We all like useless trivia about something. Here are some bits for you ranging from mutiple targets.

1] Senpai actually means Student, however now it is referred to as a lover
2] The saying “Blind as a bat.” is highly inaccurate.
3] 98% of all insects can't hear.
4] Spiders, despite having eight eyes have terrible vision

That first one is highly inaccurate. o.O Where did you even pull this from?

While 'senpai' can refer to an upperclassmen (student), it is used and still is a term of respect for someone in a higher position whether it's in school, academics, organizations, or otherwise. It is absolutely NOT used to refer to lovers.

Dracadia, I must admit I didn't know the word senpai had more of a meeting then a higher class student, so thank you. You taught me something new. However some people refer to senpai as a lover, by calling their crush senpai, saying he is my senpai, or I love senpai.

theflash999d, I have indeed done research. Sure I made a mistake, who hasn't. However the rest was truthful.

Yeah, it actually comes from an anime trope where the characters have crushes on older students. It's a plot thread in a lot of different anime/manga, so people started saying it as a joke. It still just means older student/mentor/etc.
