Forum-Index → Contests → User-made contests → [UPDATED 06/20] Contest Guide & Rules - Read before post*Note that this applies to all contests on this site and not just forum contests unless specifically stated in the rule.
New stuff in purple!
1. The title of your thread should have a proper tag in front, like this:
[Tag] Name of your thread
For example I want to create an Art Contest:
[A] Draw a Zygarde and win!
In case you'd want to create both Art and Writing Contest:
[A][W] Draw/Write a Story with Zygarde and win!
2. Threads in which no one posted for more than a month will be locked. If you still want to reuse them after this much time, please contact a Moderator.
3. Threads without the proper tag will be reminded then locked if the label isn't added in 24 hours. If you want it unlocked, you'll have to palpad a mod and promise that you'll label.
4. All threads with hashtags will be deleted! There is a special thread to post them here. This does not apply to contests that require users to make a post of their own.
5. If the contest has been finished, please edit the title of your thread by adding [CLOSED], so it can be locked earlier, or contact a Mod to do so.
6. All contest prizes need to be obtained before the contest begins. For example, you cannot say that you'll buy the nuggets later, hunt the shiny after the goal is reached or that you'll get the pd prize later.
6.1 The only general prize exception to this is art. It is neigh impossible to get art done, before the winner is chosen, so art can be given as a prize, and fulfilled at a later date.
6.2 Giveaways (this includes raffles that follow contest rules) are exempt from this rule due to the fact that ticket buyers do not have to pay.
7. All contests need to be reasonable. It is down to the moderators to determine whether your contest seems possible. This is to prevent users from entering contests that are unlikely to finish. A few guidelines for a reasonable contest would be:
★ The contest should last no longer than 3 months (this does not apply to monthly/weekly contests).
★ The contest should at least be giving back a value around 5% (this can be determined with the help of Price Check)
★ All contests must clearly label an end date or goal.
★ Any contest with a goal higher than 1 thousand gems, 1 million pokedollars, or 1 thousand nuggets (if your goal is something else, feel free to contact a moderator to ask what would reasonable) needs to have smaller goals. For example, if you wanted 10 thousand normal gems for a ditto, you can make a prize for reaching that goal, but, you'd also to make prizes for each 1 thousand gems you reach.
8. Prizes of contests need to be given out within a week of the end date of the contest. Unless it has been explained to a moderator that there will be a longer wait (with a reasonable explanation), the contest will be considered a scam and dealt with accordingly.
9. Before making a contest, please get it approved by a moderator. You can make the thread but please state that it is not open until a moderator has approved it. Simply make a post here to let us know of the existence of your contest. Once you see your contest in the second post of the thread, you can start the contest.
9.1 This does not include giveaways and mini contests (contests are that are contained to one feed).
10. Contests are NOT visible to everybody without an approval first, please create your thread and wait for its approval/rejected (and the explanation of the rejection if there was one), in order to start it.
11. Please label your thread according to the descriptions for each label below:
