I would like to suggest a way to block unwanted plushies.
Each user could have their own personal accept or do not accept preferences on which plushies they would like.

Here are some points on the matter. I would love responses and further in-depth discussion on the points!

1. Perhaps we could have a way accept or decline plushies before they are sent? A message could pop up saying SOANDSO wants to send you a Skitty plushie with the following message "Hi! Have a great day!" Would you like to accept or decline the offer? If the offer is declined, you could send a message in response such as "Sorry, I am not looking for this plushie." SOANDSO would not loose any DP because the transaction was not sent.

2. Because of the Random User option in which we can send any plushie to a "Completely Random" user, we should have a way to block unwanted plushies. If we had a way to stop them, then a message could pop up saying "Could not send to user because they have this plushie blocked" OR it could just skip the users who have them blocked and send to someone who wants one.

3. I have encountered too many troll users on here sending the Magikarp plushies even though I said I do not want want anyone to send me them. Then the trolls go and spam me with multiple amounts of the plushie. This is why we need a way to preferably block specific plushies. That way people cannot abuse this. Raiko himself said we all could report users for harassment if someone sent the plushies after we asked them to stop. This is in no way meant to be rude to anyone. I do find it rude when people troll me with unwanted plushies. Which is why we need "something" done on the subject. Please, do make suggestions or feel free to make your own thread about ways in which it can be fixed.

4. There are some plushies that I do not want to collect and people keep sending me them, like the inexpensive Magikarp. When I sort my plushies by Quantity, I DO NOT want to see that at the top of the list! I believe this would be really helpful to everyone. If the block was implemented, then those plushies would not have to appear in your list. There would be no reason to have to get rid of the past messages that were attached to any plushie sent, even if they were on a block list. The messages would not be affected in any way.

Because the points were originally very different. This is now a fresh start on the matter.
Would you not like to have a way to decide which plushies you would want or not want?
Any other points on the matter? I need all the suggestions I can get to help improve upon this topic.

Oh my goodness, they're gifts. You're being harassed by virtual gifts?
They're not affecting your gameplay in any way, so there's no reason for this to be implemented.
And plus, they're really not that hard to ignore. Just disable notifications for them or something.

Yes, I am being harassed by virtual gifts. Especially when people keep spamming me with them and not intending them to be for my benefit.
I feel it does affect the gameplay because of seeing a list of the plushie on my personal page. Even if I disable the notifications, they would be consuming my "Newest gifts" section until other plushies are received.
Also, when sorting by "Quantity" they are the first things that show up. How would you feel if you are hording one of your favorite plushie and see those ones at the top of the list rather than your favorite ones?

No support..thinking emotionally.. Many youngness trainers will feel very bad as they hardly earn dp and you easily ignore them..next time they will never give you plushie as punishment.
Other thing.. If this thing is allowed people like you will feel over proud..

I honestly wouldn't care. I'm not that kind of person to be bothered by something so childish/minor, and virtual. I would understand since they're the cheapest plushie you can send.
And it doesn't really affect your game play. You can still adopt eggs/hatch then, use other site-features. The plushies don't affect any of that. So as long as you simply ignore them, you wont be bothered by them.

This might sound a little rude, but there's nothing else to say.. Just get over it. You're not the only one who get's Magikarp plushies, but they deal with it maturely and simply ignore it. If they can, I don't see why you can't.

Do you have a Pokemon that you dislike? Or maybe just a plushie version of a Pokemon that you dislike? What if a troll user decided to send you five coppies of it at one time? How would you feel?

It is perfectly fine that trainers who just start their dream points and cannot earn that much send the karps to trainers who do not mind them. That is why they are so low in DP, so that everyone has a chance to send something. There are several other trainers who would love to receive them, therefore, they would not choose to block those ones.
And as new users join, they too would receive them until they reached a certain trainer level and could choose to block them only if they wish. It is personal preference. I have seen many users on here who aim to collect many of those ones.

How would it make someone feel proud? I feel it is a way to help everyone on here to stop getting trolled and to not have to receive their most disliked plushies. And not everyone would choose to use it, so they too would be open to receiving all available plushies.

Like stated already. I'm not that kind of person to be bothered by something so childish/minor, and virtual. Rather than starting a pointless fuss over it, 'll simply ignore them and deal with it. It's not that hard.

Sorry, was directing that towards infernaped. I was not trying to repeat the question.
Thank you though for your imput. ^_^

It personally causes me distress to my being, making it rather hard to "simply" ignore it. I know not everyone is like you and can "simply ignore them". And not everyone gets as distressed as I do. I am just trying to find a balance and help other users as well.

I really do thank you for discussing this with me.

Directed to Toothie or not, it's still the same. Your just repeating yourself.

I am trying to reply to each user individually. I started this thread, so I do not want people to feel left out. (Some users might be on my friends list or message me about it and I reply to them there rather, but still not wanting anyone to feel left out.)
Directing points at the individuals allows them to continue the discussion and expand upon it.

I would love to hear your opinion on the subject of blocking plushies, Tenefix.

I think we got the point, no need to repeat your self over and over again.

EDIT: I dont support.
Reasons already stated by Toothie, just ignore it, ignore it like everyone else does.

Ok. You are welcome to leave the thread if you do not like me replying to everyone.
If you do not have an opinion on the topic itself, you do not have to quote my responses to other users.

Edit: Ok, thank you for your opinion.
This suggestion is for everyone so that they do not have to simply ignore it.

While I support this, it's for a different reason (and perhaps a more logical one than simply disliking the species), as, contrary to what many users seem to believe, spamming Plushies actually DOES have the potential for what can be considered a harmful effect by some users.
Some people take advantage of the ability to add messages to Plushies, and often give lovely, thoughtful messages. These are what, in the eyes of some users, make the Plushies from "random items that don't actually have a function other than simply being cute" to "beautiful gifts that can actually brighten someone's day." Examples of the latter include one I received from CyndaquilLuvsVan_Halen, which spoke of our great friendship, and one I received from Paranoia, which had a quote from Winnie the Pooh. Notice that neither of these Plushies are still visible in my Gift Log. The messages are gone.
Unfortunately, a limited number of these messages can be saved, and once that limit is reached, the oldest messages are erased. While you still keep the Plushie, the message disappears.
Now consider that some users actually care about the messages they receive. If someone spams them with fifty Magikarp, most of their messages are gone forever. Yes, Plushies are gifts, but they CAN be harassment if they're being used simply to bug someone. Gifts are supposed to have thought behind them, so is it really that bad to want to keep someone from sending a Plushie of a kind you don't want when you know (and sometimes they expressly say) that it's only to spite you?
Those users who don't care about this can simply not block Plushies, but there's absolutely no reason why you should want so badly to send an unwanted Plushie to a user who doesn't want messages being erased, which is harassment. If they care about the messages, at least send them a Plushie with some thought put into it, or you really are just spamming/harassing them anyway. If they don't care about this, then they won't block them, so there's no downside.

Side note: I know you can screenshot Plushies, but
a) nobody else sees them in your gift log, and
b) there's really no reason you should NEED to take extra steps to save them simply out of fear that someone is going to intentionally spam you with Plushies they know you don't want.
They're not just hurting you, either, but the users who sent the meaningful Plushies. Their thoughtful gift has just been pushed away by a sudden influx in undesirable fish.

Quote from myselfBeing able to prevent getting new plushies of a certain type would be useful. Even trading in unliked plushies for ones that you would rather have is fine by me. (so trade them in for the DPs, then turn around and spend them on plushies you prefer)

However, who says that it needs to affect the gift log? I think that all the messages and all the plushies you received from others should stay in the gift log, and if you exchange unwanted plushies for more wanted plushies, that shouldn't affect anything other than the collection.

This way the meaningful messages aren't affected, the gifts themselves aren't unappreciated, but you get something you would prefer. Much like if you get a gift from someone and it's not what you want. Most of the time you can take it to a store, and exchange it for something you do want, or to get a gift card for around the same value. Doesn't mean you don't appreciate the thought. It doesn't mean that it means nothing to you. It just means it's not something you want or need so you would rather put the other person's generosity towards something more useful.

You don't forget what they said just because you exchanged it. You also don't forget what they gave to you.

So yeah, that's my two cents, lol.

I feel that my post in the previous thread still applies to how I feel about this. If it was a blocking plushies feature, I'd block Magikarp as well. Not because I don't like them outnumbering the ones I actually collect, but because it benefits those who send me plushies. I don't return Magikarp plushies, so by blocking them, any plushie I receive would get returned.

I do think that there should be a way to keep meaningful messages on the plushie collection, but as there is currently no way to do so, some users abuse this and spam worthless plushies just to remove the meaningful messages on others' pages.

I wouldn't mind if this was implemented or not, and I wouldn't use it (Probably) so I am neutral about this suggestion right now.
