. But then Oliver nodded. "Alright then, follow me," he said once Alphys and Papyrus had arrived.

"And then we can see if this portal really leads to your home."

Well, this is it. The first story is almost over. But I must throw in a twist that no one would ever suspect. Also, for those wondering, fire-affected Leli looks like this. Feel free to post now, since I don't really care much. Just 2-4 more chapters and we can end the first book. 2nd one will be on Wattpad.

There's nothing more beautiful than the rain.
