"What wild Pokemon could have made it past these doors?" Ninjito
asked himself as he looked. Whatever it was was either pretty
powerful or just an abra who had used teleport. "Let's go in
Riolu."
Torchic went down the path and realized it was a dead end.
"Chic-torchic." He said which would translate to,"Dead end."
Taiyou sighed and turned back to go the other way.
Riolu pushed the doors apart and walked in. The waves were so
strong now that he was beginning to get a slight headache. He hoped
he'd be better at dealing with this when he evolved.
Torchic still smelled the strong presence and tried to warn him
master by pecking him on the head.
Ninjito began to get a gut feeling that it wasn't an abra who they
were going too. "Are you sure we shouldn't get backup Riolu?" He
asked as he looked around warily.
"Torchic, n-oowwww..." Taiyou said. He facepalmed at his partner's
apparent lack of common sense and began to walk down the
tunnel.
Riolu nodded that he was sure, then decided that nodding could have
meant either yes, he was sure they didn't need backup or yes, they
should get backup. He hoped Nijito understood. Regardless, he
wanted to try to do this with just himself and Nijito.
Torchic faceclawed himself a this partners apparent lack of common
scents. He followed after him protectively.
"No backup?" Ninja to said skeptically." We'll I trust your ability
to read how powerful the aura is so ok." He started walking in the
direction that they had been going.
Riolu nodded again and proceeded to walk through the doorway.
This forbidden area was from a time long ago and was riddled with
traps, as if to protect something, though no two stories had the
same idea of what.
Ignoring his partner, whom Taiyou now believed to be 72% insane,
the Aura Guardian in training continued down the path and found
that it led outside, to the other kingdoms. "See?" Taiyou asked.
"Nothing to worry about." Suddenly the floor cracked, and he fell
through to a deeper floor of the cavern.
(Not sure if that was intentional, but "common scents" was an epic
pun. XD)
"Okay, I get why you were freaking out now," Taiyou muttered. He
wondered how long it would take to get to the stage where they
could communicate via telepathy with one another so Torchic's
warnings would actually be helpful. Then again, it would take a
while to bond enough for that when neither of them could
understand the other...
Taiyou wondered if Torchic had ever thought him 73% stupid.
Riolu nodded, and tried to sense traps, but the waves he sensed
were overpowering, and he couldn't use his aura to sense anything
else. He turned back and shook his head, hoping Nijito would know
it meant he couldn't and not that there were no traps.
"What an idiot. Definitely 72% stupid." Torching though as he
looked around for a new stick to light on fire.
"No traps yet? This will be easier than I thought then." He said as
he walked through the hallway. "I thought this place would have
better protection am I riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!!" He said as he
tripped over a brick sticking out of the ground.
Riolu facepalmed, but darted over to try (and, due to being so
tiny, fail) to help Nijito up.
Taiyou felt his way over to a wall. "Torchic, we can't see, but we
can feel the walls to guide ourselves. Just be careful not to trip
on anything."
Riolu shook his head, but couldn't explain further with sign
language.
Taiyou thanked Torchic and walked along the wall to try to make it
through the mazelike cavern.
Riolu tried to send a signal with aura to the presence he felt and
make it stop sending waves all over the place so he could sense the
traps. He failed to make said signal.
Taiyou felt along the walls until he saw something shimmer in the
distance. "Torchic, that might be a sign that the Legendary Golem
is nearby!"
Taiyou carefully crept closer to the thing that he saw.
A frozen Regirock stood there.
"It wasn't a sign we were near the Golem," Taiyou told Torchic. "It
WAS the Golem!"
Creeping closer, Taiyou saw that it wasn't frozen - it was
transformed entirely into crystal.
Riolu followed the safe path revealed by the bricks.
Riolu hurried up. He accidentally nudged a rock. It landed on a
trap and exploded in a burst of light. It was then incinerated.
Riolu slowed down again - he would much rather be slow and make
Nijito be patient than set off... one of those.
Taiyou ignored Torchic and continued examining Regirock. The Rock
Peak Golem was not moving. "Torchic, how could this have happened?
It's like it was just petrified completely!"
Suddenly it hit him. If the Golems were failing to protect the
kingdom, it must have been because they were petrified... And,
because they couldn't do their jobs... whoever petrified them could
easily sneak into the kingdom.
Getting one person into the kingdom didn't seem like a huge threat,
but whoever it was completely petrified Regirock, and possibly the
other Golems.
The kingdom was in great danger.
Ninjito had just happened to be looking away when he heard the
explosion. "Come on riolu hurry up we don't have a ll day!"
"Ggguvfycjgkvkhvugugv" thought Torchic as he paced around. He knew
this was an unsafe place, he could sense, small, even taste the
danger lurking behind a corner near them. He was calming himself
down when suddenly he heard a rumbling noise as rocks began to fall
from the ceiling.
Riolu ignored Ninjito and continued traveling slowly, but
accidentally nudged a trap and had to hurry away from it to avoid
being impaled by a very sharp icicle from the ceiling.
Taiyou yelped. "What was that?"
(I genuinely don't remember most of what I had thought for this
after seven months, so I suppose we'll just improvise. XD)
