The big cat took a deep breath. "...No." She looked away, a tear spilling down the side of her cheek. "M-my kind... all died, in the Change." The previous facade of wonder she held for the event slipped and she collapsed on herself, crying silently. "The only one I have is Hempha." His gaze kept flickering away from her's, he constantly changed the topic, though he had said he wasn't very social, so Sasha couldn't really be mad at him. The big cat smiled warmly, yet softly, very unlike her personality. "This is Hawthonrn's Hollow. This whole place used to be a desert. But then, a blessing occurred, which we call The Change." The cat smiled once more, and turned tail and ran. Her paws turned to a blur, she jumped up a tree, hit another one's trunk to propel herself, and at the end, she arrived at a beautiful crystal pool. She laughed to see everyone panting except for the Manectric, whose Pokemon is specially adapted for speed.
There were water lilies drifting on the surface of the pond and small minnows darted up to tap the water's surface, then back down. Sleepy sunlight filtered through the leaves of a tall oak, which shaded the whole area. Soft and springy grass was underfoot.
The cat's face split into a grin. "You like it?"

Sasha nodded. She shoveled a pile of lukewarm macaroni into her mouth and guzzled down the carton of milk. To Brandon, she said, "Cook hates it if you don't finish your food. Just as a warning for next time."
Sasha wiped her mouth as she finishes chomping her apple down to the core. The girl picked up her tray, dumped the garbage in a brown plastic bin, and turned it in to a pleased cook.
