	That was it! She could have a co-leader;a DEPUTY of some sort. Then....... wait,no! She could lead the guild by.......... Hm...... How will this work? ... OH! Garnet glanced back into the trees,thinking about the rings she'd lost.Maybe the starly's message hadn't been received...?
"But,"Garnet said with newfound positivity,"There's something I need to do."
She pelted through the forest,collecting the three rings,when she realized-The starly's message couldn't have been fulfilled!SHE had the rings,so that meant she was still guild leader.....!
She charged toward the Shelter Cave before thinking....
But where do I go?
Stay with these pokemon....
or return to the guild...?
She sat and thought long and hard.There must be a way to have both...

Garnet left the shadows and started toward Twinleaf town again,afraid to show up.As she drew nearer to the treeline,she heard voices.She padded out of the trees into the open,where ZJS's team was."The wild URSARING had to have been at LEAST level 67!"
"It was huge!"Garnet's heart pounded as everypokemon turned to look at her.She expected them to get mad and turn away,but their faces brightened."Garnet!We were upset when you left!"Citrus bounded over to Garnet."Why'd you go?We saw an URSARING as soon as you left;we thought it'd fainted you."Garnet looked down at her muddy fur,looking for an excuse."I,uh.....it did,"She stammered."It,uh-it came at me.I ran and fell before getting away...!"

Garnet opened her eyes.Maybe it was all a dream.Maybe there was no ZJS and no raid and no crying Maura and no crumbling Lead Rock.She leaped to her paws and was about to send some absol out onto a visit for revives. But when she looked around dust still littered the ground;the rock was still falling apart;the clearing was empty and it was still raining.She shuddered and started her way back down.She heard voices calling her name;Floaty and Citrus and ZJS and Polaris and Maxx,all calling "Garnet!" into the air.She lifted her head,tempted to go back to Twinleaf and lay in the sun,but stopped herself.Instead,she shrank back into a dent in the Lead Rock where it had crumbled.....shame stabbed her belly when she heard the voices of ZJS's pokemon.
Floaty:"I thought she was gonna stay."
PS:"I guess she couldn't work with a trainer..."
Maxx:"But she loves me.I know she does,mama,I know she does.She smiled at me."
Polaris:"I know,dear,but she had to go.Her friends needed her."
Citrus:"And we were just starting to know eachother,too."

Garnet glanced up at the crumbling Lead Rock;had the guild really been abandoned so long?Were the absol still in the shelter cave? She scrambled on top of the Lead Rock and sat down,her tail drooping,and stared around the guild.After a long time of staring,she raised the claw with the last ring-kinship-and shook it off into the dirt.A gentle rain started up,dripping through the thick branches and plastering Garnet's fur to her sides."Is this really what the guild has come to?And nothing serious really happened?" She curled herself up and lay down,tucking her ears at back the sound of a tree being smacked.

Confusion and hurt stabbed Garnet's belly.She stood up and nosed her way through the trees that edged Twinleaf town and started into the forest,stopping by a dip in the ground.She edged her way into the pit and stared at the rings on her claws-one for kinship,one for friendship and one for leadership.She'd earned these from what she'd done for the guild....Garnet flicked the leadership ring off her claw and into the dirt,before hesitantly sending the friendship one after it.She stood up and headed for the clearing that used to be the guild.

Maxx the eevee stumbled over and hopped on Garnet's back,tumbling over her and clinging to her head blade.Garnet winced at the pain from where it chipped but didn't say anything,just looked up and smiled at Maxx."I wonder what he'll evolve into." Citrus blinked."I don't think ZJS will evolve him.He already has all the evolutionary form for eevee,except sylveon-"Citrus snorted-"And I don't think he'll evolve him into that.Too many ribbons;it looks like a girl."

Garnet couldn't believe it.Could a footstep really say all that?She leaned forward and examined her own,but she couldn't see anything.

ZJS looked relieved,and he left the house.Garnet scampered after him.Would she pick ZJS,or the guild...?
She thought this for a long time,through the rest in Twinleaf Town,before making her decision.
She'd stay with ZJS;her brother could take over the guild.

In the morning,she left the house early and pattered down route 201 until she found a Starly;she told it to tell the guild that she wasn't coming back and she was happy where she was,safe with her trainer,and that her brother could take her place.

Garnet stepped inside the house,a strange man in the corner.ZJS talked to him for a moment before Garnet was beckoned forward.She walked across the strange,wet floor and paused,seeing she'd left footprints."Why am I here?"The man said suddenly as he examined the footprints."Why did ZJS catch ME?I,an oft-shunned absol,am surprised......Maybe I can grow to this."Garnet was surprised.That was EXACTLY it.

As Floaty spun in a cheery circle and Maxx did a little dance,Garnet couldn't help but feel happy.Citrus said something to Polaris and she went back into the dark,returning with a small egg.
"This egg has been here for months.It's called BAD EGG,and ZJS got it from Alice.Do you know what's inside of it?"
Garnet felt her chest tighten;this egg must've been what made Alice release Torrent!
She hadn't abandoned him...She just wanted to keep him safe!
Garnet gasped."Don't hatch it,"She pleaded."It's bad,that's why it's a BAD EGG..."

Garnet felt her pokeball being lifted and set into a bag beside five others.A large orange 'X' was visible in the darkness,and a strange voice that sounded like a balloon called out."There's a newcomer!"
A drifblim floated out of the darkness,followed by a large empoleon,then a glaceon and an orange mightyena.A small eevee stumbled behind.
The drifblim waved its strange flat arms."Hello,newbie!I see ZJS has caught you.And it looks like you're a shiny!" The mightyena looked a bit taken aback but didn't comment."I'm Floaty,"The drifblim continued."The empoleon is PS,the glaceon is Polaris,and the eevee is Maxx.But the mightyena,he's ZJS's baby brother's.His sibling gave it to him as a gift.His name is Citrus."Garnet relaxed a bit.These pokemon seemed friendly,even though the mightyena looked a bit sad.

The bushes crashed as three trainers burst into the clearing."Look at all the absol!"one called.The other nodded excitedly,while the third turned to go before the first grabbed his wrist."We should catch a few!Look,there's even a shiny one!Come on,ZJS,you can't say you don't want it!"She pointed at Garnet.The third trainer frowned."Maybe Torrent is here..."
Garnet wailed a dark pulse,waking every absol up,and leapt back onto the Lead Rock.
"Everyone,stay calm and evacuate the guild!Head for the deep forest,and shelter in the hollow oak!"
The absol began filtering through the back of the guild,dodging pokeballs from the first two trainers as the third was shaking his head and arguing with them.
Garnet turned to follow the other absol as the last one left the clearing as the third trainer yelled,"Fine!I'll catch it!"Garnet tried to dodge the pokeball but was enveloped in darkness.
