Decided to do some headshot flats to redesign some characters I haven't touched in a *very* long time

Just some demon brothers with some fairly contrasting personalities

Okay so Funny thing from D&D Today.

Our party collects parts from our adventures for our Monk who is dabbling in potion making.
He accidently made a Potion of True Sight and a Potion of Hyperfocus (+2 Perception until next long rest)
He decided to drink them both in the same day....

Which is how we found out the *rest* of the party is all shapechanged. -cackles-
So the biggest among them is Efri, who is a Sea-Dragon morphed into a Halfling. So a 10ft long serpent silhouette appears around this 2'8" girl.

This poor man starts having a heart attack and flips out because he doesn't exactly know what the potion was doing or how it would mix with the other potion. He's thinking it was a bad mix so his character is hiding in his room trying to sleep it off.

We just ended session and I'm still laughing.

Hmm so I guess a few new things this last week.

For starters I managed to get a new job. I reconnected with an old friend of mine that I used to run a roleplay website with. He sorta poofed years ago when we went into the military and we ended up losing contact as a result. I'm not exactly sure how he found my current email but I suspect it may have to do with one of the admin emails I sent out using my current email as a contact point due to our website's host being merged.

He apparently runs a fairly successful Indie Game company over Steam and Patreon now. I suppose he remembered my dedication and roleplay style as a Storyteller for the RP site so I was offered a writing position. I"m very excited about this given I'm supposed to work with the other writers to write out scenarios as well as cut-scenes since the game does cut-scenes with changing pictures and text.
I'm genuinely happy to be able to do something I can use my skills for given I cannot work outside of the home anymore.

-

Additionally I am now fostering 3 dogs for my Aunt. She moved her trailer into a new park and apparently they have rules about animals. Well she listed all her animals, their sizes, their breeds, paid the fees they told her to pay, gave them her deposit and then 2 months after the move they apparently brought up rules she didn't see in her lease.
According to the rules, she's only allowed 1 dog under 20 pounds, no other animals... They brought this up after the application process in which they had to have already known about the animals she planned to bring with her because they made her pay a fee for each animal on the list. I think they just wanted her money and deposit and purposely ignored the fact she had more than the rule stated.

Anyways my aunt Amy told to get rid of all of the animals except 1 dog or she'd be evicted from the plot.
So that brings us to current day. She had 1 cat Mixed, (3 Dogs) a Corgi/Chihuahua, a Rustle Terrier/Chihuahua, a Collie/German Shepard and a Ball Python. The two smaller dogs are a bonded pair and can't be separated and the big dog was too big for the lease so for the next 3-6 months I'm holding onto all the dogs.

I will admit, I would have rather had the snake since he is going to a more permanent home and I'm really not the best person when it comes to dogs. Their barking makes me nervous and big dogs are overwhelming but I didn't know about the snake until my other Aunt, Joyce, posted about keeping him temporarily while they look for a home for him.

Our family reminded my Aunt Amy that I was the only person she knew who had a fenced in backyard and I honestly have trouble saying no when it comes to family in need so...
I already said yes to the dogs and I can't go back on my word. I can't take in the snake additionally because I personally feel like I would be overwhelmed taking in a 4th animal.

It's probably for the best anyways since the dogs are on a schedule and my schedule is fairly open since even before the Writing Job I worked from home anyways.
So we're keeping their schedule, I've got alarms set for it that I just squeezed into my own schedule and everyone seems to have settled nicely.
My 3 year old is very excited to be able to play fetch with Ollie. He's only 50lbs but he's very gangly so he's actually pretty big. He's only a year old so I suspect he'll probably get a lot bigger.

...Well I did say I was trying to do things outside of my comfort zone.
I know how to raise and train dogs, it's just been a long time since an incident occurred that turned me away from them. My fingers hurt thinking about it.

The smaller ones are kind of old and not as active. Dani has arthritis problems so part of the schedule is just making sure she's getting all their vitamins & joint supplement. Their behavior lines up with what I was told, except for their "cat friendly". The definitely know what a cat is but I need to be a little careful because I don't fully trust them with the cat I have. They like to bark and chase and the cats do not like that.

@-Ankh
The last illustration really gets me. I love the use of colors that brings the whole picture together. The way the cooler colors fade into the warm ones just hits a special little spot for me. \o/

@Popplio
I love how cute and popping your art style is.

Some friendships start out a little odd. My main man here is a bit confused, yet curious at to why the heck this girl is trying to talk to him.

They do eventually become a couple though. As they say, marry your best friend.

So I mentioned this thing the other day (In Group Chat) where I wanted to do a sort of Adventure Guild-Themed RP. Something that's different from the stuff I normally come across. I'd love to do a just 'adventure' type RP but that requires having a group of friends, an extra strong DMing presence and keeping it privatized. 1 of these things I do not have and another of these things I don't like the idea of.

I'm still sorting out my thoughts on how I would run it because there's all sorts of stuff to really consider if I don't want it to get boring and be able to provide players with proper options and things to do even if their character finds themselves by themselves due to either circumstances or personality traits.

Like the first thing is, what should I do for character selection? I don't want super OP characters running around but I don't want to limit it to just humans. I might go D&D themed with homebrew races allowed with approval.

But then the Setting? Fantasy is obvious. Should I use the same world rules as Hiramith or D&D Prime or extend into my personal version of the world I created for my D&D game?
If I went with Hiramith as a setting, setting up the Character selection would be fairly easy, I'd just need to provide the basic rundown of custom species I have for said setting and add a blacklist of stuff that wouldn't normally interact with society/would be too OP to be used by players. I would just have to toss a few social rules that would limit players since it would be an RP and not part of the actual books.

Guild wise I've already got a basic idea to run though.
I want to allow members to make their own groups to go out with.
I want to have a board that members can read and choose to travel to locations for their completion.
I want that board to be split into a couple different themes. Bounties vs General Quests vs Plot related Quests vs Odd Jobs
So a group that specializes in say Beast Capture could go after Beast related quests as opposed to a quest that may involve detective work.

I also kind of want to reuse a couple ideas I've had to use as reoccurring themes so stuff gets driven along even if other players don't push it themselves much.
One of them being centered around how magical tools are created. I had a dream once where I was working with an Animation studio as a writer/concept artist and I worked together with a friend in same dream to come up with a concept that 2 MCs and a pet fox where they have to collect wisps that escaped the magic factory because they're wandering around causing creatures to corrupt and go wild by infusing them with magic. I sort of want to reuse this idea in a way as one of the themes.

A second theme I've thought about would surround the three main gods I would put into the world and would sort of give an underlying plot. The reason why I don't want super OP characters is because I want to slowly build them up over time as the plot would eventually involve going after one of said Gods who's been causing trouble. Trouble that's reflected in plot related quests.
- Gods by the by, could be any species as a one true god does not exist, they're just strong magical normies who obtained the title of God. The three presiding are technically Immortal as in Ageless but not completely unkillable. Just stupidly strong because through the process of becoming a god, A person who obtains godhood transcends beyond their original species.

I do know I want to reuse the ideas I had for Hiramith's guild system as well as Quests I've used/created in D&D before.

I also want the Guild to be located in a large centralized city that's a sort of mixed community so it would make sense for more than just humans or just 'species' to be there.

Lots and lots and lots of thoughts.

Kynik waves a hand in front of his face. "Of course. Travel plans don't always go to according to said plans. As long as you've arrived as your destination safe I'm sure they'll understand." He chuckled having ignored the sub-comments of the girls. This wasn't really the place for this, the students here weren't really supposed to use their family name for gains or disadvantages against one another. While they were students here they were all on equal grounds and their gains would be proven through accomplishment, not the other way around.

"I am Kynik Kuffer by the way but feel free to drop the surname. I prefer to go by just Kynik." He glanced over to Samton who had given his original talking partner a very brief scolding before getting on to the actual topic at hand. "Social circles are things that form naturally correct? So the classes themselves are being canceled for the next couple days?" He'd voice his concern, something serious must have happened if the school would drop courses in favor of allowing students to co-mingle without distraction this early in the year.

He would admit though, his social circle at home wasn't formed this way. He and his sister had essentially been tossed at the Margrave's children as play partners as soon as they were old enough to walk on their own. It wasn't even so much as a circle as a temporary partnership as it eventually led to being pushed out when higher tiered noble children in the nearby city started coming for play and they started focusing on building bonds to climb the social ladder. He had even been referred to down-troddenly as a 'knight's son' rather than his father's actual position when spitting remarks had been made.
He knew his social worth, he just preferred to ignore it and try his best in the fields he was familiar with.

"The bonding of circles during this time is being encouraged because they generally work together better than strangers, no? Are the students to be left completely to their own devices or will the available extra curriculars be announced later?"

I find it interesting how the memories of a distant past can sometimes feel so strongly that you react to them almost as strongly as you did in that moment.

I don't have the best memory. It's potentially caused as a side effect of at least 3 different health issues I deal with or may just be caused by some brain damage I received when I was younger that gradually grew over time due to my MS.
However, sometimes I get reminded of things, of scenes that happened a long time ago and it doesn't take much to remember exactly how I was thinking in that moment.

Joy, Sadness, Fear, Hunger, Anger, Frustration.

These are all things we can feel on a daily basis at any given moment and the stronger their impression, the easier it is to remember something that happened.

I have vague memories of my earliest years, sometimes only images, but the strongest pull I get from them is the emotion.
I might not have understood what was happening at the time but I understood how I myself felt.

A nightmare is scary, it tells you to seek comfort.
A wound is pain, it tells you to get help.
A treat is joy, it tells you to indulge.

When important things happen, they stay with you for a long time even if you cannot remember them anymore. This helps you build a personality and shapes you into the person you become later in life.
Even now, the decisions you make, the things you feel, these continue to influence your future self.

Kynik gave a small wave as Mira stepped closer upon Thalia's invitation. Perhaps there was a shyness that prevented her from coming up as the rest did? "The dorms?" He peered out over the lake from his position. "The dorm position isn't too far off. It's easy to follow the lake's edge for navigation." Luckily the group was on the southern side of the wyst river's opening so the walk wouldn't be nearly as far.

"Since you are a mage, you'll want those brown buildings over there. The buildings with the blue rooves are used by the knight's course students." He hadn't even bothered waiting for the map to be pulled out, pointing blatantly at the barracks in the distance. "A bit late for the day though, we already managed to have our classes canceled for a second time." The non pointing hand waves nonchalantly as he spoke.

"Did you just get in?" He asked curiously.

It was almost as if the duo had known where they were. A bow was presented, it was only fair to return it. Kynik stood at last, giving back the bow of greeting in exchange. He held his plaything to his chest where his right hand landed over his heart in proper form. "Salutations to you as well. No intrusions have been made, we are out in public after all. My companion here and I were just making discussion of various things. Mostly pets and today's ongoings."

Kynik nodded. "To be fair, it was not expected for students to win against a Royal Guard in his prime even with a team of 5. From his perspective, his pride may have been hurt." The feeling of cool grass against his skin, he continued playing with the makeshift reed instrument. Though only a short time elapsed before her voice rang out again and he looked over, following the direction in which she had pointed.

He squinted holding a hand above his eyes. "There is no surprise in seeing other students outside." He blinked but held his position, still actually visibly interested despite his statement. "It's a nice day but then again after the physical exertion of the early day, most of them are likely in the common quarters of the dorms. I wonder if they have board games in there. Some of them probably brought cards as well."

"O-oh, right. That." The boy shuffled in his seat, starring back down at the river and its opening on the lake. It seemed he may feel as though he had embarrassed himself a little. He felt his ears get a little hot and reached up to subtly pull on the one closest to his conversation partner. It would cool down the longer he talked. "It was a team of 5. Tien, Riley, Samton, Elliot, and I. Samton was using earth magic on the ground to mess with his footing. We tried a couple things but in the end he fell for my feint and got caught by Tien and Samton in a pincer."

Kynik looked back down, fiddling with the grass between his fingers. "Sir Fisch certainly wasn't happy about it. He made the rest of the knights class work with golems instead of continuing his group battles. Well... Up until the golems fell apart and they canceled classes for the day." The boy pulls up a rather thick blade, pinching it between his fingers to fold it in half.

The plant was brought to his lips with a tight blow, causing a note to whistle out. He readjusted the tightness, changing the pitch when a second note was played.

If there's one thing I dislike, it's long car rides.
You're stuck in a chair at an uncomfortable angle with no real way to move your legs around for hours on end.
If the car ride lasts long enough you can't read anymore because the sun does eventually set.
And I don't have a phone so my only real options for entertainment are "Read", Switch and Sleep.

Wish my nook didn't self destruct the other day, I could have done some writing on the go.
Oh yeah, we're going to be taking a car ride to visit my inlaws... So I have more than one reason to dislike going on this 13 hour car trip. >_>;;
But it's a necessary trip. I just wish it didn't end in boredom, pain and stress.

"You know? One cannot really be sure." Kynik had never really put much attention into the thoughts of a horse. "Sometimes he would finds ways to escape and come headbutt me for pats though so, it is likely he might."

He next question was easy. While the writer has no idea what kind of training Thalia was referring to, other than probably the testing stuff this morning, Kynik continued to follow from the previous topic.

"Well training was a bit difficult at first. Father and the Margrave wanted to put a saddle on him as soon as he was large enough to hold a child to get him used to it but he was a bit stubborn at first. They started all the colts and fillies born in the same season at the same time though. I think it was when I offered to help the trainer put the saddle on that Toffee settled down that it was pretty much decided I should work with the trainer myself. But he was used to others putting it on and taking it off by the time he was large enough to train him in actual riding." He waves a hand back and forth as if shooing away a smell or potentially odd thought. "He seems to like my sister though so I gave her permission to ride him when she wants since I couldn't bring him here. Though, it is not like I have much say in what they do with my horse while I'm gone."

Kynik paused a little at her words, a breeze blowing across the lake just to tickle the grasses sitting around them. He had taken off his uniform's jacket and only removed the one side in order to properly get at the bandages, but he had put the shoulder back on so he had just been sitting there with the shirt on, just buttons unfastened. Oh! Maybe the blood stain was the problem?

"Oh sorry, there was no intention to make the young miss uncomfortable." He apologized setting down the bandages he had been jokingly playing with so he could pull the jacket back on to hide the dirty shirt. She continued with more questions about his horse, distracting him from the previous topic. "Ah well, the Margrave does have stablehands but an attached colt will do what he wants and when he only wants one perso-"

He didn't get much of a chance to react, as he was still fumbling with the jacket's buttons during his answer. His conversation partner had grabbed a stick, scooping it under the folded mass and tried to fling it away from the duo.

"O-oh." He tried to grab it when he realized but it was already too late, the brown and white cloth already out of reach. 'Ah... Leaving those there would be a bad idea. I'll just pick that up and dispose of them properly when she goes. ' The male student made a mental note of it to himself, not quite hearing the first part of the next topic, having swapped back to her own pet again.

"No, I do believe I should probably wait on that. Maybe tomorrow if you do not mind accompanying me again." He had raised both hands in a sort of jazz-like motion, re-affirming the denial of a do-over.

OC Form

Name: Efrisal Altum
Species (Human, Animal, Demon, etc-): Sea-Dragon
Abilities (if any):
Shapeshifting - This character runs around in a humanoid form and prefers to stay that way.
Limitations:
- If she gets too wet(Drinking doesn't Count), it causes her form to go unstable and she reverts halfway back to her sea-dragon form. She can remain like this until she either turns into the sea-dragon fully or dries out and reverts back to what form she was using before.
- She needs to transform back to a sea dragon before changing into something else. (Needs more practice before she can do direct transform)
- She cannot become anything larger than her Sea-Dragon form. (15ft in length but it's mass that's the limit.)
- She cannot gain any magical based abilities from transforming. IE She can climb walls as a spider(a purely physical ability) but she cannot mimic powers by transforming into someone who has them.
- She does not have enough practice yet to fly very well in forms that have wings.
- She cannot become creatures whose wings are not part of the arm. Think Bird/Bat vs Flying Dragon/Demon. She can mimick the general appearance but it will lack wings.

Water Control - The character has some basic water control
Limitations:
- She cannot use it passively. Her reaction speed using water magic is not the best.
- The only way for her to summon water is to use her Breath Weapon. It acts sort of like "Hydro Pump" but she can only use it in Dragon Form.
- An Application of Water magic which can allow her to drastically increase healing speed.

Natural Abilities
- Water Breathing
- Fast Swim speeds
- Dragon Form: Fins instead of Feet. When on land she is forced to slighter or crawl instead of walk. It's not as efficient as walking.
Personality: Efri is easily excitable and loves exploring. She might actually like the adrenaline rush of going somewhere new and potentially dangerous more than the actual reward itself.
She does enjoy helping others and loves listening to other people's stories but she doesn't really talk about herself much unless prompted so if you're looking for specifics, you need to ask her directly.
She'll likely claim "I grew up on the southern sea, my best friend growing up was a fisherman." She doesn't go around announcing she's a sea-dragon.
Appearance:
Sea-Dragon: 15ft in length, her scales are mostly a slightly iridescent blue blue. She has a large black horn that is continued with a frill down into the spines that line the first part of her serpent-like form.
She prefers not to use her real face as it can cause a lot of inconveniences.

Humanoid (Preferred) 4'7", a little on the short side.
Black hair with a dark tan, she had deep blue eyes.
Image (Optional)
This is something I drew a while back for her "Halfling" form used in D&D.
So imagine someone who looks like this, but 4'7" instead of 2'6"
She's probably going to run around with a human appearance for this RP.

This is an exactly of how water can potentially corrupt her form. Humanoid form corruption is easily mistaken for a deep-sea mermaid.

Kynik flinched pulling back his hand, the teeth having come close to snapping his fingers off. He may even seem a little taken a back. "Oh, I didn't realize. This is a dark elemental? I can't really tell beasts apart from animals, I apologize." Though it hadn't been harmed he would still hold the hand out habit. He'd recollect himself before speaking again but still continue to be wary of the beast.

"It was probably because of the exams this morning. I had a puma try to rip my arm off... But they were doing testing in classes too so I uh. We got help from one of the mage students to get it fixed." The man would shake his head thinking about it. It was true, his earlier encounter wasn't exactly the cleanest battle and he could have just used his left hand to fight against the professor but Tien had wanted to see him at his full potential. He very much had eagerly agreed to the repair.

His fingers flexed a bit in thought but they quickly turned to the buttons of his jacket. "If you don't believe me I can-" The jacket was pulled off, dumped on the grass next to him. Clearly, it had been a replacement, the shirt underneath was still dirty and torn. From the tears, one could see the bandages still wrapped tightly from when he'd visited the medical ward. His fingers worked to undo the shirt buttons as well, sliding the torn half from the right shoulder.

"Honestly I should have removed these already, they're fairly tight and I don't exactly need them." He said picking at the edge of the bandage until an end came loose, unwrapping the previously damaged deltoid. The bandage itself was fairly soaked after the first few layers were unwrapped but once uncovered, the wound was very much missing. He moved, putting an arm back through the damaged sleeve, casually playing with the folds of long ribbon stained with brown. He awkwardly laughed at the dirty thing. "I'm thankful, magic is useful. It makes bandages seem like a useless tool sometimes. I'm sorry it uh, upset your wolf though."

The topic of the horse had been brought up again. "Well he's only 3 so I can't say he's the fastest. He's mostly grown but he's got another 2 or 3 years to fill out. But Toffee is pretty fast. He's got most of the height he should have by now so it's mostly the muscle bulk he's missing. I'm sure he might get a little faster in a year when he gets those last few inches to his height. An extra inch in your leg is definitely a good way to guarantee your stride is longer."

About Hiramith

Q. What is Hiramith?
A. Hiramith is the name of the world I created in which most of my stories take place.
The longest and main story "Living in a Pure World" takes place here.
It has a lot of fantasy creatures and even its own defined species outside of the norm. Some species that already exist in Earth Fantasy may have been redefined slightly.

Q. Why isn't there more info here?
A. I'll add more information as I go. There is a ton of information I have and I need to more or less summarize it.
This takes a bit of time.

Magic
Show hidden content
Not every species can do Magic
On Hiramith, there are plenty of species that aren't capable of magic.
This includes Humans.
In order for a non magic species to wield magic it is requires for them to use an item created from the body part of a magical species *Or* Mana Stones. Objects made from Dragonscale, Unicorn hair or the feathers of certain magical birds are pretty prominantly used. The strength of the magic is determined by the type of creature used to magic the object as well as the strength of the will its user posses.
Not everyone who wields a magic item may be able to make used of its power.

Magic Infused species have Affinities
Similar to how difference dragons may weild different types of breaths or abilities, different species will have an affinity to one type of magic or another. Some may have multiple types of magic their species can weild.

Species like Witches may have inifinite pathways while others like a Dryad may only have access to nature magics.
Necromimi or "Necromancers" are the only species that can use Soul Manipulation Magics other than the edited version Angels/Demons can use.

Defining Magic
Magic is defined as a natural ability to manipulate Mana to preform various tasks. Most Magic is activated using internal Mana. It requires a body to use.

Exception to the Rules: Creatures naturally born in the Spirit world can use Energy Magic without a Physical Body because their Spiritual one is Capable of Slowly accumulating Mana. High enough concentrations of Mana within the Spiritual Body can be used to create a Physical one through a Combination of Energy, Corpomancy and Illusion Magics.

Psychic abilities are not considered Magical
Any species can wield psychic abilities although some species are better able to wield it than others.
Unlike magic that uses mana, Mind Magics or "Psychic" abilities are powered purely through Ki or Spiritual Energy. It is powered through the soul. Similar to self powered Mana use, severe overuse can cause the user's soul to splinter and can even cause brain damage.

Types of Magic
Pryomancy - Fire
Aeromancy - Air, Sound
Hydromancy - Water, Ice
Geomancy - Earth, Metal, Minerals - Inorganic Material
Nature - Plants, Inactive Organize Material, Healing
Corpomancy - Healing, Body Enchantment, Body manipulation in general, Ex: Transformation
Energy - Electricity, Radiant Energy, Shadow(Curses included)
Necromancy - Death, Soul Manipulation
Blood Magic - Healing, Summoning, Creature Manipulation, Actual Blood Manipulation(Weaponry)
Void - Space
Force Magic - Gravity, Mana Manipulation in its purest form, Light
Illusion Magic

Combinations of these can provide different abilities
Example: Air & Water magics = Control Weather
Nature & Corpomancy = Poison or Necrosis

Types of Psychic Ability and their Subtypes
Psychovicis - The ability to manipulate the mind.
Astral projection, Telepathy, Mindreading and Mediumship are concidered types of Psycovicis
Mindreading and Telepathy can be blocked through training although training is more successful in those who show an aptitude for psychic ability
Telekinesis - The ability to manipulate objects through Thought
Pyrokinesis is a non-mana extension of Telekinesis.
Levitation and Transmutation are also considered a type of Telekinesis
Divinitation - The ability to predict the Future
This can either be done on purpose through occult means or by accident either through Premonition or Visions. The latter is not very common.
Clarivoyance - The ability to perceive things that cannot normally begained through normal senses.
Retrocognition, Telesthesia, and Psychoscopy are concidered types of Clarivoyance.

Apportation(Teleporting) comes in two types
1. "Teleportation", the complete teleportation of an object from one space to another using void magic.
2. Self Telekinesis or "Wind Walking", the ability to move from one place to another. Creatures with this type of Apportation require an unblocked path of at least 2 inches in diameter to appear in the targeted place.

Limitations:
The target place must either be able to be seen or the user must have been there before.
Apportation cannot be used to bypass places protected by magical means.
Cannot be used to teleport the user into a target space smaller than them, IE a small chest, inside of a person

Void magic has no limitation to how far away it can take you, however it takes up the same amount of energy in short trips as it does long trips.
You can bring other people or obejcts with you using void magic, however this will drain Mana faster.

Wind Walking takes up less energy the shorter the Trip.
If the direct path is blocked Apportation may either not occur or the user will be slammed into the blockage.
While they aren't directly related, it has been shown that those who can use Telepathy are more likely to show an apititude for 58Void Magic Teleportation even if they can't use void magic itself.

Void Magic and Support Magic is Unique
It uses a combination of Ki for activation and Mana for perpetual actuation.

Species
Some species have been redefined or are not from the standard real world/earth folklore.
They will be noted here.
Angels
Show hidden content
Defining Angels
Angels generally look humanoid in their physical form.
There are some weaker versions of the celestial species whose physical forms are more beast-like.
Angels can be identified their lack of pupils and often radiant forms, which projects their etherealness even when they're not trying.
Normal Angels in physical form usually have Wings, which can be hidden by magic.

Their eye colors have a wide range but the most common are light blues, pinks and silver.

Their Metaphysical bodies or "Celestial" forms cannot be truly described. Differences vary widely between individuals but their Physical body often keeps traits referencing it.

Magical Abilities
Abilities can range depending on the type of Affinities an individual has but they usually have 2 Affinities, 1 random + Radiant.
All Angels can use Energy, Corpomancy and and Illusion Magics to a limited degree but a combination of all three allows them to create a physical body in which they can enter the mortal plane with.

An Angel has to be on the mortal plane in order to reproduce, this is often their reason for coming to Hiramith. Once they're born though and the soul creation is complete, they die shortly after. In order to return they must create a new body.
An Angel that doesn't wither away when given new life will often morph into a beast-like form instead and become labeled as a "guardian". The chance of this happening is random but there are secret methods rumored to make it not so random.

Because they can just create a new body if they wait long enough, Angels do not truly "die" in a sense unless their soul has been destroyed in some way.

Culture
While beast-like celestials are technically still angels, due to a degree of separation, they're no longer called Angels and are often referred to an Guardians. They're very rare and meeting one on the physical plane usually indicates that something important may be nearby.

There is a special type of Angel, often referred to as a Nephilim. They are extremely powerful celestials and are often linked to as the angel's ruling class. Nephilim can move to the mortal plane using their metaphysical body.
Although this comes with risk of permadeath as they can die doing that.
They are however, extremely powerful so death usually isn't a problem unless they encounter someone just as powerful.
They're often mistaken for gods.

Angels and Demons generally do not get along. This has provoked many wars between the opposing factions.
The Angels once preformed an "extermination" in the mortal plane while trying to purify it. It's suggested this may be the origin of the social taboo against hybridism.

Angels don't come to the mortal world that often, mostly choosing to reside in Nehan.
Kamura, a god-like Nephilim, acts as their ruler and plays a role similar to Hades.

Demi-Beasts
Show hidden content
Defining the Demi-Beasts or "Beastmen"
Demi-Beasts are a set of Anthro-Like Creatures with intelligence generally on par with the other two-legged species.

Looking as if they were a combination of a Humanoid and Animal getting mixmatched, the Demi-beasts used to be heavily persecuted upon their original discovery. What intrigues people the most is these creatures and their huge hulking forms often have feral non-sentient counterparts despite not actually being related.

The humans often group them together for the sake of definition but there are several different types with their own traits.
Among them, most notable are the Recorean(Reptiles/Lizardfolk), Canids(Canine/Wolfmen), Felatica(Felines/Cat People), and Aviaritzi(Avians/Birds). Each have their own subspecies within them as well.

Culture
One thing they do have in common among the groups is that their culture is more communal.
Unlike humans, despite having the level of knowledge available to them, Demi-Beast culture dictates to live communing with Nature rather than fighting against it, which often leads to conflicts when humans destroy their territory in lieu of expanding their cities. Due to their similar living styles, their tribes often have a good relationship with Elves, Nymphs and other wildfolk.

Demi-Beasts also seem to have cultures that are closely related to to the Human Nitachi. It's suggested that culture exchange may have happened in the past leading to a blend but in the current day, the Canids and Recorean villages may often have a partnership with a nearby Nitachi villages. It's less common with Felatica and Aviaritzi but occasional pairings have been noted. There's little to note how the symbiotic relationship of the two forms but to have a "sister village" often brings greater strength to a Demi-Beast tribe during times of struggle.

Felatica, Canid and Recorean Tribal Leaders or "Alpha" are often picked through the showing of Strength.
The Aviaritzi leadership is usually the most respected individual, acknowledged communally for their Leadership Skills and use of Knowledge.
Often simply referred to as "Healer", there is an individual who acts as the tribe's secondary leader and advisor.
These "Healers" are versed in Medicinal and Spiritual practices. They are picked from those among the tribe born with natural magical healing abilities and trained until the current "Healer" either retires or passes away. Telepathy is also quite common among Healers.
Due to these abilities being more commonly obtained through genetics, it is fairly common for Healers to be trained from family members most often passing the title from Grandparent to Grandchild.
Although the Beastmen live shorter lives when compared to most sentient species, members with natural healing ability often outlive their peers making this bi-generational transfer more accessible than one would think.

Abilities
Beastmen usually cannot use Magic.
A few are capable of using a limited range of Body Magics, usually focused in healing. Those shown to have these types of abilities are not able to draw Mana from the Enviroment but rather rely on the Mana their own body produces.

They however are fairly well known for their wide range of Psychic ability.

Demons
Show hidden content
Defining Demons
Demons are a species that can range from humanoid to beast-like. Most of them are fairly intelligent.
They can often be identified by their horns and lack of pupils.

Their eye colors range widely but the most common are Black, Red, Orange and Yellow.
They often have wings which are usually Bat or Dragon-like.

Their Metaphysical Body(Demonic), or the form used in the Spiritual World cannot truely be described. Differences vary widely between individuals but their Physical body often keeps traits referencing it.

Abilities
Abilities can range depending on the type of Affinities an individual has.
All demons can use Energy, Corpomancy and and Illusion Magics to a limited degree but a combination of all three allows them to create a physical body in which they can enter the mortal plane with.

A Demon has to be on the mortal plane in order to reproduce, this is often their reason for coming to Hiramith. Once they're born though and the soul creation is complete, they die shortly after. In order to return they must create a new body.

Because they can just create a new body if they wait long enough, Demons do not truly "die" in a sense unless their soul has been destroyed in some way.

Culture
Demons are often split into several different classes dependent on Strength and a few key features, both of which can be determined by genetics most of the time.
Demons don't really have subspecies as their classification system is different from genetic variation.

Starting at the bottom is the Beast demon. They're usually considered a nuisance and they're often weak. These demons are not humanoid even in their physical forms.

The next "Class" of demon are the Pilaf. They are best defined as the working servant class due to a special trait they have that prevents them from refusing orders. It's unknown if this is caused by a curse or if there's some mental thing that triggers the compulsory action of following orders.
They're the most common demon that may make a contract with Necromimi as it can get them away from the other demons and often comes with more freedom.
They are however, often very good at finding loopholes.
Most of them are humanoid.

The most common "Class" of demon are the Bigot. Their demeaner is usually what gives demons their stereotype of being 'evil'. They're well known for taking advantage of people and causing curses.
All of them are humanoid.

The strongest and rarest class of demon are the Regals. Often referred to the demon's noble or ruling class, Regals are extremely intelligent. They do not have to use a physical body to go to the mortal plane, they often just transport their metaphysical body over instead, although this comes with risk of permadeath as they can die doing that.
They are however, extremely powerful so death usually isn't a problem unless they encounter someone just as powerful.

Demons don't come to the mortal world that often, mostly choosing to reside in Jigoku.
Yomuri, a god-like Regal demon, acts as their ruler and plays a role similar to Hades.

Demons and Angels do not usually get along. This has provoked many wars between the opposing factions.
Demons more recently were also involved in a war between them and the Keykeepers. The reason is currently unknown.

Elves
Show hidden content
Defining the Elves
Elves are a humanoid species with long pointed ears and a penchent for living very long lives.
There are several Sub-Species of Elf that are define by both their natural abilities and their looks. Different sub-species also have varying cultures but they are similar in some aspects.

Things their Cultures have in Common
Eye Contact is often perceived as rude or aggressive. Subordinates may be looked down upon but they may not look at the faces of those they find superior.
One common ability among the elves is they are more likely than any other race to produce individuals with the ability to use Void Magic. This has become important in their society as they often use it to expand their cities without messing with the environment.
Void Magic users are often seen easily climbing the social ranks. While only 1 void user is needed per city for maintenance, all individuals with the affinity for it are encouraged to develop their abilities.

Community leaders are usually picked from High level respected void mages with 2 or more affinities.

Due to how long their lives usually last, elf culture is centered more around improvement of one's self rather than continuing their lineages. Other than the Royal Families maintained with the High Elves and Sea Elves, the concept of "family" is fairly vague and most children are raised by the community rather than their parents.
Elves usually live for around 700-1000 years with the exception of High Elves who may live longer and Moon Elves who routinely live shorter lives.

Young elves are usually referred to informally as "you" until they pick a name for themselves during their 50th year.
They are considered adults at around 80 years.

High Elves/
Often described as having fair skin, High Elves usually tend to fairer hair colors, Blonde being the most common.
They seem to have the most range in eye colors among the elves.
Some individuals have been reported to have lived as long as 2500 years.
An exception to the 80 year rule, a High Elf usually isn't considered an adult until they turn 100.

High Elves are a fairly classist society. They are ruled by a Royal family and probably have the highest level of communicative network between their cities through the use of Mana Stone communicators. While most elves have access to it, they certainly use it the most. This technology has not been shared with outsiders so the way of recreation is not currently known.

High Elves are known for looking down on most other species. They are highly distasteful of Humans, Orcs and Dwarves with the exception of the Nitachi(Humans). It's not that they like the Nitachi but they are less prone to the destructive nature of the others of their kind which leaves them at more of a neutral than a dislike.

They do however show a high level of respect towards those with similar or higher levels of magical power. This includes species that natural reside in the spirit realm, most dragons and some Necromimi.

Affinities usually shown among High Elves include:
Aeromancy, Energy(Radiant) and Force Magic.

Wood Elves/
Sometimes refered to as "Copper Elves", Wood Elves tend to have more tanned or darker skin colors. Their hair colors seem to trend more natural although Red and Green toned hair is not uncommon.
Their eye colors seem to range within Greens, Purples and Brown and Hazel.

While not as advanced as the High Elves, Wood Elves are often incorrectly referred to as "wild men" by humans mostly due to misunderstanding.
It is understood that Wood Elves "live among the trees" but not in the way that the humans seem to be thinking.
An entire village may go unnoticed except when individuals are out and about due to each individual building being represented by a tree. Void magic is used to a create a pocket space in which the house is then located.

It is not uncommon for a "home tree" to also be occupied by a Dryad and symbiotic relationships between Dryad groups and Wood Elf villages to be formed on a basis of Elves keeping the trees healthy while the Dryad provides and maintains the living space. Entire ancient forests may be maintained this way and are often a sign of the symbiotic relationship currently at work.

While they aren't the biggest fans of most races, Wood Elves seem to maintain a mutual relationship with other Fey and Demi-Beasts in terms of favoritism.
By extension, due to cultural similarities with Demi-Beasts, they seem to be more open to exchanges with the Nitachi so they are viewed on a more favorable side of the spectrum than most species although not nearly as well as the Demi-Beasts themselves.

Affinities usually shown among Wood Elves include:
Nature Magic, Corpomancy and Force Magic.

Moon Elves/
With a fair skin-tone with some having a bluish tint, Moon Elves seem to have hair colors that mostly stick to Black, Silver, Purple, and Blue. They seem to have the shortest ears among the elves.
Their eye colors seem to range in the Blues, Gold and a water-like Silver. Green is less common but not unheard of.
Moon Elves often live shorter lives than their other counterparts. They are considered adults when they pick their names and usually live between 400-700 years.

Moon Elves are more of a nomadic society. They tend to travel around a lot gathering with them knowledge as they go.
Their living situation is similar to most elves despite this. They carry with them pocket spaces created with the use of Void Magic that allows them to set up a temporary village of 'doors'.
They appear to be nocturnal so a 'village' you might find during the day, may be gone by nightfall.

Large nomadic tribes may sometimes split or 'settle' depending on the overall moral of the group.
A Moon Elf tribe creating a 'settlement' is rare but it occasionally happens when they find an area whose resources reoccur faster than their depletion of it.

Unlike most Elves, Moon Elves seem to get along with most other species but they can be a bit apprehensive when it comes to Orcs and most Humans.

They do maintain a strong relationship with other elf subspecies and often act as temporary bridges during negotiations.

Affinities usually shown among Moon Elves include:
Force Magic, Healing Magic and Illusion Magic.

Despite all Elf races having Void magic as a common affinity, most Moon Elves are able to use void teleportation even if the individual can't use general void magic by itself.

Sea Elves/
The skin colors for Sea Elves tend to range in varying shades of Blues & Greens. White or Brown patches may speckle their skin. Occasionally a Sea Elf may be born a majority Silver or Brown patchwork with blues & greens making up the minority of their skin cover.
Their eyes are usually Blue, Green, Silver or Black.
Their hair colors usually range from Black-White, Blue-Green and darker greens.

Sea elves are quite similar to High Elves cultural wise. However rather than building their entire cities within a single pocket space, they usually opt to building elaborate shelves of sand and rock, making castles that may house entire delicate coral reefs. They really don't like outsiders as outsiders may disrupt the reef they've built and cause a decline in the coral that covers it.
It's said that if you find a coral reef away from the mainland, there's a high probability it's an artificial one created by Sea Elves.

Creating these new ecosystems however allows for an abundance of food that they take advantage of since they themselves become the predators, chasing away other predators that may try to inhabit the area.

They're often seen co-existing with surface-dwelling Merfolk.

Affinities usually shown among Sea Elves include:
Aeromancy, Hydromancy, and Corpomancy.

Deep Elves/
Ground Elves, sometimes refered to as Drow or "Dark" elves are indeed the darkest of the elf races. Their skin is usually either some variation of black, grey or dark blue/purple.
Their hair colors are generally pale, the most common being silver but light blues and occasional faded pinks have been noted.
Their eyes are usually either light Blue, varying shades of Purple, amber and occasionally red.

Affinities usually shown among Ground Elves include:
Nature Magic, Geomancy and Energy(Shadow).

"Humans"
Show hidden content
Defining Humans
"Humans" as the readers would call them are a non-magical humanoid species.
Biologically they function the same as normal humans.

There are actually 3 sub-specie categories of "Humans" in which they use to define themselves.
Civs, Nitachi and Fangori

Abilities
As noted Humans actually lack the ability to use magic on their own. However they are quite proficient at creating and using tools. Though often crude in nature, Humans seem to be the most adept at adapting to the use of magical tools, although the use does pose its problems.

Culture
The culture between the three sub-species actually varies widely between them. However it will be noted that while the Civs and the Fangori have Established clear territories in build they build their cities, the Nitachi are a bit more sparse, some Tribes showing nomadic lifestyles.

They can be a bit aggressive towards magic wielding species although it's unknown if this is a truly cultural thing or if humans are just afraid of anything potentially more powerful than them.

Civs
The Territory of the Civs or "Peardell" is a vast country with Creekafeol at its center as its capital.

Peardell is run a King and a following of Nobles: Arch Duke and Margrave > Duke > Earl > Viscount > Baron
The title of Viscount can only be obtained as reward.
The title of Baron can be rewarded but may also purchased by wealthy aristocrats. It's a fairly common title that only requires the title holder to pay Noble Taxes to maintain after the first generation if rewarded.
The Titles of Duke, Earl, and Baron can be multigenerational.
These terms are Generic as they refer to the Inheritor of the title. For example, a Woman who inherits the Earl position will be called an Earl. Her husband may choose to go by Countess or Lord. The opposite name always points to the marriage partner of the estate holder.
Usually a Noble will prefer a son as their heir, however that isn't always what happens.

Civs often see themselves as the most "civilized" of the 3 subspecies although this is a misconception due to culture differences. They tend to be the most destructive when it comes to nature and local disputes between established Nitachi territories and the ever expanding Civs is quite common.

Civs are probably most prominently known as a god-fearing culture, often using it as an excuse for whatever they seem to be doing.
It is said they once witnessed the purge brought on by the angels, beings of purity and power. While hybrids are considered a taboo in most specie cultures, the Civs go a step further. It seems that they take it upon themselves to continue the purge the angels started. Hide your Mules, Ligers and Half-Elves, the country has laws to exterminate hybrids onsite.

Since Civs themselves are incapable of using magic without magical tools, some groups within the subspecies are often known for 'witch-hunting', hunting down other Civs who are thought to be able to use magic without the use of magical tools who may instead either be witches, demons, or humans with magical ancestry (And thus some hidden hybridism in their distant ancestry).
Witches and their Demonic partners must be eliminated.

However despite the human proficiency in using the tools themselves, it is harder to prove whether or not a magic user is lying. Laws have been put in place to register magical tools, particularly with adventurers, so their users have some form of proof. However magical tools seem to be difficult to get ahold of to begin with. They seem to often disappear from markets quickly and gaining of new materials to make more isn't exactly easy to do.

Fangori
The Territory of the Fangori or "Guokka" is governed by its Capital "Xingkyō".

Goukka is run by its Emperor, any Imperial Princes that have been given the title "Ojūn", and the Royal Court including its Prime Minister. Government positions and Titles are usually held by Nobles.
Unlike the title of Emperor, for most Nobles, only the Eldest son may inherit his Father's title. The rest will receive a title one position below.

The Fangori are best known for advancements in martial arts and the development of Ki. While it takes a lot more discipline to learn, it helps develop the body, the mind and the spiritual ability of a person making them more likely than any other species to develop psychic ability as a result.
Some martial artists can even manipulate their Ki in the place of Mana allowing for Body Manipulation magics on par with those used by Demi-Beasts and some individuals surpass them by speeding up their own body's natural processes.

The culture can be a bit more strict than the other subspecies of human, with most following long standing traditions and practices surrounding self discipline, respect and the preservation of a hardworking lifestyle.

Nitachi
The Nitachi do not officially have their own 'political' territory and are instead a bit more widespread with villages intermingling among much larger territories.
Each Village is run by a form of Chief, usually selected through mutual agreement of other members. The "Leader" is often selected for their Respect among the Community, their Strength and their application of knowledge. A new leader may be selected through natural progression if the previous recognized leader feels lacking.

A second tribal "head" is the Spiritual Leader, otherwise known as the " Akinwangami". They are trained Medicine men who select their successor from those in their group with an aptitude to use their tools. Tools are created by the Akinwangami from materials traded for with Demi-Beasts giving them access to limited healing-type magics.
This second head acts as both a Spiritual Leader and Advisor to the recognized Tribe Chieftain.

Speaking of, the cultures between the two are actually fairly similar. It's suggested due to the more preservative nature of the Nitachi may have made it easier for them to exchange culture and techniques with the Demi-Beasts which resulted in a bit of cultural blending. It's not uncommon to see two nearby established villages co-existing on a strong level with one another, sometimes going as far as invoking ally-ship when one is having trouble.
Depending on the Region their culture may lean closer to the Canids or the Recorean in nature.

On the opposite hand, It is not uncommon for Nitachi villages to be at odds with Civ establishments. Their conflicting views of their cultures often causes problems due to the Civ's persistent nature of destroying things without thought.

Standing more at the middle though, while Elves do look down on most non-fey in general, they seem to be a bit more fairly lenient for the shorter lived Nitachi than most species.

Necromimi
Show hidden content
Defining the Necromimi
Necromimi look incredibly similar to humans except for a few key differences.
Their ears are sharpened and they're often seen with tall but lean physiques.

Eye Color has a wider range than humans. Brown, Yellow and Oranges are an impossibility as a selection.
Only one linage currently remains capable of producing Purple eyes. The Incromentum is one of the purple-eyed line.
Blue and Greens are common but Grey and Silver have also been seen. Mixed colors such as Hazel do not happen.

When activating levels of magic that put stress on their body a Necromimi's eyes will turn orange.
Overuse of the Necromimi's "alternative eyes" can cause them to pass out when they're finished.

They can live an upwards of 10,000 years but their average lifespan is only 70 (Explained Later)

Magical Abilities
They are a Subspecies of Witch, which gives them access to most other types of magic. However an individual may only bother getting good at using a couple different types.

Often associated with demons for companion contracts, the Necromimi are one of few mage species capable of true blood magics and the only species capable of Soul Manipulation Magics, otherwise known as Necromancy.

Necromancy is unique in which is uses the body's lifeforce itself in tangent with mana. It uses a *lot* of the lifeforce, especially when doing something as extensive as resurrections. This is often why Necromimi don't live nearly as long as they potentially should. They basically cut their lifespans short with the overuse of Necromancy magics.

Culture...?
The personality of these creatures are about as wide ranged as humans. However they lack a fatal flaw which often pushes them to seek out Soul Manipulation magics.
The Necromimi have an inate obsession with power. While some seek to damper this "need" with other methods, the most common and satisfying of methods is to pursue it directly. They say Soul Manipulation magic is almost comparable to playing god.

They commonly form contracts with demons, usually for the use of their power but also because they can be used as external batteries for a Necromimi's magic which can greatly boost its effects. They're very efficient as using them this way.
Angels could be used this way as well, however contracts with them are far and few in between. Once associated with a Demon, Angels won't even look at a Necromimi.

Witches
Show hidden content
Defining a Witch
Witches are a humanoid species with short pointed ears. They're very similar to humans appearance wise.
They're well known for a wide range of eye colors with the only limitations being no Purple.
It's often said their eyes swirl with colors related to the type of magic they're using. The more prominent the swirl, the stronger their affinity to that type of magic.

Magical Abilities
Witches and their subspecies have access to almost all branches of magic.
Individuals however will usually only master 2 or 3 types.

They can live for an upwards of 3,000 years.

Culture/Behaviour
Witches are mostly hermitic, living by themselves or sometimes in small covens.

However when it comes to the magic community, they heavily involved in preventing humans from getting ahold of magical artifacts and generally try to keep humans from magic exposure in general. They actively play a role during community meetings about keeping magic out of view inside human borders. This has become increasingly more common.

This may be influenced by general human behavior and their fear of the unknown. Humans have gone "witch hunting" in the past over fickle things like being able to do stuff they cannot. So much so that they have even "witch hunted" other humans with access to magical tools.

I'll drop my toyhou.se here.
I do have more than what's on the Toyhou.se but I'm too lazy to add everyone until I've made proper updated art.

Animela - Got to put my namesake up front
Show hidden content
Animela originated in a book I started writing when I was 7. The final version was tossed out when I turned 11 in favor of restarting from scratch. She was originally a shapeshifter.
She is the main character in the novel series that I've been editing: "Living in a Pure World" where crossbreeds such as herself are considered an abomination that goes against social taboos. Her parents are a type of huge Anthro Wolf Beastman and a Humanoid Mage species.
Even Half-Elves and Mules are treated poorly.

Animela is sort of like a Reverse Werewolf?
Her default form is the wolf form. She uses a morphing stone to appear more human due to personal image issues.

Tysiga
Show hidden content
Tysiga appears in the "Living in a Pure World" Series as a male lead.
I didn't intend for him to end up that way but uhhh, characters have a mind of their own sometimes.

He's Half Angel/Half Demon and keeps his Soul in the crystal around his neck.
He can't die unless you actually break the crystal itself. However, residents of the Realm of the Dead, or rather species that naturally inhabit it can just make themselves a new body if they collect and use enough mana for it.
-Notes on Animela and Tysiga
Show hidden content
They really are two halves of one pair. Starting out as awkward acquaintances sent to cross paths because of Animela's job, they end up bonding as really close friends.
When they meet up again later, that friendship eventually turns to romance.

They go through a lot together and help pick the other up. It really does end up cementing how much they truly care for one another when it comes down to the stuff they're willing to go through just to see the other smile. It's not exactly a lovey-dovey kind of love but it's definitely got the strong bond of friendship that should allow them to last well beyond what I could ever write.

I love their story and I hope someday I'll be able to share it properly.
If you can't tell, they're my ultimate OTP.

Nunka - My Pokesona
Show hidden content
Nunka is a Ninetales, or more specifically... An Aloetails!
They're a ninetales with a delta grass mutation that caused their body to be mostly formed from plant-like material.
The inside of their tails looks a lot like an aloe plant and can be used as a burn heal. (Not that the character knows this themselves)

They "Flower" during December although sometimes it can also happen if they're severely stressed out during other parts of the year.

They're often seen with missing tails due to pokemon chewing them off. Doesn't hurt, however I don't think you'd like people taking bites out of you and messing up your clean tails. The problem is Nunka produces an oil at the base of their tails that makes them smell good enough to eat. However it is a trap, though not poisonous, they taste absolutely horrible.
0/10, would not recommend

Pen - Fav D&D character
Show hidden content
Pen is a Shroomoid!
A Shroomoid is a homebrew playable species I created. Pen is sometimes used in games that allow for homebrew races.

They're a Ex Miner who decided to become an Adventurer because Adventuring as a Rogue was much more profitable.
They're a little greedy and definitely have an obsession with shiny rocks. They needed more money than a basic miner's paystub to fund their collecting habits.

They're not exactly outgoing as a person but they seem to get along fairly well with people who grunt talk apparently lol.
They also have some pretty weird habits that would be perfectly normal around other shroomoids but not so much for humanoids. They literally routinely eat garbage and rotten food that the party would normally throw away. The ultimate recycler.
