Willowfeather flicked an ear as a gnat buzzed an inch away. Her eyes remained shut, but her tail twitched, as if hyper-aware of everything going on around her. Claws sinking in and out of the soft soil that fell like a carpet in her cave, a growl thrumming in her throat.

The cat opposite her, a dark male with a gray tinged muzzle, had tears streaming down his handsome muzzle. "I'm sorry, Willowfeather." He murmured. "My life is now in the paws of Starclan."

Hot, stinging tears cascaded down her face, her heart aching so much she felt it burst. "Dusksong... don't leave me..."

A small, familiar, yet sad smile found its way on to Dusksong's muzzle. He was staring into her eyes, "Just... carry on without me... it was never meant to be." With his last sigh, he died, still staring into her eyes.

And Willowfeather, now awake and miserable, wept for her dead mentor.

Hajila rolled her eyes, head in view of the annoyed Spirit Animaled. She's being a fool. Hajila snarled in her mind, to no one in particular, since Jaglar was resting from his assault on the panther. She's being selfish, I was trying to give her advice! Jaglar's weak voice, still somehow able to drip with sarcasm weakly wafted into her thoughts, This is what you get for being 'nice'.

Okay, fine. If Ann were going to hate her, she might as well be as rough as she could to harden her up. Hajila grew her claws out and tore the canvas below her in half, causing it come out from under both Spirit Animaled, which made them land heavily in a stall, landing on hard watermelons. Without even a carefree glance Ann's way, she hopped off the fruit and began to sprint at the highest speeds she could manage without Jaglar, towards the city walls.

Noko grinned at the Pokemon's questions. "I'm Noko. And to answer two of your questions, I evolved when I 'died'. So all my wounds were healed." Gazing sidelong against his back, he murmured, "I wish I could evolved now. But there are no more changes."

"We are near my territory. While I thank you for your bravery and saving me from the flames, I must remind you that you cannot venture into my territory, unless you are harmless." Flicking his gaze between the two razor sharp swords he said, "And I can see that you are not. You'll have to wait some other time when I can actually take on a Pokemon in my own home. Good day."

With that, Noko slipped out of the river, throwing the occasional glance over his shoulder.

Noko glanced up, raising his dripping muzzle from the cool, soft water. Instead of answering, he plunged his head under water, carrying his antlers with it. When he lifted his head, the clear water streamed from the jade colored leaves.

"Now... to answer the question, yes. I was a Deerling. But my name is not Sawsbuck, nor yours is Doublade." At this point, he cocked his head to the right, swiveling his ears forwards.

Noko glanced at the pathway, freshly cut branches jutting into the pathway. He winced as the burn was opened by an especially sharp branch. He shook off the pain, scattering ruby droplets. The river... so close. His mouth literally watered with the imagined feel of water running down his back. He shivered slightly, part with delight, part with anticipation.

Ignoring the pricks and stabs of the branches, he bounded across the ash strewn pathway. Some of the soot flew into his eyes, and by the time he splashed in the lake, he was virtually blind and blood and ashes has souped together to make a type of mush that dribbled down his back in clumps.

The cool water soothed his pain and washed away the collected ash. He laughed, a sound that was so joyous, so beautiful, that it warmed his own heart to hear it. Then, suspicions arose in him. Who was this Pokemon? Well, the Honedge from before, obviously. He saw his trainer.

But had he evolved? Into two swords? In a way, it was scary. Two swords to deal with, if it came to a fight. Did he know who he was?
