A few days later, Izzy had almost completely driven the thought of him from her mind. It was time for her daily rounds. Of course, for her, that meant looking for potential victims to her...permanent borrowing skills. So, after helping Dian set up the shop, she slipped out, hood over her head and hands gloved. Like always, they'd never see her coming. [Read more] |

Wolfshire is a kingdom of secrets and hidden corners. On the outside, one might see the brightly colored stalls, the rainbow of colors on the tourists and citizens alike, the magical creatures dancing through the streets, and the performers dancing, singing, and acting. But beyond that are the silent, and darker aspects, the town guard yelling at an old woman just attempting to cross the street, the beggars at every corner, and the curly-haired thief dressed in drab clothes that would have set her apart in a dangerous way if it weren't for the shadows surrounding her as she scouted the crowds for someone in particular. She tensed like an animal hearing the breaking of a branch. "Three humans and one Saakri-Lumens." So the little boy wasn't the only one who thought she was human. Good. Still, there was no time to waste. They had to get over the wall. The little boy made a hesitant sound like he wanted to point out another obvious thing, that he wasn't getting over the wall on his own. Astrid had never had the patience for small children, and Saakri-Lumen children she saw had long since learned how to look out for themselves, or had parents to depend on. She couldn't remember the last time she'd interacted with a small child in a way that wasn't chasing them away from one of her hideouts or keeping them from stealing her food. She smiled ruefully, thinking of the hares. Someone would find them, people were smart. Especially when they were fighting to survive. She had the same bitter distaste for the way that the humans lived. Saakri-Lumens may have been a lot of things, but at least they cared about keeping the place they lived from being completley dirty and grey. This was digusting. The boy, at one point or another, had clamped down onto her wrist like a tiny crab, which was annoying to say the least, but after a few unsucsessful tugs, she gave up. She was too focused on navigating this new world to attempt anything else. Being small and having a small child basically attached to you had its advantages and distadvantages. The first advantage was that it was harder to get knocked over if you were able to more easily dodge arms and legs and bodies...somewhat. The second advantage was that the kid was small as well. The disadvantages meant that she was taking up less space, so more people crowded around her until Astrid was afraid that she wouldn't be able to breathe. The boy seemed used to this, still not saying a word. It wasn't long before Astrid realized that Sephtis and the other human had gone missing. Great. Just what she needed. Being lost in a city she'd never seen with a little human boy. Now, she was in trouble. She glared at the boy, who muttered, "I can help." Before Astrid could do anything, he had adjusted his grip on her wrist and was now leading her around. Astrid didn't like the idea of being led around by this boy, but he was smart. He found Sephtis and the bloody carnage in his wake quicker than Astrid could have. Astrid swallowed hard as she saw what he'd done, but it was better to move forward. Despite this, she couldn't resist a dry jab, opening up a connection with him. "Couldn't go five minutes without getting into trouble and killing to get out of it, huh Blood Boy?" [Read more] |

It was early morning, before the sun was even up that Raida awoke from, as usual, a restless slumber that left her with dark red bags under her eyes that didn't seem like they'd ever go away. She didn't, at this point, even remember what she looked like full of rest, whole and healthy. Perhaps, when she was a small child she was happier, but those memories were as faint as a whisper. Raida couldn't even remember her parent's faces. She stumbled through the dark, hands shaking violently as she was too tired to focus on quieting the tremors, and threw open the windows, gasping for fresh air like she'd had a nightmare. But Raida didn't sleep enough to have nightmares. Her mind was too nervous, running at a speed far greater than she or the rest of her body could keep up with. She'd barely been awake and already her thoughts were pouring into her brain as the dam of sleep that was so thin shattered. There were hours until Raida would have to leave her home, for what seemed like the first time in awhile. After all, the only real thing she'd left the tiny apartment for was her job, and, noticing her nervous demeanor worsening lately, the head of the school had made Raida take a few weeks off as they could see she was well past the stages of a breakdown and was pratically ready to fall apart. It had helped some, and Raida could see her own improvements. But she feared that today would make everything worse. Still, she'd already made up her mind, despite the running thoughts turning to ways that things could go wrong. Shakily, she changed her clothes and and was getting ready to leave. Sitting on the bottom of the steps of the apartment was a pair of old men that Raida had forgoteen lived there. Though, she supposed that a king could be living in her apartment and she would have no idea. The two men were conversing, their hands moving in quick, animated motions. Pulling her collar up to hide her face, she hoped she'd slip past them, but to no avail. One of them looked up, his eyebrow raising as he called out, "Bonjour Raïda ! Qu'est-ce que tu fais dehors ?" (Hello Raida! What are you doing out?) Raida stopped in her tracks, mumbling, "Je pense que nous savons tous les deux ce qu'est aujourd'hui" (I think we both know what today is) The man sighed and smiled. "Je ne pensais pas que tu serais partant pour quelque chose comme ça." (Je ne pensais pas que tu serais partant pour quelque chose comme ça) Raida chose to say nothing, instead quickly scurrying away like a scared mouse. Raida pretended not to hear the comments as she got further away. She couldn't pretend that she didn't know what they thought of her. Crazy. Pitiful. But was there any denying it? Raida was miserable as she came into the building. [Read more] |

Name - Raida Daidon Age (18+) - 22 Gender - Demigirl Personality - Raida is probablly the closest you can get to a person who is both broken and unbroken at the exact same time. Her personality was already fragile before the experiments. But then, it snapped, into something shattered and barely held together. Raida's hands are constantly shaking unless they concentrates hard enough, but she manages to hang on. Raida is a nervous wreck on the inside, but on the outside she seems just completley distant and broken. Appearance - Raida has pale white tangled hair, grey eyes, and equally pale skin that is almost translucent What Your Character Did Before the Experiment (School, Work, etc) - Before the experiment she was a English Teacher at a French-speaking school Abilities - "Future Bloodsight" By using her ability, Raida is able to take some of her blood to get a glimpse of the future, usually at the most 30 seconds. Unfourtanetly, Raida is the only person who can see the event, and for a few minutes she becomes broken and detached from reality and unable to answer questions or speak.
