Yes, you can make an Emera-variant evolution from an original Pokémon [like Alolan Raichu, Galarian Mr. Mime]

Slight correction on this, as I asked confirmation/information from Riako. As we, the site as a whole, have permission to use the sprites, all sprites on PH can be used for contests contained within PH. Those sprites cannot be used for contests outside of PokéHeroes.

So, you can use Gen 6 (and up) sprites from PokéHeroes, but you can only show/use those sprites on PokéHeroes.

Preferably one PM with all entries or several PMs with the same "subject", so they are stacked together.

No. The type-changed starters haven't gotten an evolution (and according to the Poll probably won't), so if you think a certain pokémon wouldn't evolve after adapting, that's perfectly acceptable.

If you plan on using PH-sprites, yes. There are plenty of archieval sites that allow you to use their sprites for spriting, though, so you're not limited to Gen 5 and earlier for the contest.

If the change makes sense, that's not necessary. However, Breloomio is an Event (not a variant), so I wouldn't use that as a justification for sprite-differences in the shiny.

If there is something wrong with the entry (broken code, size,...) and I notice it in time, I'll reply to the PM.
If the design doesn't match, I don't reply. I might be the only one on Staff thinking it doesn't (or the only one thinking it does) fit, so I won't know 100% whether it qualifies or not until the voting has started.

You cannot just make a mega for a pokémon that doesn't have one. That would count as an event, not a variant.

Considering we're asking for variants, rather than events, the only previous sprites that would've been submitted would've been event sprites [or mega sprites] neither of which would qualify.
Altering is something I can't justifiably say 'yes' or 'no' to, because as most of these things, it depends on how much (or little) got altered.

No, you don't. Diancie (Emera), one of the DOs, has an egg that falls outside the normal Egg outline.

The size shouldn't be too different, but you can slightly adjust the form.

Yes, you can have multiple entries. @Riodise - Let's put it this way, Dalmatians or Australian Shepards don't exist in the pokémon world, so there's no reason for a Pokémon to evolve to resemble those dogs. If your entry is based on real life things, they're events, not variants. [Read more]

Emera Variant Spriting Contest

Shhhhh! Did you hear that? Let's see if we can catch it!

There have been several new discoveries in Emera Town (and surroundings), but it seems like some Pokémon migrated and adapted to living here. Remember those weird Shellos and that green Diancie? We're trying to figure out how else the other Pokémon have adapted to the ever changing Emera Town.

We've heard some critters crawling around and saw some recognizable flashes, but we never saw the whole thing.

Maybe you guys have seen them? If you have, please tell us everything you know! What Pokémon came to Emera Town? How did they adapt to the ever changing weather? What else can be found in the environment (water/air/ground/...) that caused Pokémon to change their appearance? Maybe they completely changed typing, like some starters?

So. . . what exactly do you need to do? ~~I pretend to hear you thinking~~

Reward Time
As with all contests, there's something in it for everyone who joins. If you're one of the winners, not only is your sprite going to be part of a site-wide event distribution, you'll also get a shiny of that sprite as a prize!

Sprite Requirements
!! Your sprite must NOT have been published elsewhere, anywhere. Only new and original sprites are allowed !!
Sprite Size: The size of the canvas you use should be 96 x 96 px . The sprite itself doesn't need to be that size, but please fill in the needed space with transparent pixels.

Sprite design: You are free to choose any (non-legendary) Pokémon as a base for your sprite. Whether that Pokémon has an evolution line or not, is also entirely up to you. However, the bigger it is, the more impressive it needs to be, so they're worth being released. But, most importantly, have fun!
We are NOT looking for Event Pokémon. We are looking for Emera variants (like the Galarian, Alolan, Hisuian forms)

Obtaining and evolving: You are allowed to suggest a way to obtain* and/or evolve** your Emera Pokémon. This is decided upon separately and will not affect your Emeran Pokémon-submission. It's possible for your Emeran Pokémon to win, but still be obtained/evolved differently.

copyright: The sprite has to be done completely by you. You are not allowed to include (parts of) sprites from other artists, excluding official sprites, which can be used as a base. Previous sprites can also not be submitted. You are NOT allowed to publish your sprite anywhere during the contest and event time.

* example: "Collect 10 Ice Cream Cornets on Rumble Missions"
** example: Fill your Party with the Event Pokémon and 5 other Water Pokémon in order to make it evolve

The amount of accepted user-made Events depends on the quality & quantity of the submissions. We cannot release 3 huge Event Distributions within one month, but we can obviously publish 3-4 minor Events in a month.
We'll pick the best submissions and create an individual Event Distribution based on the amount of winners.

Deadline
The deadline is March 15th, 23:59
The winners will be chosen by us, the staff, based on quality.

Note: due to Riako wanting to keep the sprites a secret as long as possible, the winners will only be revealed on the day their sprite will be released. This will cause some winners to know they've won earlier than others.
The consolation prize will only be distributed when the last winner is revealed.
If there is a long(er) period between the second-to-last and the last winner prizes may be distributed earlier [and the final winner will be notified by me and sworn to secrecy]
