@NovaSplitz Same, regarding romance. I generally just dislike the way it's handled. :'D

Quite a few people are trying to get me into Dangan Ronpa. I'm planning to give it a try soon, ahaha. I don't think it's on Netflix, but I'll go check after I post. (edit: sadly, it's not there!)

I think the best description I've heard for it was "And Then There Were None High-school AU *Up to Eleven*". If that'll help at all. :d

You sound kind of like me, taste-wise, ahahaha.

First love indeed lol and oh boy. I've got a short list off the top of my head, be thankful for the spoiler box. xD;

Show hidden content

Have you tried watching Jericho? It's at least three of the genres you mentioned liking. I gave it five stars, pffft. It's my favorite apocalypse-type show. There's a lil romance oh what I'd give to make it none, but it's definitely. not. girly. Except maybe one of the characters. That's about it. Am recommend, 100%. .w. I own the boxed set yeah lol shhh

If you're okay with light-hearted banter and jokes and stuff, Warehouse 13 is packed with the supernatural. And gives some interesting twists on history, I guess. It's from Sy-Fy so cheesiness is guaranteed from time to time Also, not that much romance, thankfully.

White Collar is actually Crime, I think. It's probably not too close to anything you're looking for, but I really enjoyed the plot. It's an epic, epic plot. Pffft, I remember thinking, nah! I like action. Suspense. Drama. What's this almost comedy doing in my recommendations column? I dunno, just thought I'd put it here in case you ever were desperate. There's romance once in a while, but not girly. ^^

Girly would be Ghost Whisperer, which is horror, and cheesy a lot of the time. The plot's... sort of... interesting, tho'. "I see dead people" lady helps ghosts cross over, noticing they're slowly getting more violent and interactive. for season 1 at least But to quote TVTropes, the episode layout is pretty much, "ghost makes its presence known, Melinda flutters about trying to help, Melinda helps the ghost with its business, everyone cries, ghost goes into The Light." I mean, I avoid all shows girly, but somehow fell into this one (at least a small bit). I'd say, only if you're bored. :p

Supernatural, maybe? It's four of your preferred genres, and actually technically Post-Apocalyptic at a few points, even if the world doesn't end *all the way*. Downside is that there is romance, mostly from Dean, but Sam's got his moments. drat. I know. Least favorite part of the show right there. why. why. it would've been so awesome without that.

Uh... Daredevil (TV-MA) counts as action. There're a few notable scenes which give it that rating, but they're easily skipped, and don't appear all that often. It's said to be "darker" than the rest of the MCU, but if I'm being truthful, Agents of SHIELD disturbed me more at times and that was rated a fluctuating TV-PG. Mostly it's the lack of magic and supernatural circumstances to fall back on if things get too realistic (which they do).

I'm, er, done for now. owo; You've probably seen at least one of those already, but at least I tried. |D

@celebity I'm pretty sure you can't get rid of the spoiler box. It plays a part in glitching the code so the Custom Widget works properly.

And as for changing the "last visitor" text color, take a look at this post and see if it helps? .w.;

why hadn't I seen this earlier
Support, 100%, for previous reasons stated! Diana's addition to the suggestion is a good one, as well.

Having a counter would be really useful; I always avoid having multiple, active conversations through PMs for fear that I might miss one. And as stated before, it'd be very nice to know if you've received any new messages since the mail icon first appeared. :d

Grrr. Camp's killing me over here. Hope you guys are doing better with your writing projects in general. :'>

Twofold Hourglass Plots are such a real pain, I'm considering picking up the NaNo Rebel flag and planting it outside my metaphorical tent. I'm a week in, and I guess I just can't wrap up the second one right now. I might count what words I have and then change gears. Throw in the raggedy towel and give up the ghost for adoption.

Wish me luck with writing a fanwork instead. 8'D

Ender, I hope you're feeling better~

Eeee, which colors of boxes/keys do you need most? I'd be happy to donate pretty much all of them (17 boxes and 24 keys at the moment) ... but that's a lot of trades. OTL

I could also donate plates so you have more to trade with or something. ♫꒰・‿・๑꒱

Oh, and as a side note, I know some people who are always/currently Rebels. I was one myself this past April. |D;

Nothing wrong with it! Rebels are definitely welcome in the community (even encouraged if that's what it takes to get them into NaNo, hehehe). And they get their own sub-forum, the lucky ducks!

[chants] Pull them in, pull them in! get them writing if you can! 8'D

Any kind of writing's allowed, it's just a matter of whether it makes you a NaNo Rebel or not.

But to answer your question further, yeah! that's allowed, and it also makes you -not- a Rebel, since it's one book. If it were several separate works, yes, still allowed, just doesn't make you a traditional member.

I'm gonna go for an easy 25k this time around, because I don't think I can 50k my way throughout the whole year, lol.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PH! Oh my gosh. We're really two years old already, huh? NO WAY. Can't believe it!

Let's eat cake and play kazoos to celebrate!! xD

I, too, remember when... oh wait, we're not supposed to get all sentimental and stuff. Hehehe. Too bad. I'll be reminiscing in my thoughts for the rest of the day. :p Can't spell "sentimental" without "mental" lol

Thank you, Riako, and thank you, staff! Can't wait to explore Emera Square and see what's happening! Now get some sleep you silly admin

NaNo starts July 1, so I'll probably be less active on PH starting then. But if you think I won't check in on you writers, you've got another thought coming. >: 3

Dakar, good luck with your short story! I love sci-fi, haha. May I ask how many words long it is so far? The definition of "short story" is pretty lax these days.... I'm more partial to writing shorter pieces than multi-chaptered things myself, so I might be able to help. ^^

Nope, there isn't an age limit for Camp (tho' I'm pretty sure they recommend 13+). Speaking of age, they also host the Young Writers Program, which is geared more toward younger audiences, it seems. ^^

(edit): this page concerning age may or may not be helpful since the extra NaNo months aren't mentioned.

Yay, go for it! It can be a surprisingly great motivator (comparing word counts, mostly). xD;

I'm setting my goal a little lower than last time, because a) the last one was strangely tough, and b) I'm still deciding which story I'm gonna work on. Guess I have to choose pretty soon. /D

Actually, NaNoWriMo "prime" (aka National Novel Writing Month) is in November, where the minimum goal is to write 50,000 words.

Once or twice more during the middle of the year is "Camp" NaNo, where you can set your own writing goals. That's the one that's a-happening (this time) in July. The Camping months change from time to time, haha.

If you have any questions about that, I think I'm qualified to answer. XD

Yooooooooo! I have a quick question because curiosity: the second Camp NaNo of the year starts in less than a week, and I was wondering if anyone else was planning to join?

I'd probably be more motivated if I knew PH people were in on it, just sayin'. :p

And re: critique - if you want me specifically to help you out, you miiight have to mention me by name or PM me. Old beta habits die hard. Really, really, really hard. Sadly. :'D

(edit): also, going to try my hand at the book prompt. 42, don't fail me now!
