@Somebody
Oooo, that is painful. I don't often write stuff down, except my ideas, so I don't really have that problem, but I can imagine the issues of changing characters' names and stuff. I usually play around with my characters a lot before beginning a story, so most of them are set in stone. There was this one time, though, where my friends and I were writing this story (in sixth grade, and not even half of us had written a novel before... so you can imagine how bad the story was and the intense bickering between us), and my other writing friend decided she didn't like the name of the female character, the protag's love interest. So, I suggested Paige, and Paige it was... for awhile. Then, randomly, I came back to the doc and found that the name had been changed to Cat. C-A-T. Not K-A-T. Okay, okay, whatever, I'll just go back, use the find and replace tool to change it to Paige.

The Paige-like foxes stared at me, their eyes wide with curiosity.

I may or may not have forgotten that the word 'cat,' as in the mammalian quadruped, was used a lot of times as well, maybe even as often as the character's name was. So, sentences like... that were literally everywhere. Eventually, we settled on the name Cynthia, but the name never sat well with me, since I can only think of a Cynthia as the champion of the Sinnoh region, not our darker-skinned, black-haired female protag.

So, yeah. I'm so sorry. That was so long

@Reckless
;o; Wow! That's difficult... I've only changed species once that I can remember off the top of my head. I had this idea for a male, human thief, but then his character changed completely and heavy-coat-wearing, gruff thief he was no longer.
I changed him to a bipedal cat lol

@somebody
Do you work on google docs?? If so, there's a way to mass-change words. I recently had to do that and discovered the little tool. ^^

@everyone
Congrats, Somebody! Your story really deserved to win! <3

Also, I have a serious, non-writing related question. Is there a movement to suddenly have PMD avatars??? First, it was just a few people and now it's everyone and I'm just very confused. ^^'

Ooo! Writing camp! I was going to sign up for this writing camp, but I was too late and found out that it wasn't really what I was looking for anyway. Boo hiss. But I hope that in my upcoming high school years that I can get into the Iowa Writers' Workshop. :D That'd be a dream come true, tbh.

@everyone talking about art
I normally don't plot out my stories or characters before writing, but in the end, it just tangles me up and gets me confused, so with my current story, I plotted out the beginning. Now, however, I'm in uncharted territory.

also yes, digital art is the bane of my existence

@Somebody
I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS A THING! :0 I signed up yesterday, and am now eagerly awaiting random cabinmates.

Also, a group collab might be a little... chaotic if we're going for something comprehensible. I agree with Somebody, and if it doesn't turn out to be a game, maybe we can agree on characters/a loose story plot before we begin writing? I dunno, that's just my take on it! ^^

@Reckless and @Everyone Else
I like having prompts that are a bit more structured. I love a challenge, and thinking outside of the box is thrilling and, for lack of a better word, different. So, let's say, the next week's prompt was humor. My jokes are dumb, and usually all I get is awkward silence when I make the stupid decision to crack one. It would be a challenge to write a humorous piece, but you can be sure I'd take it up!
I really love open-ended prompts (on FlightRising, there's this thing called 'So You Think You Can Write,' and it's basically a bunch of writers writing each other's open-ended prompts), I really do. I just think that more specific prompts can be more challenging, however, and I think that's what prompts are supposed to do.
I just thought I'd throw my voice into the mix with everyone! ^^

also, hooray final-day sudden prompt writing. I might try to fit something in, but my family wants to go to the pool for hours and I have no idea how good it's going to be. help me

EDIT:

@Somebody
Wow! I read your Fantasy-Land entry and it was stunning! The beginning description of her room was beautiful! Great job!

Oops! I was so intent on replying to Lucky that I forgot to read over your post!

Sounds great so far! Only thing I noticed was that the 'it's' in "...being the room outside of it’s ceiling..." should be its. :) Otherwise, looks good!

@Nishinoya
I only noticed like two mistakes. ^^

One, the 'it's' in "The Seed lost it's power..." should be its, since it's possessive, not 'it is.'

Also, "»What did just happen?«" could stand to get rid of the 'did.'

That's all! Otherwise, nice story! PMD is my favorite game out of all the Pokemon games, and for good reason. With an amazing soundtrack and an even better story, it is my favorite game...

Don't ever forget.

@Reckless
Sounds good! There's only one thing that might need to be changed up that I noticed.

You said that Keir doesn't like using his power in the open, but since the two characters are seemingly in the middle of nowhere in a snowstorm, I don't think that's a plausible reason for him to not use his power. How about something like, 'the flame probably wouldn't even survive in this wind, anyways.' Other than that, it sounds really interesting so far!

@FF2
I really like that idea! Maybe GLaDOS can use that to her advantage somehow?? Like, she knows how people from outside the game world work, that they might as well be programmed themselves?

@Luckylikeit
Ooo! I really like the second one!
also, yes. whenever I'm writing, I have to double check to make sure I'm not screwing up my tenses

@FF2
Now I'm really interested! What's your idea?

@meme
I'd go with Eevee. I do agree with all the people saying it's overrated, but it is the most "adaptable" of pokemon, seeing as it has such a wide range of opportunities to evolve into. It even has the ability 'adaptability,' to boot!

@FF2
Sounds like a good idea! I'd add a little bit of flare to really capture attention, since there are a lot of character-gets-trapped-in-video-game books. Maybe a twist ending/misleading narrator? :o

@everyone
:D Haha, mine was the second one. <3 It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be, and I didn't even get a chance to edit it. I realized while I was writing it that I had changed tenses mid-piece, but I didn't have enough time to fix it.

<3 Hey, everyone, I have something that might help w/ writer's block.

I recently got into coding, and made a few generators. I'll drop the ones that you might find interesting here:

Random Character generator

Writing Challenge generator

If you find any bugs/you have something to suggest, please tell me! Have fun with them!

Username: Dragonsoul
Nickname?: Dragi, Dragon, Soul, etc.
Favorite Genre Of Writing?: Aw man, I have no idea. I know my favorite element of writing is definitely story-building, but genre...? I love most genres though I don't typically write non-fiction anything, or sci-fi, but that's not say I dislike the genres! <3 I usually write in medieval fantasy worlds, though I occasionally write in realistic fiction.
Other:
I'm writing a book right now called Dripping Rayne. It's set in (shocker lol) a medieval-ish world that's actually a link to the baddies in another one of my books, Even Kings Die. :)

Also, I laughed at the coincidental names of Rose and Rowan. When I was in third grade, I wrote in this journal about twins, Rose and Ryan, with their friends Teha the shapeshifter, the Dragon, and many more, in their adventures in this secret world they discover when they run away from their mother. XD Brought back so many pleasant memories~

Abeline frowned at Trauma's retreating back. Although she understood the need to make quick decisions, she also knew that recklessness could get them killed. Also, it just rubbed her fur the wrong way to know that Trauma thought he knew the best places to hide. Although, her irritation was gradually replaced with appreciation. The place he had indicated was indeed less busy; only a handful of people, and even then they looked shifty and unlikely to care. Abeline jogged to catch up with Trauma, following him to the nook.

Abeline smiled at her worry. It had been so long since some one had thought to ask her how she was feeling, and it lit a warm glow in her heart. "I'm doing great," the girl said, still smiling.
Despite her grumblings about being out of the loop with her own kind, Abeline was looking forward to being among humans again. Being able to chow down a cheap but badly made burger while sipping a soda with absolutely no cares... her heart yearned for that life again. Even if it was temporary, and, on top of that, an act, it would still be a welcome change.
"Before we do anything, though," Abeline began, turning serious, "we should probably sort through all the things we grabbed. We don't want to, you know, arouse suspicion when we try to buy groceries with a golden watch. Maybe we can sell the valuables at a pawn shop somewhere and just pocket the cash in the wallets. That sound good?"
