You are an average human. In my opinion it actually is a fact that every human fits first and foremost as the definition of average human before any other labels ^^ The reactions of people around you can indicate both their lack of knowledge on the subject or just their personality traits and how they think is best to react to the situation. It indicates nothing about you because you're not what people perceive you as. It does not indicate you don't fit as "average human" This is why I think it's so important to learn from other LGBTQIA+ experiences. We have never gathered a community to feel "special" like some people like to claim, but to learn from those who go through the things we do too. My experience with connecting with other people from the community has been very positive because they all had at least basic knowledge of what is a trans person (sometimes maybe even more than I had, tbh), and instead of treating me like a big deal they just welcomed me as an average human. I'm very sorry you've had negative experiences with how people reacted to your identity/orientation but remaining indifferent to it is letting stigma and ignorance sink in. I can't deduct anything from you, but be careful and make sure this isn't affecting how you see yourself, too. As Tord said, it's alright to be indifferent if that's what you chose to, but do be mindful as it can affect others and also yourself [Read more] |

An experience of a trans athlete after gender-affirming surgery, from CBC Some of the important points made by sports scientists, interviewed by BBC From nwlc Honestly? This one was my favorite to read from the three of them. Seeing the introduction with the feminism/fake feminism was convincing me to drop this one, but I'm glad I've actually read through it. There are multiple links to other very important information in the site itself, and the way it's so clear from the articles how excluding transfem athletes also makes cis athletes be targeted and oftentimes harassed for not meeting the "desired femininity standards" or whatever you'd call it. It really takes me back to so many awful comments I saw about Imane Khelif, to the point I can remember her name, even having awful memory and not caring about sports in the slightest. You see, yes, male puberty does give physical advantages compared to how female puberty develops the body, but the topic in question is trans females in sports. Gender-affirmative care is important so a transgender person can not only "feed their individualism and look a certain desirable way", but is also an important step for integration in society, which also brings me to the topic of trans men in sports :) From insidehook. This brings a very important point and does not focus solely in elite sports, it emphasizes how sports and gender-affirmative care are important in socialization and development Lastly, here's a list of different cultures that recognize more than two genders. Having bigger problems does not mean neglecting other's needs is necessary, as survival is not the very only thing a human is capable of pursuing and not the only of human's needs and developed abilities (although it is the most important one for sure haha). Bigotry stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own. Synonyms: narrow-mindedness, discrimination, bias [Read more] |

My brother has invited me and my sister to his house tomorrow so it's pool day yeeey and I'd like to recommend anyone who it may interest.. Swimsuits? Not the basic ones (who thought having exposed inner thighs is a good idea ew ew worst experience ever personally) idk if those have a special/different name, but mine looks quite like this one and having the shorts there help SO. MUCH. Both sensorially and with dysphoria. Bringing something to wear on top of it is also super great, I dislike tight clothing so I loove wearing a big shirt on top of it once I'm out of the pool. Going to feeling like a piece of trash in bikinis to feeling cute and comfortable in my swimwear was such a huge improvement to me I can't recommend this thing enough :3 [Read more] |

I've been closeted mostly because of my mother, she has narcissistic traits and it's totally a tendency of hers to use things against me when I'm at my worst. Giving her any info about what's going on in my life is just pretty much giving her fuel to set me on fire later on :p I've thought about it many times and even though it really bothers me to be misgendered constantly it's not really worth it to uncloset before I'm independent. Sometimes it feels like my main life goal is to avoid her The "you look like a boy" comments are always so funny tho 🤭 bet my parents wouldn't give so much gender-affirming comments if they actually knew I have told my sister so far and she was accepting. She seems a bit confused by a lot of things in the LGBTQIA+ community and I really wish I was more patient and knowledgeable to explain things to her but y'know... I'm not the gender encyclopedia and google is right there. I also want to tell my brother, since he's gay, and a really easy-going person. But I've avoided using masc pronouns irl because I fear I/the people that know it might start using them in front of who's not supposed to know at the time so.. It just feels a little pointless? (I've used masc pronouns once in front of my conservative uncle and freaked out internally so bad :'D but it was because we were playing videogames and I was playing with a male character. He seemed to not notice but I was so nervous in the moment 😭) My brother, surprisingly, is the least sexist person from my family tho, and I can feel how my gender seems to not affect the way he perceives me. I'd of course rather not be misgendered, but being around him gives me much comfort nonetheless ^^ And then there's also my cousin that pulled me out of the closet. They just asked me "are you gay?" and I'm physically unable to lie and started laughing. I ended up just spilling it out, but it's probably the person I'll ever feel the most comfortable to personally talk about this because they're also trans :) later on they've asked me for advice on their gender identity (they're really young so of course it's confusing). This probably means my aunt knows I'm trans too, but she's cool I'm actually fine with that And that last option of what to hope for sounds good enough actually. I've never really understood why people make such a fuss over it anyways [Read more] |
