Eve was silently watching the more experienced fighters converse. She was in too deep, and she knew it. A mafia executive. On her first mission. Frick. Oh, and there’s four of them. And they probably all have combat powers. Honestly, she thought her ability was unique. And, well, it was, but it was probably as useless as it was unique.

Her partner had some sort of barrier power, which would definitely help. But wouldn’t it mean she was trapped too? Was Lydia trapped with them or were they trapped with Lydia?

Backup. They needed backup. In a desperate attempt to call for help, she texted silently to all the ESA members she knew—encrypted, of course—with a location pin. Not that it would do much for them right now.

Right— the four mafia members. They wouldn’t go down without a fight, obviously. Could she slit their throats? Would that reveal her hand too fast? If she stepped through Jing Yu’s barrier, would they assume it was his magic or hers? Finally, she decided what to do. Eve disappeared into the wall behind her.

The thing about becoming phasing was, if you materialized inside of a wall solid, you would shoot outward; there would be simply no space in the atomic structure of the solid—you would have to be dispelled. That’s how physics worked. Probably. So, using this to her advantage, Eve popped out of the ground in front of the new trio, honestly waiting to be attacked.

"Hi, miss...Luck. I'm assuming. I do love your stunning hair, but it appears you're on the wrong side of the conflict unfortuneately." Eve stated with an apologetic smile. Where was this persona coming from? She was never usually snarky or... whatever this could be called. And frankly, she wasn't sure if she had anything to back of her arrogant talk. Of course, she had read all the files, and obviously knew about Ledya and her powers, but an enemy underestimating you is the greatest gift they give you. On the unfortuneate side, her pathetic power protected her from most physical attacks; Ledya's specialty appeared to be the opposite. So, as quick as she could, she pulled her gun and shot Lady Luck in the leg. Or, at least she hoped what was her leg. Was this an illusion? Oh god, what if the mind trick was the doubt creeping through her mind, oh god-

Evie ran up to the commotion, out of breath. Her strange eyes glinted as her wavy, peach-colored hair bounced freely on her back. Although her power was technically Phaze, her murky gray eyes were an oddity that bewitched most who looked at them. The cloudy color reflected her mind— a remnant of what might have once been crystal blue.

She knew she would probably be the last one on the scene, since she didn’t have her own transportation. Her driving knowledge, just like the rest of her memory, was probably locked somewhere inside her, in the unexplored corners of her mind. Unfortunately, she hadn’t yet committed the time to retake driver’s ed.

Evangeline finally arrived at the chaos, seeing battles and medics all in a craze around her. She knew she was going to have to fight, but wasn’t prepared to slit an actual human’s throat for the first time since training. But instead of the panic she was expecting, a calm washed over her, a performer moving through a well-practiced dance. Her hands slid into her the lavender pockets of her baggy hoodie, fingers lacing around the poison-laced butterfly knife and the gun. As her body became translucent and she slid through a lamp post, Evie took a deep breath and scanned the scene. Most people were engaged in battle already, but it didn't take long to see an odd figure slinking away from the scene. She flowed through panicked bodies in the crowd, knife in one hand and gun in the other, buried deep in her pockets, and slid up to the casually strutting figure. "Hi," She whispered in their ear.

Personality: Evie isn’t extremely social, but is kind to those close to her. Many might describe her as withdrawn or quiet, but to those she opens up to, she is described as a cinnamonroll. Unless you are in her inner circle however, Eve can be emotionless and lacking empathy.

History: Formerly a member of the Mafia, Agent 'Angie' woke up five years ago in a bloodstained black dress--- presumably a deal gone wrong. Her memories were erased at the hand of her own father, a high-ranking Mafia boss, in case she was tortured for information. To his dismay, Evangaline's new personality, 'Evie', ended up joining ESA. Her inate skill with computers and instinctive knowledge of the Mafia's system allowed her to climb the ranks until she became third-or-fourth (?) in command. More is to be rp'ed :)

“*ahem. Live in ten…nine…”
Came a voice over the loudspeakers.

Adelaide Robinson sat in the first row of the plaza in the district’s center. Her shiny blue hair and sparkling ruby eyes glimmered under the carefully placed lighting. The performance would begin in a few seconds.

“Eight, seven…”

The decorated stage had banners and lights, aside from a microphone and two shining glass bowls, full of names. The bowls were never used, as every year valiant careers volunteered to participate in The Games. They were there for show, like many things in the districts and capitol alike.

“Five…four…”

Televised appearances were part of Robin’s training. Act confident; not cocky, graceful; yet not lofty. Her confident, kind act would be complimented well by her nervous partner, Casimir. Another reason why she, on behalf of the academy, chose him as the other tribute.

“Two, one…now. Welcome! It’s the hundred-fifth annual Hunger Games, this year with a special twist! This year, the supernaturally gifted…”

The lady’s voice echoed through the stadium, though no one paid genuine attention. She was just there as a performer; an entertainer. Actually, on the contrary, Adelaide—and the twenty-three other tributes, soon to be chosen—were the real performers. They were about to put on a show so spectacular; so captivating; so divine, that they would give their lives to the spectacle. The announcer was just there for the show. Just like the glass bowls. Just like the people in the plaza. The whole thing was a calculated and prepared set for the handsome little spectacle. For the performance. Boy, the capitol did love their performances.

”Now, some of the academy’s finest young individuals, chosen as tributes. First, in the female category…

It was her turn, but Adelaide zoned out. She suddenly felt a poke at her side. It was Mimi, reminding her that they were live and the performance was live.
“Oh, yes. I, Adelaide Robinson, volunteer as tribute!”

And just like that, The Hunger Games begun.
