Redwhisker walked into camp happily. He was now a full medicine cat apprentice. "Congragulations, Flarepaw." Redwhisker dipped his head to the leader as they left camp.

She led her to a stream with a low branch hanging in the water, there were a group of stepping stones. Cloverstar pricked her ears as she heard movement in the bushes. She crouched and started moving. She pounced on a fat squirrel as she killed it with a nip on the neck. She padded out of the bushes a she dropped it by a tree and put some dirt over it. "We'll take that back while we're going home." Cloverstar told her apprentice, while she beckoned Flarepaw to follow with her with her tail, as she hopped on the stones.

Flarepaw stared at the fat squirrel thinking of the way Cloverstar pounced onto it. Shaking her head, she focused her mind on the stones instead of the squirrel.

Cloverstar led her past some feverfew and yarrow. She led her to an abandoned twoleg place. There were some cat mint spreading in the fenced in garden. The stench of dog stank the nest.

Flarepaw stopped at recognised the sent. She froze and shortly after heard the howl of a dog. She looked at her leader with scared but trusting eyes.

"Let' hunt a bit." The leader said as she lead Flarepaw back to the buried squirrel. Cloverstar found a thrush on a low tree branch. She jumped for it, but failed. As she slid down the bark, the thrush flew away. "Mouse dung!" She hissed.

Flarepaw crouched when she heard a rustle in the bushes. One the animal crawled out she pounced on it and when she looked at her capture, it was a Vole.
