I first got Pokemon Blue in a combo pack with a red Gameboy Color at a Costco when I was around 8. Pokemon Blue was the first video game I've ever played, and probably what got me into gaming in general. Wonder what I would've been like today if I never got it...

Anyways, I restarted Pokemon Blue so many times as I grew up that I can't remember the very first starter I chose, ahah. I thiiink it was Bulbasaur, though?

I originally started making sprites in MS Paint, before moving onto using Photoshop. Much easier to work with sprites when there's layers; plus I'm also somewhat learning how to animate sprites that way.

I've downloaded other programs like GraphicsGale and FireAlpaca, though I've been kinda lazy in trying to learn how those work, so I just stick to Photoshop.

Hooo, video game OSTs are pretty much all I listen to, so this might get... ramble-y? Sorry about that!

Let's see...

- Fire Emblem Awakening: "Conquest (Ablaze)" and pretty much any of the "Id" songs are great (especially Return and Purpose, yep!). A lot of the event music in FE:A's soundtracks tend to have quotes from the game as tracks, which is weird, but they're nice too. "Shh... Easy now, girl. I won't hurt you", "Don't speak her name!", and "It's Right After This Mountain" all have really long names, but they're pretty calming to listen to, maybe even good study music?

- Xenoblade: "Gaur Plains (Day)", "Satorl Marsh (Night)" "Frontier Village", "Mechonis Field" are all great since they're more... ambient for being environmental music? For battle music, there's "Unfinished Battle", "Mechanical Rhythm", and "They Will Know Our Names".

- Guilty Gear/BlazBlue - Since these two are fighting games from the same company, they've a lot of energetic themes. Guilty Gear itself has a lot of references to rock bands (if I remember correctly?), so there's lots of guitar used in most of the themes.

- Then there's the Shin Megami Tensei series. Depending on what's more your cup of tea, there's a lot of really rockish tracks in Devil Survivor-there's "Deep Night" or "Shudder" from the second game. Shin Megami Tensei IV's got some sweet battle tracks, too, like "Tokyo Battle" or "Mikado Battle" (which some people are saying are the reverse of each other?). Persona 3 and 4's tracks tend to have lyrics, like "Time" from P3P, or "Your Affection" in P4.
And Catherine's not really related to SMT, but the composer's done some remixes of classical pieces for that game.

As for non-game OSTs, Attack on Titan is agonizingly beautiful. "EMA" and "The Reluctant Heroes" are some really great ones if you wanna get pumped for something. I also remember liking some of the tracks from Tiger and Bunny's OST, "Power to the Future" being one example.

Also I'm not sure if the Kagerou Project songs count (there's going to be an anime in April 2014?), but I've been listening to a bunch of the songs on repeat for the past few days, and I find them really catchy. Some Niconico singers do covers of the songs too.

...I've a few more to list, but I don't want this to end up becoming essay-length, eheh.
