Haiku smirked a bit. " In case you forgot, Voice-in-my-head, I have Dew on my head right now. I can't just walk off. Just let me find her tunnels." She started to sniff around, and in a few minutes, found Dewbeam's tunnels. "Ok, these are her tunnels, now I just need to get her off my head, then I can go." After a lot of head tilting and almost falling, Haiku finally got Dew off and put her in the tunnels. "Sleep tight, Dew. I'll be back later. Don't get into trouble." Haiku trotted off after covering Dew's tunnels with a leaf. "Wait, where am I going?"

Haiku frowned. "On your list of things wrong with me, is 'made a deal with a person I never met' and 'lied to Dew' there? 'Cause it's on my list. Along with me talking to a puddle. And leave me alone about my calculations, It's how I'll know I'll live or die. Or if Dew will get in trouble." Haiku shook her head. "This is either a dream or a mental breakdown, stop talking to a puddle, Haiku. Why am I talking to myself? Gahhh! This is all some messed up version of reality. I'm not really talking to a puddle, I'm just dreaming or going insane."

Haiku growled. "Don't make me feel worse about this." Dewbeam looked down at Haiku. "Hey, you ok, Haiku?" Haiku stiffened up a bit, almost blushing. "Yes, I was just thinking about something. Just take a nap." Dewbeam flopped over, snoring. "She can fall asleep in a nanosecond. If it was a sleeping race, she'd win." Haiku stared down into a puddle. "What on earth is wrong with me. I have to be either dreaming or crazy. That, or I just lied to Dew. Dew, of all people!"

Haiku had been sitting for a while now. She was still trying to figure out all of what happened. "So, my 'worst nightmare' shows up, says he can save my life if I kill a dragon, and he says to not tell Dew. I am either dreaming or crazy, and I'm not dreaming." She stood up and sniffed around to try to find Dew. After picking up her scent, she walked for a good while until she found her. "Hi, Dew." Dewbeam looked at Haiku with a puzzled expression. "Um, I'm sorry, I don't..." Haiku hid a laugh and smiled. "In no language is 'midnoonish' a time, word, or phrase." Dewbeam's eyes lit up. "Haiku! Oh my gosh, I thought you were dead!" Haiku muttered to herself, "I was close to..." "But then you come back, all dark colored, and alright! Wait, how are you alright? You were near death when I last saw you." Haiku's now dark fur hid a blush. "Oh! I had a herb near the river, fixes everything!" Dewbeam just looked skeptical, but shook her head and smiled. "I'm just glad you're fine! And I was about to collapse of exhaustion! Running is hard! Can I get a lift?" Haiku tilted her head down for Dewbeam to climb onto, but when Dewbeam got up, she had a million questions. "What did this herb look like? Does it cure stomachaches? How about muscle soreness? Can I get a bit to keep in my tunnel? Is there a seed I can have that grows it?" Haiku groaned, answering with, "Yes" or, "No". "I don't know, yes, yes, no, no." "Come on, Haiku! Did you eat all of it or something?" "Yes, end of story. Can we go back now?" Dewbeam groaned, puffing up her cheeks and acting angry the whole way back.

Frost had set all the food down and walked back to the kitchen. She had forgotten to make herself food again. "I always forget to make myself breakfast, but the other's meals come first." She had started to make herself some steak, but Whisper's words echoed in her ears.

You don't want all of the Halflings to die, do you?
Then prepare, stop pushing it off.
She shook her head. It's just a dream, it's just a dream, she thought to herself, but she wasn't really sure. They were always so vivid. It was like Whisper was real. Frost shook her head, knowing that a person couldn't just appear in your dreams every night. But, can they? She almost laughed at this thought, thinking this nightmare was just some weird subconscious thing. It couldn't be real. It couldn't. It can't.

Frost nodded, giggling a bit at the loud noise. "And it sounds like your plate will be clean when you finish! First, we gotta wake up the others. Then we can eat." She waited a moment for Amber to get up, then walked to the other rooms, telling the people (Halflings?) in them that breakfast was ready. Then, she walked back to the kitchen, ignoring Raven, and grabbing everyone's food. She walked to the dining area, which used to be a meeting room, and put the foods at everyone's spot.

Frost was curled up in her room cell thing, trying to sleep. It was almost morning, and she only got a few moments of sleep. She dozed off, but when she opened her eyes, she was there again. The dark, empty space. She was there too. "Whisper." Frost growled a bit, trying to figure out how to move in the dream again. "What are you doing here?" Whisper only smiled, giggling a bit at her anger.
You know why, Frost.
You know I can't leave.
You know that this still needs to be fixed.
All of this still needs to be fixed.
The Humans that are left are still out there.
While you Halflings stay in here, protected.
You said you'd fix this.
Frost shook her head. "We-we can't fix this yet, we still need time to prepare." Zephyr whizzed by Frost head, landing on Whisper's shoulder.
Get prepared.
You know the beasts are still out there.
They could come and attack at any moment.
You don't want all of the Halflings to die, do you?
Then prepare, stop pushing it off.
Frost then woke up with a start, noticing it was morning. She may be right, but we're still not ready, she thought. She got up, realizing that the others would be getting up soon, and she needed to prepare breakfast. She plodded to the area they referred to as a "kitchen", even though it was originally a snack room, and started to hum. She made sure to keep quiet, knowing that she could wake the others up. She then went to making everyone's breakfast, Whisper's words echoing inside her head.
(This seems long, darn you Whisper and your weird talking!)

You're an experiment on crossing people with animals. The experiments were a success, but the beasts came, destroyed everything, and now you live in the labs you were "created" in. There are other people/animal hybrids in the Labs, so you aren't lonely. The experiment notes called you "Halflings" or something.

The strange girl disappears as you wake up. The familiar location unfolds as you open your eyes. The Labs have been the source of the problem, at least, that's what everyone thinks. You don't care, as they have made a good home. Your first memory was in these labs, specifically, in a room. The room was covered in bars, to either keep you in or keep them out. They observed you, studied you until the strange, corrupted beasts came. They destroyed everything. All of the research was gone, but you were safe. You have lived here for a long time, forgetting about the destruction outside. Most everything was destroyed, but you didn't know it. You have never left the Labs, but that was because you were safe. There was no need to go. But the dreams with the girl have happened more often. You don't understand, but it doesn't matter.

Ok, so I'll tell you guys what this is about, since even I'm confused by that. So, you're an experiment on crossing people with animals. Haiku narrowed her eyes. "A d-dragon. S-something three t-times my size. M-my ch-chances of success a-are 10%, B-but I'll t-try." She closed her eyes and chuckled. "And my w-worst nightmare is n-named after a bird. A majestic c-creature who owns the sky. A Falcon is a wonderful b-bird. A f-fierce hunter." She shook her head. "Sorry, I was th-thinking." She groaned as she staggered to her feet, a wave of pain coming over her. "I-I will try my b-best. But I n-need to find D-Dew. She's 20 times the fighter I am."

Dewbeam had ran for a while now. "I can't breathe...why is running so hard!?" She scampered around, running through a sea of grass. She occasionally stopped to scream, "Hey! Help! Anyone?" Dewbeam groaned, wondering if she should run to find Haiku, but she realized she couldn't do that without help.
