I blundered wildly through the undergrowth. Mightyena is hot on my trail growling out threats. I struggle over a few logs. I can feel Mightyena’s hot breath on my back. I run through a gap in a rocky area. Unfortunately I run right into a dead end. I turn around just in time to see the Mightyena sneering as he corners me.

Maybe I should start from the beginning. My name is Vulpix. I live with my trainer, Clover, in Pacifidlog Town. My trainer wanted to travel around and battle in gyms. She had spent most of her time researching Pokémon and training me in battles against friends. The first Pokémon she caught on our adventure was a wild Rattata outside of town.

The first day of the adventure was exciting. I saw a lot of new Pokémon, like an Ekans, a Gloom and a Skitty. When I saw the Skitty I wanted to be friends. I approached her in a friendly manner, but she didn’t like me one bit. “Scram, you mangy mutt.” She hissed. “Run of to your Mama, you dim-witted dog” I didn’t like what she said. “You better run, because I’m going to bite your pretty little tail off.” I growled as I charged at her. She ran but not before countering with another insult.

Clover got upset because the Skitty ran away. She wouldn’t have been so keen on the Skitty if she new what had just happened. Clover made a fire and dinner. After dinner Clover explored her new Pokédex. I decided to explore the bushes near the camp. I found another camp as I explored. There were two men round the fire. They didn’t look friendly at all. I decided to leave before they see me. “Hey, isn’t that a Vulpix. We can bag it now and sell it later.” One of the men says. I decided to run before they got up. Unfortunately I ran into another man. “Where are you going little one?” Says the man as he carries me by my tail.

I didn’t like it so I countered with a flame thrower. The man managed to avoid it and threw me hard into a cage. I shouted a lot of rude words concerning their parents.
They didn’t even feed me. I saw more Pokémon in cages. In the cage next to me was a scared Zigzagoon. She looked very miserable. “Don’t worry. I’ll get us out of here.” I assured her. “I hope so.” She replies. That evening I started thinking of a plan. Early the next morning the men started to pack the cages onto a truck, just as I expected. I faked having a hurt paw. The men noticed. “I think it’s hurt.” One man says. The other man looked at me and grinned. “Whatever, it’s not our problem.” He says shaking my cage fiercely. I blew out a stream of flame but it missed.

They threw me into the truck. Zigzagoon was put in another truck. Definitely not how I planned things to go. The truck sped through the forest. Unfortunately I couldn’t see where I was going. After a long while the truck came to a stop. The men unpacked all the cages into a warehouse. All around me was a myriad of miserable, gloomy Pokémon. Zigzagoon still wasn’t here. But I did manage to find out that the Pokémon held here gets sold to different people. Most of the Pokémon kept here is wild. The rest is stolen from other trainers.

After a couple of hours a woman came to the warehouse. “Lady Shih wants a Natu.” The woman says impassively. The man takes the cage next to mine and hands it to the woman. “There you go Natalie.” The man says coolly. I started to get nervous. I don’t want to be sold to someone I don’t know. I want to go back to Clover. Some time later some of the men left. Only two stayed to guard the Pokémon. The men eventually fell asleep. I was too anxious to go to sleep. Near midnight I was startled by a noise from a window. From the window a kid Clover’s age clambered through. At first I thought it was Clover but I soon noticed that it was a guy.

The boy quickly scanned through the cages of Pokémon. A smile lit up on his face when he saw me. He hastily grabbed my cage and ran back to the window. Luckily neither of the men woke up. Outside I noticed that we were in a city. As soon as the boy reached his home he opened my cage. “Oh Vulpy, I missed you.” The boy exclaimed hugging me. I was so confused. I don’t know this kid. He’s not my trainer. I kicked free from him and fell to the ground. “Vulpy what’s wrong?” The boy asked. “Tommy, dinner time!” A woman shouted from the house. I turned to run but the boy scooped me up and carried me inside. “Tommy, give Vulpy a bath after dinner please.” The woman said. “Alright mom.” Said Tommy.

After dinner Tommy gave me a bath. I made it difficult for him. Only Clover is allowed to bathe me. At bedtime Tommy put a bow in my fur. Oh the humiliation. A bow on me! That is so gay. I immediately tried to get it off but Tommy stopped me. I gave up and went to sleep since I was soooo tired. The next morning Tommy wanted to take me for a walk. I refused to leave the room. Tommy dragged me out of the room but not without a fight. I kicked and scratched as hard as I could. But that did not stop Tommy. Tommy figured out that I would try to run again so he carried me for the walk. Tommy took me to a building with some posters all over the walls. Inside there was a Professor doing a talk. It wasn’t Professor Birch so I didn’t recognize him.

After the talk, the Professor asked if any one had any questions. Tommy immediately went up to the Professor. “Professor, my Vulpix is acting strange.” The Professor looked at me a while and turned to Tommy. “Well, you could take that bow off. Maybe that would work.” Tommy looked confused. “Vulpy has always liked her bow. She started acting weird ever since I got her back from some men who took her.” The Professor was immediately concerned. “You should talk to Officer Jenny about that. But this is a male Vulpix.” Tommy looked heartbroken at this. “So this isn’t my Vulpy?” Tommy sniffed. “I’m sorry, no” Said Professor Elm

The Professor took me from Tommy. “I would have to find this Vulpix’s trainer.” Said the Professor. The Professor took me to his lab. In his lab there were all sorts of Pokémon. “So Vulpix, lets see if anyone reported a missing Vulpix.” Said the Professor as he looked at his database. “Doesn’t look like it.” He mutters. Suddenly another man came in. “Professor, come quick.” Says the man. The Professor follows the man out the door. After a while the Professor comes back. The Professor seems busy. The Professor retrieves a Pokéball and leaves again. I wait some more.

I was awoken by someone coming into the room. I looked up to see a guy with longish red hair and dark clothes. He walks into the room. Something tells me that he should not be in here. I try to hide but he sees me and quickly grabs me. He runs out the door. This time I use my flame thrower attack. The guy cusses as the flame touches him. He drops me and I run as fast as I can. I stopped running when I reached the forest. I looked around to make sense of where I am. I was startled by a rustling noise from behind me. I quickly turned around to see a Larvitar appear. I cautiously approached him. “Hi, Trainer pet. Whatcha doing here alone?” Larvitar asked.

“I’m lost. Where is Pacifidlog Town?” I asked Larvitar. “I don’t know where Pacifidlog Town is. But you’re at New Bark Town.” I thought about that for a while and realized something. “Petalburg City is in Johto! I need to be in Hoenn!” I shouted out. “Well, then you should do to the boat dock. You can ask the Wingull for a boat to Hoenn,” Said Larvitar. Larvitar told me how to get to the boat dock and I ran as fast as I could to get there in time. There was a lot of water Pokémon at the dock. I found some Wingull. I asked them for directions. The smallest Wingull told me the large green boat is headed for Mossdeep City. That’s close enough. I quickly found the large green boat. The boat ride wasn’t as long as I though. I spent the time on the boat with some Rattata. I got off the boat as soon as it docked. I said goodbye to the Rattata and ran into the forest.

I decided that I would go through the forest until I reached a city or town and get directions from there. On the way I ran past a Lairon. The Lairon halted me and asked me to help him with something. I decided to listen to what he had to say. He asked me to retrieve his everstone at the river. I asked him why he couldn’t do it himself. He replied that he is too busy at the moment. I quickly rushed to the river. At the river there a smallish cave. I cautiously went into the cave. I saw the everstone and took it out of the cave. A growling from behind startled me. I turned around to see a big, angry Mightyena staring at me. “What are you doing in MY cave, with MY everstone?” Growled the Mightyena. I spit the stone out and replied. “That’s not your everstone! It’s Lai…” I was interrupted by Mightyena as he charged at me. I turned tail and ran.

“I can explain.” I try to say but I can barely make a sound. “Scyther, use Fury Cutter on that Mightyena!” Shouted a voice. The Scyther attacked. Mightyena countered with Growl and ran away. The Person didn’t pursue Mightyena but turned to Scyther. “Better luck next time.” I coyly approached the person. When I got closer I realized that it was Clover! I ran and jumped at her. “Well if it isn’t the runaway Vulpix.” She grinned. “Where were you? You missed out on a lot.”
I just licked her face excitedly. “Come on Vulpix, we have some badges to earn.” Clover said as we walked of in the sunset.
