"Of course." Abeline turned serious. "I'm not familiar with this city, but there's bound to be a coffee shop or something. With all this money, though, we could probably find a cheap hotel to rent out for a little bit while we gather ourselves." She tilted her face thoughtfully, staring at upwards. "Do you think our... uh, entourage will expect us to go somewhere in the open, or remain hidden?"

Abeline gave a mischievous smile. "Oh, I think we got a little. We didn't do too well, you know? Like, we nabbed a wallet or two. Nothing much." Innocently, she hid her hands behind her back, looking up at the two boys. "How much did you guys get?"

(OMG! I am so sorry! I was so busy irl and on FR that I totally forgot about this! D:)
Abeline dipped her head in one quick movement. "Yeah, I agree. I'm just worried that you're going to be a total celebrity by nightfall, with all those cameras pointed in your direction. At the very least, you are going to be the talk of the city." She tried to give Fallow a 'toats-jelly-girl!' smile, but it came out more like a grimace. Despite her attempts to lighten the situation, it was undoubtedly a worrying one.

"Yeah," Abeline agreed quietly. After her excitement died down, she was struck by how normal everyone seemed. Even with Fallow causing an uproar... it was painful to remember. In that moment, the demon had seemed like a ticked-off teen activist. It seemed so, so normal. Abeline's lips tugged downwards, the light in her eyes dying a bit.

But she pulled them back up into a forced smile. "When do you think they're going to get back here?" She asked, passing across some of the money.

Abeline trotted after Fallow, pushing her way through the crowd. The people were excitedly gathering around the hotdog man, some demanding to know what was in his hotdogs, others asking for him to sign a slip of paper. She imagined that videos of the 'crazy hot-dog lady' would start to appear on the internet, and this guy would find himself an unwitting celebrity.

Finally, Abeline caught up with the demon, a smile brushing on her face. "I nabbed so much while you were keeping them busy!" Abeline whispered excitedly, showing her clenched fists holding cash and pockets weighed down by an assortment of trinkets.

(Maybe that was my original though ^^' My mind works in weird ways, so I wouldn't be surprised if that what I was aiming at)

Abeline bit her lip, noticing how the crowd did not seem to want to take its attention off her. This... this could be a problem. The less eager ones were lingering, raking Fallow with their eyes. The more outrageous ones were filming her, getting up in her face and getting silent close-ups. Everyone was dead silent, except for the humiliated hotdog guy who was shouting a counter opinion.

Finally, someone in the crowd shouted, "JUSTICE!"

The tension in the crowd flooded away, as if a plug had been unstopped. People broke out in cheers, booing at the poor hotdog guy. That... wasn't what I was expecting.

Abeline stifled a giggle as she watched Fallow scream at the hotdog guy. Judging by his refusal to defend himself, she could deduce that most of what Fallow was shouting was actually true.

But besides the man who would soon find his business in the gutter, a large crowd was gathering around the girl yelling about chemicals and whatnot to the man whose face was growing gradually redder. With anger or embarrassment, Abeline couldn't tell at this distance.

However, that wasn't pertinent to her. The distracted city-folk were easy to pick-pocket. Their smartphones were out of their pockets, and their eyes were on their out-of-pocket smartphones. The distraction was absolutely perfect.

As the nabbed goods started to weigh down her pockets and the green she had stolen began to poke out from her grabby hands, Abeline attempted to grab the attention of Fallow to give the signal.
(Also, I totally just realized I've been spelling "Abilene" wrong this whole time XD)

Abeline nodded. "Accusing the man could work, and it certainly would attract more attention than tripping someone or knocking the stand over. You'd have to do it perfectly, and make sure that every one knows that it is your right and duty to bring attention to the fact that these hotdogs are subpar in taste and are even worse for you. Get the crowd on your side; the moment they turn in favor, the distraction is over and the battle is lost."

Abeline hesitated a moment before giving a brisk nod. Of course Fallow couldn't pickpocket. Everyone's eyes would be on her at all times. Which made her the perfect distraction.

"Good idea! What are you planning to do? You could, like, put on a performance where you are 'pretending' to be a demon. That'd be ironic. You could freak out a lot of people by randomly quoting Shakespeare. Actually, they probably don't have him down in the underworld, do they? Um... you could accuse the hotdog guy of foul hotdogs, but that might get us arrested..."

Abeline nodded, taking a deep breath, attempting to angle her thoughts away from... her thoughts. Being with Fallow would be interesting, to say the least. She didn't know Fallow's strategies yet, and talking to a person (or closest to that) would be intriguing, since she hadn't done it for so many years.

Abeline blinked, withdrawing from her thoughts. "Do you think over there would be a good place to...?" She nodded her head by a hotdog stand, where an overly plump man was shouting baloney about his best wieners, that they were better than any of the other ones. Abeline offered a small smile.

(this is so fitting for Valentine's Day lol)
Abeline felt a strange pang of... what? Excitement? Joy?

No, ridiculous. Why would she? She felt nothing for...

Oh. Oh no.

As the realization dawned on her, a bright blush filled her cheeks and horror rang out in her mind. Nononononononono... the last time this had happened, it had not gone well. She had to end this feeling.

So, as best as she could, she pushed it down, angling her face away from the twins to hide her blush, and mustered a cheery voice. "Of course!" She said, smiling.

"Okay!" Abeline grinned, a genuine one this time. Her nerves were already pricking with excitement at the thought of going out and stealing again, though not in fear, but in excitement. "Of course, we still have to choose who's going with whom. I don't really care who I end up with. Does anyone have any ideas?"

"Hmm..." Abeline's hand strayed to her chin, rubbing it as though a beard were there. Her eyes narrowed as they flickered across Trauma's pale face, trying to gauge whether he was lying or not. Finally, she gave a sigh and stood back a little. It wasn't so much that she believed him... it was more that the people around her were beginning to give the group odd looks. "Alright." She said, shaking her head. "I'm sorry for bringing that up," she tried to add a bit of warmth to her voice. "It's just... I don't want to be tricked into doing something stupid." She gave a half-hearted laugh. "Well... are we going to... y'know...? Do you guys still want to split up?"

"Why were you there?" Abeline asked. "I mean, it seems pretty convenient that within days of finding Marshall and Fallow that you showed up. I hadn't even known that there were other humans with powers like mine until I met them. So... why were you there?"

Abeline smiled. "Alright!" She said cheerfully. "I hate to be the one asking all the questions, but who do you think we should each pair up with? I mean, maybe it would be better if Marshall and Fallow went together, since you know, they have been relying on each other for quite some time and will probably do better with each other rather than Trauma or me. But... you two have been doing this for much longer than I have, and maybe even Trauma." She paused, eyebrows knitting. "Now wait a second," she muttered to herself, eyes narrowing. "We don't even know much about Trauma. I know that he hasn't hurt us yet, but don't you find it a little suspicious that he showed up right when the demons appeared." She hooked her thumbs in the belt loops sewn onto her jeans. "In fact, has he told you guys anything at all about himself since I was out?"

Abeline shrugged. "No, I wasn't suggesting that. But... it might be better if we split up. That way, we can cover more area." She frowned for a moment, going over the cons. "Then again, we might be ambushed, or we might lose each other. Well, I haven't been in this business for awhile. What do you guys think we should do?"

(No problem! ^^)
Abeline smiled at Marshall. "Thanks," she said. "Like I said, you learn a few things." She glanced around, noticing the man who had owned the pocketwatch fish into his pocket to discover it gone. He began to grow hysterical, claiming it had taken him months to save up for it. Despite her hard nature, Abeline felt the tinniest sliver of pity for the man; he seemed truly upset. "But... we shouldn't stay here long. People will grow suspicious if things just suddenly start disappearing, all in the same area."

Abeline linked her arms across her chest, amusement wrinkling her eyes. "Well..." she began. "I know that humans weren't in your studies but was pick-pocketing?" A wicked grin flickered across her face as she waved a watch in the air, the light glinting off of it. "You learn a thing or two once you move away from home, I'm sure you've learned." Abeline grinned, looking at them expectantly before pocketing the watch.

Abeline nodded. "I was just about to say that." She agreed, a small smile twisting her lips. She remembered the days where she was obsessed with cosplaying, and had an all-out war with her parents when they wouldn't let her wear an outfit for her favorite anime character to a convention. She couldn't blame them; the outfit was little more than a bikini.

Her smile faded.

"So... while we have this time, what should we do? I mean, we have no money. All my money was in my bag that I was carrying around, and I have on idea where that went. There wasn't a lot in there, but probably enough to buy a burger for all of us. I don't like to spend money in the cities and towns." She shrugged. "Well, we can't now. So... what should we do?"
