dragi to rescue once again orz

I feel so lost without Camp NaNo. I've gone back to writing lore on FR, but... it's not the same. *dramatically turns away* Quite a catastrophe, I know. *weeps*

@Everyone wait that's a username @Everybody wait that's also a username

I've never had practice with WattPad before! When I was younger, I saw lots of things about kids being duped into handing over good pieces of work for basically no payback because in third grade, I totally wrote pieces that were worth millions. Millions, darling, and ever since, I've been terrified about putting my work on the web, because someone might steal it.

But yeah, I have to agree with Somebody! I think that's the perfect amount of words that a chapter can be. I remember reading books where each chapter is like 20 pages long, and I'm thinking to myself, OKAY YOU COULD'VE ENDED THIS TEN PAGES AGO, CAN WE MOVE ON NOW??

help how do you end posts

@Somebody
Congrats to you too! Now all that's left is editing yaaayyy

Oh my lord and savior Arceus, yesss, you are so right. At the beginning of the story, I was like, Okay, Dragi, you are going to make each chapter at LEAST seven pages long, k? K, me. Later: Ngggg, just put some descriptions in, that'll make it longer. Also later: WAT?? THIS CHAPTER IS ELEVEN PAGES?! END IT NOW, END IT NOW!

So yeah. Who knew writing could be so exciting? XD

@Nymphrasis
Hey, I saw your comment to Pauling, and what you said affects my entry.

When I read in the rules, "Both digital and a fullbody is very much preferred," I didn't know that meant that you would only accept digital art. I thought that you would prefer digital and be less inclined to award a traditional artist a prize.

I'm not, aha, good at digital art. Like, at all. I would love to be a part of this competition, but if you are only accepting digital art, I suggest that you update your rules to make it more clear. ^^ Also, I'll drop out of the competition. If you will accept traditional art, I'd love to stay in and continue my Zygarde! <3

I'm sorry for bothering you!

@Somebody

Comic-con! I've never been, but I've always wanted to go~

If you call '17k words to go' close, then absolutely! x-x I finally pulled together the last ends of my plot, wrote it down, so I actually have something to work towards, rather than ambling around until I reach my ending, haha.

But!! If I write like 1.6k words per day, I'll be able to finish it. Only one problem: my cousin's coming over on Thursday, and I'm definitely going to be distracted. .-. Yay, cram writing for the next four days! :D

Hey guys. My writing has hit a wall. I'm really not happy with how things are going, but I know they have to keep going this way for the plot to progress. Worst of all, the project that is slamming me with writers' block is my Camp NaNoWriMo project. I really need some help with it, at least some feedback on the beginning. It's my first draft. I'd love to post a link, but it swears a little bit at the beginning, i.e. breaking PH rules. If anyone could spare a few moments and give it a quick glance, just send me a PP. Thanks!

@Nish
Aw! It's adorable! I only noticed a small grammar error.

"She looked up. "Did you wish for something?", she asked, and she replied: "Yes, I did."" All there is is that there should be no comma after "Did you wish for something?"

Really, it's super cute! Nice job, especially for your first time doing romance.

Random question is random. This is kinda directed @everyone.

I think it might be cool to have like a discord or something for this club?? Maybe there could be club times to log on, and write your story, get critique on your project and stuff. I ran a writing club on FR, and we had a discord on there as well. It really kept the club alive, even after the thread died. ^^

What do you guys think?

@Lucky
Oml, I used to write out of order, but then I had all the fun parts done first, and EVERYTHING ELSE WAS BORING. >:\ It's funny, because my writing really needs to help me along. Sometimes I feel like I'm just saying to myself, shhh, don't worry, the main character's death scene is coming up soon... shhh, that'll be fun to write.
But I totally plot out the ending miles before I'm there. I hate stories with bad endings, so I try to make all of mine interesting/have a twist/or have SOME ACTUAL CLOSURE. *glares at fourth grade and Stewart Little*

@Reckless
I haven't had a chance to read AWNROP, but I'll see if I can squeeze in a few chapters later. :0

Writer's block is the worst thing in the entire universe. Okay, maybe not the worst, but you get my point. I have so much experience with this terrible affliction, seeing as I've probably written more this month than I have for the whole other part of the year. When I suffer from it, I usually wallow in misery, drop the project for years, come back to it, and then rewrite the whole thing. HOWEVER, I know that's not a healthy approach, and probably wouldn't be prescribed by a professional.

What I would do is take a step back from your project. Look at what you want to write. Really focus on it. Try writing a little of it. If it's still not working, back up again. Repeat.

If this doesn't work for you, set a timer for thirty minutes and an amount of words you want to write. Let's say your goal is 1k words in 30 minutes... ready, set, go! It's a great way to get words flowing, and it's a motivational game I like to play with myself. wow that came out really lonely

Another thing that you can do that might be a little long-term is take a break from your current writing project and shift to another one. Keep writing it, and wait until you really, really want to pick up your current writing project again. Then you'll be refreshed and eager!

Finally, if none of those work for you, just blast through that tough part. Sit yourself down, say to yourself that you are going to write this piece, and even if it comes out horribly, keep going. You'll find that your writer's block begins to go away. The rough patches might need some editing, but that is the biggest part of writing!

The second and fourth suggestions are what I use to overcome writer's block a lot! Sometimes, my writer's block gets so bad that I have to scrap a project that I've been working on for a while. It's hard to tell between oh, I hate writing this part and oh, I hate writing this piece.

Anyways, I think I've found out that I like posting super long things here so enjoy my rambling-ness. :P
