Kass had mostly been sitting in a corner, flipping through the spellbook she had brought, with Alphonse still perched on her shoulder. Upon hearing the rumbling, she jumped a bit in surprise, Alphonse squawking from the sudden motion. Another island must be falling....... Please don't be Brewhagen or Starfellae... She sat there in silence, horrified at the thought of losing her home or the few people in Starfellae who regularly visited her stall when she was selling her potions there..

A somewhat tall woman with goggles, a blue cape, a pair of wings, and a bird's tail sat in a particularly messy room in her house, with various shelves containing herbs, jars of various ingredients, and a disorganized collection of flasks, test tubes, and beakers, along with miscellaneous equipment used in alchemy. She sat there, hunched over the main table in that room, the noise from the potions being brewed making it near impossible for her to pick up the sounds of distant screaming or the announcement from Gearwatch. She has been getting some reports of machinery on the island malfunctioning as of late, so she figured she should probably go ahead and work on that...... right after she's done brewing this batch of potions.... Though a quick tap on her shoulder had gotten her attention. It was her raven, Alphonse, carrying a recording device in his talons. After giving her corvid companion a gentle stroke on the head, the woman pressed the play button on the device...

"Hello Half-Genius!"

She rolled her eyes, as she hated being called that, almost as much as she hated being referred to by her full name.

"As you may have just witnessed, Aetherhaven has plummeted. This is our first island ever falling, so I assume there has been a panic throughout the Island you've been left to manage, no? Well, it's all being taken care of! Half of you Half-Geniuses will stay behind and manage the Islands, and the other half will have to find whoever did this. You may converse amongst yourselves at the base in Gearwatch. We hope you'll accept this task for the sake of Gearborne, as we do not need any more lives lost."

"I bid you farewell and good luck!"

Kass froze up for a second upon hearing the news about Aetherhaven falling, then began contemplating whether or not she should head to Gearwatch. On one hand, it is her responsibility to fix any issues with Brewhagen's machinery, but on the other, she is the Half-Genius now, that's kind of been her job ever since her father got sick and died a couple years ago....

Well, she thought, Might as well head off then, it's not like Father's gonna come back from the dead just to attend some crummy meeting....... Riiiiiiight after these potions are done brewing, don't wanna accidentally blow up the workshop when I'm not looking...

Kass arrived at Gearwatch, her wings folded tightly to her back, Alphonse perched on her shoulder. She had brought along a satchel containing her spellbook and a few vials, just in case she may need them. Gearwatch felt nothing like her home island of Brewhagen, or even Starfellae for that matter. Sure, Brewhagen had a few markets selling stuff like ingredients, cauldrons, and flasks, but they were never this crowded. After asking around a bit, Kass had made it to the base, trying to draw as little attention as possible.

Appearance:

Kass is somewhat taller than average, around 5'6", with blue eyes, and two stripes of dark gray feathers on her face, located under her eyes. She has a pair of large bluish-gray wings with darker stripes on them, and tail feathers that the same colors as her wings. Her ears are pointy and covered in feathers, and her hands resemble a falcon's talons.

Hair + Outfits:

(Bottom is basically her casual outfit. Both outfits made using this picrew)

Personality: A skilled magic user and alchemist, Kass is a bit of a workaholic. When she isn't busy making sure everything's working properly on her island, she's usually busy brewing potions or creating magic items in her workshop or out shopping for ingredients she needs for a potion. She is rather introverted, and can be a bit blunt when speaking. Has somewhat of an affinity for birds.

- Was the daughter and apprentice of Brewhagen's previous Half-Genius, became the new Half-Genius after he passed away
