I like don’t disagree with you I made a post discussing my issue with triggering feeds too a couple posts up I just mean to say this forum is specifically about updating the blocking system
I don’t think a restrict feature is a bad idea either, just that this suggestion is specifically about the blocking system I worry adding all this extra customizable stuff under “block” specifically just makes it confusing and needlessly complicated, from my knowledge wattsapp and telelgram are specifically messaging apps they’re less public, this would be more akin to how Instagram or Twitter would handle their blocking (I don’t use wattsapp or telegram so feel free to correct me there)

One of the reasons I really want a updated blocking system is due to how much triggering stuff gets talked about
And I’m not against the idea or discussion of a restrict feature I just don’t think it’s a good idea to have it BE the blocking if that makes sense

I hope this doesn’t sound rude at all and it’s written a bit rushed so if I’ve misinterpreted anything I apologize my brains a bit everywhere

this is a really specific example, it seems like your looking more for a restrict feature which i super wouldnt mind having, but this suggestion is for a block system specifically, a block being a cut of contact in its entirety

i can understand why youd want it set up that way but thats extremely specific and im not sure if that really alligns with how a block feature works, again its more similar to a mute or restrict feature if that makes sense

this system is less about people who are annoying or inconveniencing and more about keeping people safe from others actively being freaks to you (ie that random guy who PMed repeatedly telling me i was going to hell and that god hated me)

im sure theres a few more points as well its been a few months since theres been any real discussion on this so id have to read through the prior discussion a bit more which i can unfortunately not do right now ill see if i can come back in like a few hours or so and reread it all

if anyones new to looking at this suggestion id recommend also looking through all the prior posts before voting as its got a few rather good points and discussions in it that bring up some valid concerns other than the initial post /gen

and as always if anyones got anything to add or concerns etc to share please feel free to add them

this makes a lot of sense if youre wanting to share around your profile to people tho idk how common it is for people to do that with someone who doesnt play the game however id argue it wouldnt really discourage people from joining site as i dont think peoples profiles are what lure people to the game if that makes sense, the only way i can see new members really stumbling onto peoples profiles without searching for users is by clicking their names when their eggs show up on the front page. its the gameplay that lures people here not the social media or the users

the only real issue i could see with doing that is like anon clicking on peoples partys, i think optional private profiles are a good way to go too i dont dissagree with that, tho i do worry for the people who put any sort of contacts in their about me
my sentiment still remains if you are to block someone it should mean it as a message that you no longer want engagement with that person thats why blocking exists and there are plenty of other people who can help them too so its not something you have to really worry about if someones driving ya crazy

i still think the blocking system and the way everythings set up is still extremely flawed, my main concerns are:

- you can still see the feeds of people who blocked you if youve added them to your friendslist something you can still do after they blocked you (and something the person who blocked you cannot control because they cannot remove you)

-people who have blocked yous feeds still show up on the notif wall on the "recent posts" and also on trending

- people who we do blocks feeds still show up reguardless there is no way to avoid seeing peoples feeds unless they block you and even then, as shown above, it doesnt take them away completely. i dont think its a bad idea to have blockees posts at least have a "hidden" feature because the amount of times i or others i know have gone on the notif wall and gotten triggered or put in really bad headspaces by people talking about their like personal trauma and just really sensitive topics or see people post the most braindead hate feeds ive seen in my life is staggering and it would be just so awesome if people had a way to like not see it if they didnt want it. i really go on the notif wall sometimes and then instantly go "ah man 🧍"

(hope my tone in this post sounds okay/not rude i dont mean it to be i am very very tired, unrelated to the pokeheroereoes)

@shinyvirizon They can’t see contact links but they can still see your feeds on the notif wall even if you have it toggled to make it so they can’t see your feeds also if they have you friended and you can’t remove people who’ve added you, I know some people put contacts or ways to find them in their about me’s and stuff tho, so that would still be visible to people you’ve blocked. Also blocked people no longer show up on your recent visitors so you would have no idea if they are still stalking or viewing your profile after you blocked them

i think its wonderful that we are getting a bunch of improvements and reworkings with events but im really hoping we can get some sort of update or check in with how things are going with the blocking system/safety overhaul riako was assuring us about

its been almost 7 months since weve heard anything and with all that happens with the notification wall it would be really nice to have

a feature that hides the posts of people we block would be fantastic, i know riako said he was going to do a overhaul of the blocking system i really hope we can get an update soon on how thats going because the site could really use it and its been almost half a year since we've heard anything.

without some sort of update or insight into whats going on with that idk how else to feel than this small update we had is all were gonna get and riakos just hoping we forget about it.

	while we wait for an update, some things i think would be nice to add would be something like not being able to send plushes to blocked people and vice versa, not seeing people whove blocked yous feeds on the trending or newest feeds, and an automatic removal from friendslists when you block them [Read more]

	@anonymousespeon perfectly a-ok to advertise!!! please do ^^ atm it doesnt let blocked people see your feeds nor show blocked users as last visitors (the second part im not super sure im a fan of), and theres a way to not let guests not see your feeds too but its not automatically like that and its a little out of the way: settings -> profile layout -> scroll to the bottom [Read more]

im gonna try an finish these, it might take awhile before i can but i dont like that i just kinda was like "sorry i cant do these anymore" with no explanation, i realized it mightve come off not good and probably was a bit weird to do gbdfgbd i dont like to bring my personal stuff to pokeheroes and i prefer be funny haha guy but im not doing so hot i think my mental heath is the worst its been in a long time and i have a lot of serious stuff goin on (lmao?) that being said im going to try an finish these ones that are queued up after things get a bit better and i can have the heehee funny drawing moments again instead of the sad boohoo waaa drawing moments ive been having everytime i try to draw lol, but i can probably do only one character each, well see how it goes. am i overthinking this whole thing? probably, i tend to do that but it feels wrong to say i was gonna do something and then be like nevermind randomly, all was just bad timing really

its going to be a while before i can make these, i dont really have an eta on when i can start but

@etty if you have a preference on a specific character lemme know
