The Dark Days (Invite Only)
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Pokémon RP → The Dark Days (Invite Only)A time long ago, year 2000 to be specific, was something was all remember, we all miss. A time where the grass was always green and the flowers were always bloomed. A time when the water was always clean and healthy and the air around us was unpolluted and fresh. Everything back then was safe and friendly; all of the trainers had their differences but got along and all of the pokémon were allies instead of enemies. Yes, we all remember that time. All of the days were spent well and cherished but no one knew how long the peace would last.
~The Pokémon View~
Around the year 2010 things started getting out of hand. The gym leaders, Elite Four and Pokémon Champions began to get over their heads with the power that they had in their 6 little pokéballs. It became rare to win against any of them, even the weakest of the pokémon gym leaders. The trainers began to get mad and began forming little groups to train their pokémon to become strong enough to take down each leader. They would make sure that their pokémon had three times the amount of speed, defense and attack than the leaders did. When the time came, the trainers would challenge the gym leaders and with both sides being so strong, the battles would either last very long or fairly quick, but it didn't matter how long the battles last because when they did end, it was bad. The pokémon began getting worked so hard and so much that eventually some would die off due to not being able to handle it all. After this began to happen, to both the trainers and champions all over the regions, things began to go down and go down fast. The pokémon began to turn on their partners and the pokémon who chose to stay with their human would defend their partner.
Finally after the five year battle between the champions and trainers, it ended, but the wild and non-favorited pokémon lost all trust in the humans. The green grass that you use to see is now dead and crunchy and those flowers you’d see are nearly extinct. The water that use to be clear and healthy in now full of ashes and dead pokémon carcasses. And the air? Full of pollution and barely breathable. This is what the humans turned our land into. What we thought were our friends, partners and even family, have turned our land into a wasteland full of nothing. When we finally thought that there was another species that could be trusted, we only found out that we have been deceived. The humans can’t be trusted and neither can the pokémon that fought by their side. We must consider them unreliable and untrustworthy; the alliance between us is now broken and can’t be created again.
~Trainer View~
*They do not know about the island yet!*
Five years ago, when the grass was still green and flowers still bloomed, we found ourselves seriously outmatched. We entered gyms only to have our beloved partners beaten in a matter of seconds, for young trainers even getting past the first gym seemed like a wild dream. Our Pokémon were loyal and tried their best, but still, it was never enough. Some of us joined up together, trained for days on end with no rest. Finally, we could fight back. The battles were long and hard, but now we actually had a chance of winning. We became drunk on our victory; we thought we could keep going, until we were a force that could bring all the once powerful trainers down. We disregarded our partners health and mistreated them terribly. They died of exhaustion, or turned on us and fought among themselves.
Now, five years later, our world has been shattered. The earth suffered through the terrible fights, the air is filled with thick smog, and healthy plants are a thing of the past. Water is clouded and rendered undrinkable by corpses of once beloved friends and ash. This is what we had done while our minds and judgment were clouded. We thought of no one but ourselves, and now we finally saw what we had done wrong. The Pokémon we had considered friends, partners, even family no longer trust us, and have since fled from our company to places unknown. We must reconcile with them now, to rebuild this ruined earth. I still believe we can reforge the broken bonds we once shared; all we need is their trust, which they no longer wish to share with us. Truly, I don’t blame them, but if we are to start anew, forgiveness must be made.

After fleeing from their trainers and going to the journey to find a new place to call home. Some pokemon formed groups as they traveled, making friends with the pokemon that they met along the way. None of the pokemon knew exactly where they were headed but one thing that they did know from listening to their trainers and random travelers during the time of the alliance was that not all of the Unova Region had been explored. That there were still unknown places on the outside of the regions, and that was where they were headed. Knowing from common sense that the East was always warmer, most pokemon headed that way. After a while, the pokemon had gotten to the East Coast of the Unova Region and spotted an island in the far distance that looked nearly deserted. With their curiosity spike, they all began to make their way across the large body of water that they called Tikva Bay to the unknown Island. When the pokemon finally reached this island, it was like something they had seen a long time ago. This island had the beautiful green grass, crystal clear waters, and blooming flowers that once filled the entire Unova Region. The last place nature still survived and thrived that they now called, Otok Island.
~The Land Region~
--The Unvoa Region--
The Unova Region used to be a beautiful land full of green grass, colorful flowers, clear water and a blue sky all the time but after the last 10 years with war against the trainers and gym leaders, the land took a turn for the worst. Now all you can see is a grey and smoggy sky, dirt fields with ash and dead carcasses everywhere, burnt and completely dead trees and water that you will never see the bottom of again. Even though everything is dead, there are still some distinct land features that can be recognized by anyone.
One of them is Mt.Coronet, the largest mountain in the Sinnoh region and the only way to cross it is through a cave that goes through the entire mountain before getting to the other side of the mountain. Inside the mountain are rivers, waterfalls, coves, cliffs and a bunch of other minor features but more were man-made or pokemon-made. Even though all of the trees on the outside are burnt and dead, everything on the inside is still the same as it has always been.
Another distinct land form is the Lake of Rage. If you are unfamiliar with this lake, it was known for the Red Gyarados that lives in it. It rains here very often so the trees are always super moist, making it hard for the fires to spread during the war. Even though some are dead and burnt, there are still a few living things in the area.
Cerulean Cave is also safe from the destruction of the land mostly because no trainer dares to enter the cave and risk not making it out because of the high-leveled pokemon in there. Again, all of the waterfalls and rivers that run throughout this cave and safe from all of the pollution of the outside.
Another thing that was safe from the war was Skyarrow Bridge. This bridge is both super long and super strong as well as safe. The only pokemon ever seen here are the occasional bird pokemon. This bridge was a big thing during the war, running back and forth on it to and from the big city of Castelia City.
There are few land forms that are still safe from the war but they have yet to be discovered. Will you find something that is still safe?
~Otok Island~
Otok island, the only remaining viable patch of nature in the regions. Wild Pokemon and previously owned ones have since fled to this paradise. It is located in a bay, and is rather large. The island gently slopes into the surrounding water, and the banks are covered in a pale sand. Farther up from the beach, the island is mostly covered in a dense forest with a few clearings scattered around. Fresh water is supplied from springs that bubble up all over. The air here is much cleaner than around the big cities thanks to it's abundant plant life.On this island are many land features that draw even more attention to it than it has now.
There is a cove located on the east end of the island. Here, there is the soft pale sand along with the calm clear water that dips into the cove. Surrounding the small area is a cliff, naturally made with grey stone.
Another feature is the jungle that covers a third of the island. Here many pokemon go to both train and play. Since there are so many vines and tall trees, it helps pokemon improve their climbing ability and moving around challenging obstacles easily.
There are also two rivers that run through the island. At the West end of the Island is where the rivers start as one, then a few miles upstream, the split into two. The right half of the river splits and ends in the southeast part of the island, then the other loops around and ends in the southwest of the island.
Since the island is quite large, there is one set of rolling hills towards the north end of the island. In these hills, there are numerous caves, unknown codes and tunnels that lead to new places.
Then, of course, there is the main land where many of the pokemon have built their homes and created the space in which they now live. Because this island is so big, the other half of the island underneath goes down over a mile underwater; so those ground-type pokemon have all the space to burrow through the dirt.
