Caroline walked into the town for the first time and breathed in the crisp air, much different from her hometown. Slateport smelled like, well, slate. She allowed her Taillow, Nightingale, to fly just above her to stretch her wings. Caroline's mind was still blank and troubled but she tried to put it behind her. She had a shot at a new life now, as she wasnt going to waste it. She wondered the town and explored the place she would call home until she could find another steady place to live.

She hoped the people here were nice. Nicer than the ones back in Hoenn, anyway.

Deirdre and Dolce walked up to the school. Deirdre could barely contain her excitement, as per usual. Dolce, however excited she was on the inside, remained blank as a piece of paper on the outside. The two girls had been best friends for three years and were now going to learn to be trainers together.

Deirdre: "This. Place. Is. AMAZING! What do you think, Majesty?" Deirdre looked down at the Snivy racing around her feet. Majesty nodded her head and let out a cheerful cry.

Dolce: "The architecture on this building is simply exquisite....." Dolce brushed her hair out of her eyes to see it better, whipping out her cell phone to capture the memory. Her Piplup, Cthulu, chirped happily.

Deirdre: "Tell me again why you named your Piplup Cthulu?" Dee motioned her hand towards the little penguin.

Dolce: Dolce let out of low laugh. "Dont ask questions."

Alright sure, that's fine. And no it's not innapropriate in that sense, but here we go, heres what happened then!

Caroline snuck out of her foster home due to them being mentally abusive towards her. She was forced to take care of the younger children while her foster parents did nothing to help. They paid no attention to her, but plenty to her adoptive siblings, likely because they were younger and more innocent and a 17 year old was not. Eventually she got sick of the neglect and left. She was done being used by the many families shed been with and traveled to Slateport City. She only had half the funds necessary to travel from Hoenn to Kanto, but the captain agreed to smuggle her on board for half price after she explained what exactly she was running from. When she arrived in Kanto, she dyed her hair black, factory reset her phone, even began changing the way she dressed and talked. She spent a three months in Kanto traveling to find work to save up money to become at least semi financially stable. She had to steal to keep herself afloat but thankfully was never caught. Soon after, she finally left for the Town of Thres.

Oh yes, absolutely. Physically it would be easier for Caroline to stay in Hoenn, but with her it's not a matter of what's easier, its what's best for her in her mind. She wanted a completely fresh start from Hoenn, as many many bad memories lay there. She doesnt want to live in that region anymore, and would rather forget that it existed altogether. She decided on Kanto because it was far enough away and there was a town there rumored for its escape from reality.

Essentially, although completely illogical, she does it. It's completely spontaneous and she knows that, but well, people tend to make irrational and emotion based decisions when they are shoved into a corner.
