Sasha wasn't an idiot. She saw the looks that some kids give her, as if she were someone who believed herself to be high and mighty. But she wasn't. The teacher had called on her, while she was stretching, nonetheless! She glared right back, by chance straight at Sean. Her eyes glanced off his face, like chipped glass.
She wasn't scared of this guy. To be quite frank, she wasn't really scared of anyone. If someone were to kill her, well get bloody on with it. She scanned the class for more glaring kids, and returned the favor to each and everyone. Her eyes came to rest on Sean once more, a silent challenge dancing in her eyes.

Sasha yawned. Seriously, Mr. Pratt? What a great way to start the new years. A lecture! A fly buzzed and she whipped her hand around, which drew attention to herself. Sasha then realized that the sound was in her head, that there was a fly within a small radius. She flashed a stupid smile at a gawking kid and glared at another. Her pen clicked as she wrote down some notes absentmindedly, probably about something she already knew, from the heap of books she read.
Closing her eyes, she leaned back, stretching.
Mr. Pratt stopped writing on the chalkboard and said, "Ah, Ms. White! What a pleasure." His words held genuine happiness and the raised hands slowly went down. (the dreaded mistake when you are stretching, and a teacher calls on you, because they think you are raising your hand X3 )
Sasha approached the board as if it were an animal, also the center of the classroom. Mr. Pratt cocked his head at her and said, "Please explain the nature of powers."
Sasha's worried grimace melted into a smile. At first she began awkwardly and stumbled a lot, but later, she was all out, pacing, hand gestures and the like. "You see, your powers are determined by your age, your sex, and your DNA. Now, it may sound it bit odd to be saying that out loud, because some of you may have thought the devil had danced on your mother's womb." A few students nodded, hiding their faces. "But nope. It's all in you.
"Your age has to do with your power's strength, your control over it, and how many tangents of it you control." A few curious looks got her rolling again. "Oh, ha, I forgot! Tangents are... break-offs from your power, where you can do something else with it. For instance, someone may have control over earth, and then later they realize they can control nature as well! Anyway, the best age to be in a power is twenty to thirty five, when most are at their prime.
"Your sex has to do with how you deal with your powers. For instance, guys go through a quick but painful change, but girls have it stretched out, hence they have a harder time with dealing with their powers.
"Obviously, your DNA decides your power, if you have one. I don't know how to exactly explain this one, but I'll try. Your DNA is what makes you, you! So imagine if it had something threaded into it... something that made us a little more than human!" She smiled and bowed to the professor. "Thank you sir."
She strode past people's open-mouths and obvious gazes and swept into her seat with a grin. Maybe this wouldn't be that bad.
