So I was hatching one of my retro eggs and everything is normal out comes a bulbasaur. What I don't understand is why is it mega-able? I thought these retro pokemon couldn't evolve? Is it just a neat thing this bulbasaur has now that doesn't do anything lol.

Either I am not aware of the shadow Pokémon odds or I am just unlucky combined with my 50 stamina bars of no shellder and now with 138 tries to find shadow igglybuff. I am starting to think this website has it out for me lol. I have the screenshot if you want proof for the 138 igglybuff in a row if that's even a high number.

Hey I can't seem to find a straight answer on Egg chains. I got a prize from the Matching game on Game corner. Will this egg break my chain? And also do other eggs obtained as a reward or via voucher break chains, or does it depend? I have only found threads that are for specific Event Pokémon. I would like to have someone explain it a little better then what is on the Wiki. Thanks

Yeah I have like at least 5 of the other rare/super rares for fishing on the good rod (or whatever the 2nd one is called). I still haven't fished up a single shellder :(

I get shellder is very rare but I have fished through 20 stamina bars now and haven't found a single shellder. I have like 2-5 of each of the other Very Rare pokemon on the good rod but no shellder. Is there some kind of bug right now where it mistakenly needs a better rod to get him? If so let me know. Or if there is some way to increase your odds to get a specific pokemon from fishing let me know

Does the pokemon you send to a given zone matter? Does a bug type find better stuff/level up the forest more so then a fire type? Does the Pokemon's level/stats matter?

Is there a fast way to level up post level 100 Pokémon or do they just take a while since they are much higher. I guess in general as well what's the best way to level-up Pokémon.

While I am on the topic do most Pokémon evolve under the same conditions as the games? If it is different how can I tell?

Maybe I don't get the reference but why are a few people's usernames the answer for the hangman questions? I understand if they have a part in running the site, but it doesn't feel good getting something wrong when the word is like xluvpkmx (not real answer just an example). I also could just be dumb and read the words very wrong when I played it.

I was looking through the Forums and the Wiki and realized that some things aren't easy to find or obvious to someone who isn't used to breeding Pokémon. I would like to start this thread to basically compile all the info needed in one place for breeding here and what the differences may/may not be with the actual games. I personally never did the breeding much in game only for a brief time so take what I say is overlap with a grain of salt. Hopefully someone leaves a comment to correct me.

Here's what I've learned:

For the most part the very basics of breeding are the same as the game's mechanics are. You get 2 Pokémon opposite gender of the same egg group and you have a chance to make an egg. This is where the first thing that confused me is already. If the Pokémon is in multiple egg groups then you only go by the first egg group not the second.

Example: Charmander is apart of the Monster/Dragon egg group Druddigon is part of the Dragon/Monster egg group these two Pokémon are NOT compatible. However Squirtle is compatible with Charmander because its egg group is Monster/Water1.


Credits are needed for anything to happen in the daycare. Think of it as one of those old horsey rides at the grocery store if there is no money in the machine it won't go.

The Wiki explains breeding shiny and event Pokémon pretty well. I am unsure about mega Pokémon how that works. I only know of that because I saw people talking about it in another forum.



So far that is all I know. I am still pretty new and haven't gotten to battling yet so I am unaware of how those mechanics work just yet. Hope we can fill in the blanks and/or I am wastin' my time and its somewhere else lol.

Hey I am oxGrEeKxo. Been into Pokémon for a while now and basically come by here to kill time every now and again. My favorite gen is gen 3 (surprise). Favorite Pokémon changes pretty often I love so many of them its typically between Dicidueye and Swampert. Hope to complete the dex here and see you guys in the forums :)
