Demon hunters--humans who specialize in the art of chasing down and killing demons. Demons--nonhuman creatures who specialize in the art of chasing down and killing humans.

Hunt or be Hunted takes place in an
alternate Earth where demons and humans live. There are many
different cities scattered all around the world, of both demons and
humans. Traveling Demon Hunters look for jobs to eradicate demons
by traveling town to town.
On the other hand, demons just kill humans for food, fun, or survival. They come in many forms, shapes, and sizes, and no demon is really alike.
Humans and demons also fight amongst themselves in competition, and oftentimes, if the competition is high enough, they'll end up massacring a nearby group of demons/humans in their squabbles.
There are also some unions formed by demons/hunters who band together to hunt.
The largest union calls themselves High Tide, to symbolize when the high tide of an ocean washes everything on the beach away.

His skin is lightly tanned, and he has fox ears and four fox tails; he'll develop more as he grows older until he's reached 9 tails. Typically Ryka wears loose and comfortable clothing that doesn't hamper his movement.
[[ PERSONALITY ]] Ryka is a rather mischievous person who loves pulling pranks, most harmless. He's typically known as a menace since the pranks he pulls on Hunters aren't harmless. They tend to explode.
Ryka has a great sense of humor and loves teasing others but he hates being teased. Usually if he's being made fun of, he'll retaliate by pranking the offender for an entire week or longer. In other words, he's very prideful.

[[ HISTORY ]] When Kiima was 'younger', she had murdered her parents, because 'a voice' she says, told her to kill them-they were bad people, the voice had told her. She grew up alone ever since then and does not mind it, fending and caring for herself.

[[ PERSONALITY ]] Terra is quite a character. She has a the feeling of melancholy most of the time, and she has a profound mind. She understands the situation very quickly, along with dealing with it right away. She is a loner, in a sense, but will work together with others when needed. She prefers to wander alone. She can be sweet, and sometimes shy, depending on what side of her heart you're on.
[[ HISTORY ]] Her family did not learn in the ways of a hunter until it was desperately needed. It started on the day of her mother's death. She was killed by a high ranking demon, a part of the High Tide, when she went on the trip to the market. Her dad, Admon, learned of this and was enraged. He began to learn the ways of the hunter, and taught it to his daughter, Terra, to defend herself against the evil that surrounded them.

[[ APPEARANCE (description is preferable.) ]] Nathana stands about 5'3'', her long sword hangs from a belt around her waist and falls short of her ankle. Her golden eyes are speckled with rust colored flecks that shimmer when they catch the suns rays just right. Her long black hair, in a braid, reaches the middle of her back, and quite often has a twig or leaf stuck in it. Her complexion is of a deeply tanned human color, but the scales on her neck and back are a darker shade of her skin and are iridescent. She can shapeshift into any lizard or snake that she desires to be, though it's taxing to retain the abnormal shape for extended periods of time. When she shifts back to her original form she retains her apparel, but not any extra things that may have been tied to her.
[[ PERSONALITY ]] She prefers to keep to herself, but will move into populated territory if she needs supplies or medical attention that she can't supply herself. When confronted with an enemy she welcomes the thrill of the fight, and is not afraid of her own death. If she gained an ally or "friend," she would most likely become very loyal, as she lacks friends on account of her trust issues.
[[ HISTORY ]] When she was little, her parents were killed before her eyes by a friend of the family who turned out to be a hunter. They found her hiding in a closet but when they tried to grab her she ran out of the house, shifted, and hid amongst the trees and stayed there for days. She doesn't remember how many as she didn't bother counting. When she finally set foot on the ground she began wandering and has been wandering ever since. She learned to hunt, kill, and fight on her own. Because of her childhood it takes her a long time to trust anyone.

[[ PERSONALITY ]] Phoenix is rather playful in a sense, and always willing to explore when she can. Though she doesn't really enjoy fighting with the demons, and personally would love to get along with them peacefully, she knows her place in the world and will fight when provoked. She was raised with fighting with a bow and arrow, so she can use that but claims scythes are more her style, makes her feel more powerful in a sense.
[[ HISTORY ]] Nix was raised by her father alone when her mother abandoned them when she was about 3, so she doesn't really remember much of her. Her father taught her how to hunt, and to be a skilled bowman, even though she never really saw it as something she enjoyed using. At 14 she received a scythe from an uncle that was a hunter, since he no longer had use for it from getting a new one, and decided it was much more her style. For the next 4 years she trained dutifully under her father and her uncle when he would occasionally stop by on how to be a good hunter and to live on her own in the world, and left when she was a few months over 18. She had been part of a union for a few years, but she got separated in a battle and as far as she knows they're dead, and with that she's been travelling on her lonesome for about two years now.

Ryka perches in a low tree, gold eyes scanning the area with little interest. His fingers and toes grip the rough branch, hard enough to hold on and not fall off but not hard enough to crack the wood. The kitsune's tails wave gently as he makes his way a little farther off the branch.

Titanium claws (worn at all times)
Crossbow (Always knocked and carried, can be hooked inside of her cloak)
Long thin throwing knives (Hidden in her clock, with bullets made from part silver part gold)
One quivers of arrows (Slung across her back)
A small shotgun (Carried in a small pack around her waist with silver bullets)
A sniper rifle (Slung the other way on her back)
She does have a small, mostly ineffective knife she uses mostly for utility.

[[ PERSONALITY ]] Quick thinker she does her best to stay two steps ahead of her enemy. Since she is still pretty young her experience in the normal world is low. She is cold, quiet, considering her quest a long time job she needs to check off a list. She can sometimes get a little cocky but tends to keep it in check.
[[ HISTORY ]] The worst day of her life happened when she was six years old. However she can only remember flashes of it. What she knows for sure is that something killed her parents and siblings, and it wasn't human. She learned the name for them at the age of eight and has dedicated her life to eradication of the demonic species. She has picked up various skills from her travels, never staying in one place for very long. She has a purple belt in karate, and skilled shot with her guns but her knives could use some work. She has also trained herself with effort to become an excellent close range fighter as well. While she has managed to slay many demons with her weapons she doesn't find the number satisfying and may never stop until every last demon is wiped out.

[[ OTHER ]] She does own an enchanted animal; a panther made entirely out of shadows. It found her not long after her parents where killed and it has never left her side since.

Ryka, upon reaching the edge of the branch, judges the distance between his spot and a thick and higher branch carefully before jumping, and thankfully, he makes it. His tails wave frantically to keep his balance and Ryka begins to make his way up the taller tree. The higher up he is, the better, and not just because the view is lovely.
