Maybe for this suggestion as I am leaning on the support side, it'd be hard to make sure art isn't stolen on here, so what about like, for every thing you have (signatures, avatars, etc.) You should have a link in your diary or signature to the permissions for the user to use it. I've seen this on other sites and it helps a good amount.

I put picture of the pokehero plushie's in my diary. does that mean I have to link them back to the site then?

Well the reason artists watermark their images is because they don't want it stolen. haha Usually if it's watermarked people would say that they wouldn't want something that has writing on it. It's just a little something artists can do to prevent their image from being stolen. Also even with the small writing in the corner I already stated it'd be easily cropped/erased so it would be pointless. Also most people wouldn't bother to look for the original artist if the image was cropped since you'd probably wouldn't know the name was there in the first place if you haven't seen the image before. To me watermarking doesn't really ruin a picture aesthetically much if you place the writing properly ^^.

It's not really about free art (as Doopliss already mentioned). It's more about people who take other's art and resells it (for profit) and also edits it without permission.

If it's free original art(aka a request), I'm perfectly okay with that because it's the artists own choice to not ask for something in exchange. But this is more about the use of images without proper accreditation if we're talking about free art.

I think it would be preferable to credit at least where you took the image from to acknowledge that the original image doesn't belong to you. For example; e.g. I retrieved this image from (link here). I don't think so because I think the plushies are more or less offical artwork rather than belonging to a pokemon fansite.

Haha I just used that as a hypothetical situation (sorry for not saying so) it was one of the most recent pictures I drew (sorry for using your name too ;w;). Well big fandoms like pokemon are already so recognizable that if someone said on the internet they own it I'd probably wouldn't believe them.

Hmm, that's an interesting way of marking your work but I wouldn't prefer it myself since I want a watermark to be a little noticeable at least so if it ever appear on Google Images any person looking at it would say that it has writing on it so I wouldn't take it ^^.

Im sorry to say this but those art shop "Iskandar's art market" and "Eternallight's shop"
is DOING ART THEFT.(NOT SURE IF I NAMED THEM RIGHT) I noticed that they take random pictures and edit it......THE MOST ANNOYING THING ABOUT IT IS THAT................................

They EARN money from it.

So yeah. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY SUPPORT!

I support when it comes to the Fanmades section. Taking other people's art and editing it in purposes of 'selling' it is NOT okay. I'm not that good of an artist so I haven't had my drawings stolen (at least as far as I know) but I'd be horrified if someone claimed my work as their own or edited it.

Though I think it's okay to use art in your avi/sig/about me and preferably credit the artist. That is, if the artist didn't claim you can't use their art anywhere, in which case you obviously can't use it.

I don't think there is a way to stop this, but I suggest maybe putting Pokeheroes.com and your Pokeheroes username or something in small letters in the corner, like artists who use paint in real life to design stuff, they would put their signature in the corner. Or put your Facebook address there, even if the person rubbed it out, people would think it looked a bit messy, and so they could guess something went wrong?
