It's so, so stimmy. Somehow it's been moved an octave or so up and it *still* sounds like the voice is deeper. The violins in the background are nice, but then it has a...it's not quite a pop or rock tone, it's something else entirely. It's kinda like Lindsey Sterling's older songs, sort of, but sadder. It's so, so bittersweet. It's so much more nuanced than a lot of songs I come across, and I really want to hear what the original song sounds like now for some reason. The song reminds me so much about all of my Neurodivergent and Disabled peers. The fact that some of us are force-fed [in the best cases, fed] bleach to "cure" us of being ourselves, and yet people get away this this, a slap on the wrist at best. This state-sanctioned child abuse is called MMS. Even on the darkest nights, when despair sets in, the Autistic community stands strong, together. HunterxHunter Death Note Psycho Pass Magi (both "Labyrinth of Magic" and "Kingdom of Magic") The Seven Deadly Sins Fullmetal Alchemist (not "Brotherhood", but I have seen the "Sacred Star of Milos" for some reason) Pokemon (of course) Sword Art Online (but only until halfway through the series. A friend said I would not like the ending of S1 and YEAH no I do not like it, my friend texted me a day later about it, I cannot say it here so just Google it if you really need to, I will just end that here.) The Devil is a Part-Timer (this one....I got pestered into watching. To be fair, at least it focuses a ~bit~ more on human emotional bonding but yeah.) Fairy Tail (I mean, I haven't gotten far into since it's on my To-Watch list, but I've seen a bit of it. I remember the steel-eating guy and the twin-looking guys with the blue hair [one of their names was Jelal I think but I can't remember is he was the good one or bad one] if that helps at all.) I'm Rusanya98. Or, now a lot of my accounts go by NoPuzzl. I'm a university student, so I tend to be very busy. My university actually has an undergraduate Social Justice major, and as an Autistic who aligns with the Neurodiversity movement this is perfect, but there's a lot of papers. This may bet toe-lining as far as content goes, so a mod/admin should tell me whether or not to edit this out,but for now I'm assuming it's fine: Autistic people don't like Autism Speaks. I will not get into details, I have a diary for a reason, but I will say it's.....it's bad. Now that that is done and over with, I will get to the fun stuff~! Favorite animal: Cat, I guess. Hated Animal: Dogs. I just don't like them, and executive dysfunction does not help me with raising them. Favorite Color: IDK. Either purple, red, or gold. Hated Color: NO BLUE IN APRIL. With that I just realized this website is a monstrosity for me lol. XD Favorite Pokemon: Cyndaquil! It used to be Skitty but the Cyndalovely took over. Hated Pokemon: None. No, not even Magikarp. Did you know Magikarp and Gyarados are based on a Chinese myth/tale/legend? The basic outline is that there is a legendary waterfall, and all of the carp have to swim to the top of it (the top of the fountain being called the Dragon's Gate if I remember correctly). If they succeed, they turn into dragons. :] Favorite food: Chocolate. Coffee. Anything sweet. Hated food: No spicy things, please. :[ Favorite shows: I....don't really know. Pokemon is a default special interest/specc. I think I kind of flow into Death Note once in awhile. Oh, and, apparently, except for my colorful mouth and a higher energy level, a lot of my friends think I'm more like Lawliet. If anyone was wondering. Hated shows: Family Guy. The Big Bang Theory. If it's outright ableist I will likely hate it, which throws quite a few things out of the window. Sorry, no Divergent series from me all. Favorite Books: "Neurotribes". It's by Steve Silberman, it's a book on Neurodiversity from a Neurotypical perspective, and everyone should read it. I also like "Loud Hands: Autistic People, Speaking" as it's an anthology to the ongoing Neurodiversity movement; the ND movement has only been around since the 1990s and yet it already has a founding text, it's amazing and all of the pieces in it are made by Autistic people if anyone wants to take a look. I like L. C. Mawson's "Snowverse" and "Aspects" series if we want accurate and humanizing in-page representation of Neurodivergent people. Hated Books: See hated shows, if you haven't been able to guess what kinds of thing I dislike in media yet. Other Interests: Neurodiversity, drawing, and writing. The three of those merge together pretty often but they are separate things. I don't think I need to infodump anymore on Neurodiversity, but if you have questions ~PLEASE~ contact me, it's so hard to find people to talk to. My drawings are normally just random doodles I made in class. My writing is mostly poetry and poetic prose, so I have no idea if any of you would like them.:/ University Life Stuff: I'm gettings A's (and I think, one C in a class where I am not allowed to doodle, work on other homework, do Neurodiversity research, which tells me a lot tbh). You would think taking notes helps, but the professors move so fast that I have a not-taker for my accommodations (and all professors are required to put up their slides/recordings of lecture if I remember right at all) so, no, I can't do that. Honestly, I keep forgetting to pick up my notes though! Which makes me actually wonder how I'm getting these good grades? I think it's because I'm actually interested (for once ahem) and so I actually do the work. Once I get going, I can't stop. That has nothing to do with being Autistic. I hate people just rub it off as such. Autistic people are not a monolith. For people to just assume various traits about us is so ignorant. People would call me "high functioning" because I go to university, can run a twitter, and post on this site. But what if I also said I can barely drive a car without screwing up, I couldn't even pass Calculus, and I can't cook to the point of burning a pop tart in a microwave? That even though I am verbal, it is much easier for me to use forms of AAC such a typing on a computer? That my sensory overloads cause meltdowns and random crying if they get bad enough, and I need a notetaker in my university classes because my brain cannot keep up with the professors? Yeah. All of those things are true. And most people would deem those things "low functioning" traits. As you can (hopefully) realize, these traits of so-called "functioning" are completely arbitrary and based on Neurotypical standards, rather than the actual individual. This is why more money needs to go into public services, accomodation, sociology/ethnographies of Autistic culture, etc. And NOT the "solutions" that Autism $peaks proposes. What is the point in genetic research if it has been proven Autism is genetic already? Autistic people have come to the conclusion (for good reasons that I cannot post, since these next few words are already borderline rule-toeing) that Autism Speaks and similar organizations are trying to attempt a genocide and eradicate Autistic people/cultures. I did my own research, as an Autistic person, and I have come to the same conclusion. I don't know what else to tell you all, whoever sees this. Just...you adults/mature people. But why the [insert colorful here] is Lawliet from Death Note coded Autistic and no one says a [insert colorful here] thing?! I know he's borderline stereotype, but it's still vexing....or just flat out irritating. Well. That's what "coded" means. With Autistic-coded characters, it's usually pretty close to unintentional (using the word "close" for...reasons...) because the author simply wants to make a character that looks "eccentric" if you get my jist. So Autistic people see this, L is very obviously Autistic, but when the creator is asked they just say he's "weird" or something. This is only one example. Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter is a good example of an Autistic-coded female. I can actually imagine a lot of the characters in Pokemon being Autistic (I mean, don't get me started on SameClothes, special interests, the whole forced-eye-contact-to-battle-me thing....there's so much there)....and....a....lot...MORE... That is not even close to the tip of the iceberg, I am hovering approximately sixteen feet above that. And I worry. A lot. I am only nineteen years old and I am worried that the generation right after mine will be trained that Neurodivergent traits are simply "strange" and so those Neurodivergent people will never get the support they truly need. I'm worried about meltdowns, how will meltdowns be treated in the future? Autistic people already face tons of police brutality for meltdown, those sensory overloads where the floor just shatters like glass.... They already get shot dead even though they usually cannot control this outward explosion, and the reason that explosion happens is because they cannot escape the unfriendly world, their coping skills were taken by ABA therapy, a therapy based on the Feminine Boys Project. The coping skill of hand-flapping was ruined with tacky glue on their palms, being held to the desks as they scream to be let go; of electric shocks just for rocking, flapping their hands. Our bodies are not our own. That is what true ABA therapy does, what it teaches us. I am worried. I always will be, until ABA therapy is obliterated, until Autism $peaks no longer exists in the public eye -- now an official hate group, the blue puzzle piece is a reviled symbol to all. I always will be, until Autism rights are acknowledged as human rights, until we have true equality and justice, not just for the US but the entirety of the human species as we know it. [Read more] |

(And, yes, it is. Ask any Autistic and 99 times out of 100 they will say the same, and the 1 in 100 who don't, they fit the "genius white male" stereotype and literally had no idea/don't care. To mods: I am hoping it is okay to say this. I am Autistic myself and since this is a personal thread I am assuming people who even bother to look at it will not reply to it, and even then I'm assuming others looking is fairly unlikely.
