Is because that's not the url of the image, is the url of the deviantart page.
To know if it is a image or not, check the end of the link. If it ends with .gif, .png or .jpeg is surely an image.
This is the ulr you try to use:
http://peekingboo.deviantart.com/art/DJ-lution-Eevee-356592071

as you can see, it doesn't works.

this is the image link:
http://orig00.deviantart.net/de38/f/2013/057/1/2/dj_eevee0001_by_peekingboo-d5wb07b.gif

While this one shows properly.

If you open the links in another tab, both go to a diferent page, one to the deviantar one and the other to the actual image.

To get the url to the image, right click on it and click "see image" (or something like that ,my computer is in another language x'D)

For extra niceness and an add on challenge you could link the image to the deviantart page :'D

you can't use widgets on Notifications as they don't work, the only way to get your egg on notifications is by using the url code:
[url=http://pokeheroes.com/pokemon?id=4288647]*Text you want*[/url]


Just copy the code above this text and change the "*Text you want*" to any text you would like, also the link part of the code is just the link of the eggs page.

just go on to the auction page of your pokemon and get the link from the auction you want to share, once you have done that, use the BBCode i have shown you.

I tried the color-change Visitors code but its not working :(
