"Oh, SHUT IT!" Mei snapped, her tone sharp and full with pure hatred and anger., but also shaking slightly. It didn't look like her signature grin was coming back any time soon. Her head jerked around to face Solaro again and she jabbed her pointer finger in their direction, her face nearly matching her tone, except with a slight deadpan stare. "Just leave me the f**k alone, got that? How many times will I have to say it before you dumbasses listen?"

Mei immediately let her hand fall back to her side before she turned away again, her expression cold and intimidating. She muttered a few curses as she took a few steps forward, trying to walk away but finding it difficult to do so in such a small room. Her breathing had mostly returned to normal but her body still shook, the thought of a potential endless emptiness around them still in her mind. Even if it wasn't real, even if Saeko and Sawyer were wrong, she couldn't stop thinking about it.

Get a grip, jesus christ.

Yeah... Right... She couldn't be this careless and reckless. She took a deep sigh and looked back up from the floor and subtly looked at everyone in the room, saying nothing else. Then she spotted Idris.

...Something was up with him, and Mei wasn't sure what. He certainly didn't look happy to see her, that's for sure.

She made it worse.

Oh god, she made it worse, didn't she.

...

And you're fine with that, aren't you?

She quickly averted her eyes from him, her expression barely changing to show a hint of sadness, but barely enough to be noticeable. Could the damn bear just do something already?

(rip my original post that's 10x better, i completely forgot what i wrote so here's a really bad one, might edit if i get ideas)

Dammit... They didn't miraculously die...

She shot a glare over to the screeching little jerk and scoffed, looking away and crossed her arms, tapping her fingers impatiently. Mei really wished she would've never had to listen to them ever again, but oh well...

Her eyes landed on Idris, where she had to stifle a laugh when she saw his messy hair falling stupidly over his eyes, and the helmet adding to the ridiculousness. Taking a look at everyone else only made it harder to keep herself from laughing, but she eventually did once taking another look around.

"Pfft, what? Not my fault you guys look stupid as hell!" She retorted, upon seeing that Akari guy glare at her.

But she couldn't help but wonder... Was Saeko right? Were they really in space? That was... odd to say the least. Why, and how, would Monokuma do that?

She shoved down the lump in her throat and tapped her fingers against her arm quicker, her eyes darting around the room and her breathing got slightly heavier. Her face went dark after thinking about that, if Saeko was right...

Space... Mei didn't like space, it was cold, dark, desolate, boring, and a thousand other things she hated about it. She preferred to watch the sky above from her backyard, keeping her distance from the great beyond. Sure, it was pretty to look at the stars on a clear night, but being among them?

It sent shivers down her spine.

. . .

"...Hey dad? What's it like up there?"

"Well... It's just an endless abyss filled with stars and planets, nothingness in every direction. Why do you ask, sweetie?"

"Oh... Sounds sad and boring...

I dunno, just wonderin'!"

"Heh, well at least we can look at how pretty it is from here, right?"

"...You think it's pretty?"

"Sure I do, ___! Don't you?"

"Y-Yeah, but you said it was an 'endless abyss', what's so pretty about that?"

What's so pretty... about that...?

How can something so empty and cruel be so... pretty?

Cruel, dark, empty, unforgiving... An endless nothingness that swallows you whole, nothing around you to save you...

But it looked like a dream from far away.

But... Why would those nightmares from far away look "pretty"...?

. . .

Mei's fingers only went faster and faster, tapping harder and harder. Her eyes were distant and cold, not looking at anything in particular. Her head was lowered and her face had darkened, and if you looked closely, you could see her body shivering slightly. She didn't even realize it, since she was lost in her own thoughts by that point.

It felt like the cold grasp of nothingness that space had was gripping her throat, making it hard to breathe. She swallowed another lump and just kept tapping.

Tapping.

Tapping.

Tapping calmed her down, being in space didn't.

. . .

She hated this, she didn't want to be here... Even if that brat was wrong, and Mei doubted they were, it didn't help that the emptiness and unfamiliarity of the situation around them was good enough to latch its cold, unforgiving fingers around her neck.

And she was showing weakness in front of people who may even try to kill her. She let her guard slip, and now she was tapping anxiously in a room full of people.

Tap.

Tap.

Tap.

. . .

She jumped, like, jumped when Sawyer laid their hands on her, their squeals filling her ears and snapping them out of it.

"WHAT THE HELL?!" She yelled, pushing Sawyer off of her. She absolutely hated being touched, especially hugs. It scared the ever-living s**t out of her too. "WHAT THE F**K IS WRONG WITH YOU?!" She yelled again, staring bullets into Sawyer's face.

"Space is so beautiful. The vast expanse of the void, the countless planets and galaxies, all in harmony with one another... Coming together to form a universe... I wish Horatia and Kaoru got to see this too..."

Her very unpleasant expression slowly panned over to Lucian, and she shot a glare at him too. She said nothing though, but instead turning away and huffed angrily. "Jesus christ, leave me alone already, would'ja? I just woke up, and I am not in the mood for y'alls BS..."

There was a slight bit of nervousness, fear, and a whole lot of anger in her voice. She hated this... She hated it already...

Why the hell was she letting herself think about these things when she was in a room full of people under the hands of that damn bear?

Astrophobia moment

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

She stared blankly at the screen, blinking in bewilderment a few times before actually moving. She wasn't in the mood to be all giddy and annoying, so she didn't jump up and down and scream "OMYGOSHOMYHOSHAREWEPLAYINAMOGUS" like the idiot she was.

She instead got off the cot, squinted at the screen, then chuckled. "Galaga? Space Invaders? Wonder what little game you'll subject your 16 'kiddos' to next, you dumb bear..." She muttered to herself, putting on her helmet in a semi-awkward way.

...What, she's never done this before. Besides, she had thick hair, ok?

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Akari let out a quiet groan upon hearing the bear speak, slowly getting up from the cot and rubbing his eyes. "Ehhh?" He looked at the helmet that was conveniently placed next to him and sighed, slowly ripping off his beanie and shoving it in a pocket or something idk. He tried to fix his messy hair but it was useless, and even the small braid he had in his bangs was starting to show fray hairs... He felt a little vulnerable without his trusty black cloth on his head, so he immediately put on the helmet and simply sat there, waiting for what to do next.

...Huh.

Mei didn't remember falling asleep, and she certainly didn't remember this weird, gray room and uncomfortable cot she woke up in. Agh... What the hell?

First off, last thing she remembered was runnin' around at the speed of sound in the hallways, looking for Idris, and apparently she had fallen asleep somewhere? Not only that, Mei was brought to a room she had never seen before...

Mei got up with a groan and rubbed her forehead, her eyes half closed and her hair an absolute mess, and a few mutters about something were made as she propped herself up and started looking around the room.

Everyone else was here, and it looked like she was one of the first ones up...

Thank god.

Mei let out a sigh of relief at that, since she absolutely hated being unconscious in any sort of way around others. Who knows, someone could stab her, someone could touch her, someone could be spewing valuable secrets right there in front of her, and she would never know. ...Maybe that's why she was so tired, sleeping was just something she could do every day, like watering the flowers or something, but she didn't have to, at least not in her eyes.

Besides, she had a habit of barely sleeping, falling into a state that could barely be called sleep but it did the job. Sleep with one eye open, if you will.

Or else you'll have those nightmares.

Eugh... She shook that thought away and pulled her legs over to the side of the cot, letting them drape over it.

So... what was she supposed to do?

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Akari woke up to a different room than he remembered falling asleep in, which shook him a bit. He didn't try to get up right away, he just simply let his eyes slowly open and adjust to the dull gray ceiling above.

How... odd.

He wasn't usually a heavy sleeper, thanks to those godawful nightmares, so... How the hell did he end up here, with no recollection of what happened during the night?

He turned his head slightly to see everyone else in cots, trying to think about whatever this could be, but he got nothing. He just woke up and he was definitely not in the mood for this.

"Can all students gather in the Main Hall please, as it is lunchtime!"

Ugh, finally! She was getting really bored, especially with her emo dormmate doing absolutely nothing interesting. She yawned and stretched in the chair, putting the now-solved cube back in its spot lazily, then throwing herself onto her feet again. Mei wasn't exactly hungry, but at least it gave her something to do for a bit. Besides, what if they were serving dino nuggets? Highly unlikely, given how snobby and stuck-up this prestigious school was, but there was a chance.

With her hopes high and a slight gleam of excitement in her eyes, she hopped her way to the door and gave Idris an exaggerated wave, flinging her entire arm around. "Hehe, see ya later!" She giggled and opened the door, almost leaving before saying something else.

"Or are you sooooo boring that you'll just have your face in that book all day, like the big edgy nerd you are?"

Wow Mei, you're totally amazing at insults. Totally wasn't the most generic thing you could've said.

She giggled to herself a little before walking out the door, heading to the Main Hall once again.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Aoi had just been sitting on his bed the entire time, doing pretty much nothing. He sighed upon hearing the announcement, not really all that hungry (how would that even work?) and definitely not interested in hanging out in a room full of people. He slowly got off the bed and walked out the door, then went to the Main Hall.

Mei stopped in her tracks when Lucian started talking, not turning to face him or anything. Her pose simply relaxed, none of it exaggerated, and if Lucian could see her face, all he'd see is her whacky grin disappear. Kubo had already left by now, so she didn't have to worry about him or anything.

A long silence was held, until she finally spoke. Her voice could barely be heard, but it was monotonous.

"Stabbed through the chest, huh..." She muttered out, her mouth forming into a slight sad smile. "Pretty stupid of you to take my words seriously, don'tcha think?"

Lucian had already walked away by now, but she still wanted to say one thing, even if she was muttering into utter silence.

"...You're not a bad person Lucian."

And if you're getting me to say this cheesy bullcrap, then it's gotta be true, right?

"...Sorry."

. . .

Mei walked away slowly after that, then slowly continued to skip toward the cafeteria. She gently opened the door, and...

That back-stabbing mop-head liar! Goddammit how dare he not be in here!

She groaned and started to leisurely run around the hallways to find him, screaming, "GODDAMMIT IDRIS CAN YOU BE REASONABLE AND NOT TO END UP DEAD EVERY 5 SECONDS?!?!"

If he kept this up, she might have to ditch him and let him be a depressed little emo boy all alone. She wasn't above doing that, after all.

Oh would you look at the time, time-skip moment.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

idk akari died or something idk

Actually, he simply nodded at the two and got up from his seat after they left. Guess he had clean-up duty... He was fine with that, after all, it would keep him distracted a little while longer.

His shaky hands picked up the soup bowls and the chip plate, carrying them back to the kitchen. No one seemed to be around, except for a fire that had suddenly appeared, so he should be fine.

He took off his gloves so he couldn't get them wet and started cleaning off the dishes, then desperately tried to put out the fire.

Was he, or was he not successful? Find out next time on the next episode of Danganronpa Z!

...Anyways, after he was done, he simply headed back to the dorms and took a much needed nap.

Ugh... Just as she was about to walk away, that stupid bear talked again. Didn't she tell him to shut up? Twice?

"Oh, but he's the headmaster! You can't tell him what to do!"

She just did, deal with it. Respecting your elders is lame anyways.

She turned on her heel with her arms outstretched slightly, whirling around with her as she looked back behind her. She took her two index fingers and pulled her eyes down, leaning forward, and blowing a raspberry before giggling and skipping away.

"Rule number one, don't threaten me with a good time, got that?" She yelled back cheerfully, her head still turned to face in front of her. She held her free hand up and waved her fingers, then turned the corner to go to the stairs.

After she fell out of sight from both Idris and Monokuma, her grin faded and her face became cold, slightly exhausted. She was walking normally now, slightly hunched over with one hand in her pockets and the other carrying the supplies. She made it up the stairs and walked slowly to the room she honestly shouldn't be familiar with by now, letting out a sigh when she got to the door.

Her footsteps were irregular, following a 1 2, 1 2, 1 2 pattern. Now, I'm not an expert in this, but I'd say she was limping a little bit.

She did too much standing up today... Her legs hurt.

She entered the room and sat down on one of the chairs instead of throwing the kit somewhere and leaving, taking a deep breath as she leaned back and closed her eyes.

Her legs... Hurt...

. . .

Mei took longer than she wanted to in the office, but she walked out the door with the same dull face and headed back to the cafeteria, still walking slowly but no longer limping. Mei had actually out in the effort to put the kit back neatly, as well as the even more used roll of bandages, but that was probably the last time she would bother with something like that. She let out a yawn that echoed slightly in the hallway she was in, and she kept walking. Her legs didn't really hurt anymore, but she was tired and really wanted to just take it slow. Although, she couldn't help but think... How long had Idris been waiting on her? She didn't bother to check a clock and could honestly care less really, but she made it seem like she was going to make it quick. She had to have been gone for a suspicious amount of time, right?

Eh, whatever, not like she was doing anything suspicious. Even if something did happen, she knew that she didn't do it. She could probably convince everyone else that she didn't do anything anyways.

She kept walking and walking, pretty mindlessly as she hardly made a noise in this empty hallway until...

Mei heard a noise.

Yadda yadda yadda, something about a grim reaper and an angel or some bullcrap, she didn't really bother to listen closely. Wait... Was that...

Mei quietly snuck up to the corner and slightly peeked her head out so she could see who was talking, her purple eyes widening when she saw...

Kubo and Lucian. Hugging.

Mei jumped out from hiding and crouched down slightly, sticking her index finger straight at them while putting on an evil grin.

"Aaaa-HAH! I KNEW YOU TWO HAD SOMETHIN' GOIN ON!" She laughed a little bit before hopping forward, looking down at the two while they hugged.

"I don't care WHAT you guys say, I ain't buyin' it! Hehe, FIIIIIRRRSSST it was the very odd and totally not suspicious 'THERAPY' session, and now THIS? Oh ho ho, now THIS was interesting~"

Mei laughed a little bit more before stepping back, placing her hands on her hips and grinning maliciously at the two. She acted completely different from the cold, cruel demeanor Lucian last saw her as, and it all looked genuine too.

I dunno maybe she was a theater kid, probably why she's so "quirky".

"Awww, am I interrupting a moment? A little bonding session? Awww, I'm so sorry! Please forgive me oh great Sally Face, I won't intrude on your little moment with Mr.Snowflake over here aaaaaannnyy longer, I'll get outta y'alls hair!"

She whirled around on her heel as her arms flew out at her sides, turning around and walking towards the cafeteria slowly, looking back at them the entire time.

"I'll toooottaallly keep this little thing a secret, don't you worry! Hehe, cya~" She waved them off, but walked so slowly that it looked like she was waiting for them to do something before she left.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

He sat silently, listening to the two talk on and on while he mainly just stared at his barely touched bowl. He had taken another bite since they started, but it was barely even a single, full noodle.

Then they asked him another question, the mention of his name making him jump a little as he returned from zoning-out a little bit.

He wasn't used to talking so much, and especially wasn't used to being asked for his opinion. Sure, most would find it considerate that these two would be so concerned about their opinions, but Akari...

He just had nothing to say. He kinda wished they would stop, but he knew that would be a little rude to say anything about it. Besides, that was just his anti-socialness showing, right? He wanted to be more "involved", but how could he do that if he didn't try talking every once in a while.

"Well... Does the time really matter? I-I mean-" he stammered a little bit, realizing that he was a little blunt there. "Any time seems fine, r-right? As long as it's not... Y'know... During something else...? I-I don't know..."

Awkward moment

And just like that, she had changed once again. No more anger or seriousness was left on her face or her voice, just the childish and annoying Mei had remained. She sprang up and threw her hands in the air, grinning wildly while giggling. "Heeeeellll yeaaah!" She exclaimed, turning on her heel so she could grab the first-aid kit and wad of bandages before bouncing to the door. "Luuuunnch tiiiimme!" She giggled once again, placing her hand on the doorknob, still grinning as she looked back at Idris. She should probably put this stuff away in the nurse's office before she did anything else though, maybe he'd tag along. She'd be quick anyways, just throw things back, then go to the cafeteria. Quick and simple.

. . .

"Thanks for fixing me up, 'Doc."

...

...You're welcome, Idris.

I'm happy to help.

. . .

She yanked the door open and flung herself around it, then bounced into the hallway, waving the things in her hands around. She appeared to be so energetic and hyper that her feet couldn't stop moving. She was constantly bouncing around, her grin and giggles followed her quietly as she did so. "I'mma go put this stuff up, you comin'?" She tilted her head to the side and relaxed her grin as she asked Idris, watching him leave the room.

"Oooooorrrrrr... You wanna leave poor little ol' me alone and go to the cafeteria?"

"Hehe, don't blame ya, do whatever ya want! I ain't gonna stop you~" She giggled and turned away, looking back at him one last time with a smile before slowly walking away, lifting her feet up in an exaggerated manner as she walked

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

"A-alright then..." He looked down at his soup and finally took a single bite, then looked back up at Darcy and Sawyer and spoke again. He wasn't a fan of adding more people, considering how many people here were downright cruel, but he wouldn't protest. He could just hope that he wasn't going to be noticed at said "party", no big deal.

"I-I'm fine with anything, really... Just... W-whatever you guys want to do, I guess..."

He paused for a moment, pursing his lips again before speaking. "R-really, I'm fine with whatever..." He wasn't sure why he felt the need to reassure them, but he did anyways.

He decided to say nothing about the details Darcy and Sawyer were discussing, the former brought up a good point. He wasn't exactly sure on where would be a good place, and he wasn't sure on supplies either...

He took another bite of his soup slowly, almost getting tired of forcing himself at this point. The soup was really good, it's just... He wasn't exactly used to eating something like this, or at all really.

idk what to write tbh

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Mei was in the middle of moving things around, gathering everything she used and putting them neatly back into the box when Monokuma arrived. She let out a loud groan but didn't turn around, still continuing to put things back. By the time she was done, it looked like the box had never been touched.

"Oh shadDUP, will ya? Jesus christ you're annoying..." Mei shot back, obviously not pleased to see Monokuma's BS. She finally turned around and started to lean on the table she was using, gripping the edges with both of her hands. She rolled her eyes at whatever he was saying, groaning once again.

"Do you want 'em dead or not? Look, I'm all for finishing the job myself, but it ain't worth not havin' a trial, right?"

She slowly lowered her back to lean against the table and crossed her arms instead. Honestly, she was so angry and so over this bullcrap that she had no idea what she was even saying. Oh well, not like it mattered, right?

"Just shut that dumb mouth of yours..." She glared at the bear, leaning forward before taking a few steps towards him, her arms still crossed.

She took one glance at Idris after his threat, raising her eyebrow slightly, but not saying a word. Heyyyy... No fair... She didn't get to have knives everywhere! And besides, there were rules in place anyways... As much as she wanted to do the same, make this stupid bear into something not even Octavian could do, it wasn't worth it. She knew the bear wasn't bluffing either, she recalled what happened when they first got here. All someone did was touch Monokuma and they were flung across the room. Geez... What a party pooper.

"And I prefer the term 'son of a b***h' instead, a'ight? Or..." Mei knelt down and crossed her arms across her knees, smirking. "You just sayin' the s**t your wife calls you at the dinner table?"

"Go bug someone else you stupid hunk o' junk..." She muttered, pointing to the door while keeping her eyes on that empty black dot Monokuma had, the red one was just too edgy for her.

idk what else to put here lol, mei is hard to write epically

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

...He did it again, didn't he? His inability to actually speak had led to a drop in the mood once again, and the guilt welled up in his throat. He was still looking away from them, but the weight in his throat had led to his hands moving to the back of his neck once again, rubbing the cold cloth covering his hand over the already slightly red skin.

"I-... Sorry I didn't mean-" He quickly tried to say, then tried to swallow the lump in his throat afterward.

No more hugs, please...

He didn't want to say that out loud, figuring it would be fairly rude to do so, and instead he skipped over it.

"N-no no, that's alright, I'm..." He sighed, realizing that he was jumping around his words again, the clarity of his speed barely above a mutter.

"A party is fine, it's just..." He paused then did a small shrug, still looking nowhere near the two, just a random spot on the other end of the table. "I don't... I-I'd probably just be a drag..."

Akari wasn't exactly sure if he'd be any help setting things up anyways, or doing anything really. He obviously wasn't very sociable and he was constantly tense, so he probably wasn't the best person to invite to a "party", right?

Well, he could still try.

. . .

"Like... hmmmm, there are probably other thingies we could do! If 'Karster doesn't want to do that."

"...Karster...?" His eyes looked back towards Sawyer, a slightly confused look on his face. Well that was... Something. Not a name he's ever heard before. Then again, the only names he had been called before was Akari, 'Kari, and...

And 'Ri.

But only one person called him that one. And he...

He was dead.

"Head blown off and everythin'. Limbs brutally f**ked up, looks like a block of swiss cheese... Sorry Xenauta, I'm afraid he ain't comin' home."

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Akari's blank stare at Sawyer's bowl suddenly became came back in focus again once they spoke, causing him to look back up.

"...Huh?"

"Oh, of course I'm okay! I'm fine! In fact, way better than okay! I'm doing great!"

"A-alright, sorry..." He immediately felt bad for asking, even if there was no good reason to.

"Are you okay, Akari? You seem a bit frowny-faced!"

Akari paused and took another deep breath, finally dipping his fork into the soup bowl, still not taking another bite of food. He hated forcing himself to eat, but he hadn't eaten in, what... A day or two? Not since before... Her trial, after all. Guess he just had to keep trying.

"Yeah, yeah I-" He started out, interrupted by Sawyer slamming on the table. He didn't even know if he could finish that sentence anyways, considering the fact that it wasn't fully true, but...

"Jesus..." He jumped once again at the sudden movement, lowering his head in embarrassment. His breathing got noticeably heavier and his chest started pounding from the shock, and he placed the hand not holding the fork over his eyes while he calmed down. Loud noises... Loud sudden noises... He hated them.

"We should all go throw a party!! There are so many games we can play together, and we can have snacks, and talk, and, it'll be amay-zing! It'll be the greatest thing since hamsters!"

"I-... Uh-..."

"It's a GREAT idea! What do you two think?"

He really wasn't sure what to say, honestly. His tendency to withdraw from any social situation didn't really leave much room for parties after all. I mean, he didn't have anything better to do, but he was still very reluctant.

And... What did they even mean by that hamster part?

"What do you think, Akari?"

He sat in silence for a bit, looking between the two, not once putting his hands back on his bowl. What should he even say...?

Well, he should say the longest thing he's probably ever said since being here.

"I-... I don't-..." He started, then realized he wasn't going anywhere with it. Akari paused, then took a deep breath before continuing. "I don't exactly know... Never really went to parties... y'know? So... I mean... If you want to do it, then..." He gave a slow, small shrug as he looked away, finding it difficult to keep looking anywhere near them.

"I guess it's a good idea..."

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Was... Was Sawyer always like this? I mean, Akari didn't mind, but...

It just wasn't what he was used to, I guess. Everyone in his life was always so... Serious, no one ever had time for jokes or much fun, really. Guess he was just forced to grow up too quickly.

Especially because of her.

He looked up from the plates and bowls to look at the two, his face showing little expression other than exhaustion. His body was still extremely tense due to even being around others, and when Sawyer just randomly got up and hugged him...

Well, he jumped, recoiling at the touch. Akari wasn't exactly a "hugging" type of person, he didn't really like to be touched in general.

Especially because of her.

He watched as Sawyer mixed the two foods like he was a child mating a potion, which oddly, softened his stare. He would've smiled at how absurd and light-hearted it was if he wasn't so tense.

"Hey, Akari... do you want some soup?"

Truth be told, he was hungry, that's why he got into this mess in the first place, but honestly...

He could tell that he wouldn't be able to eat without forcing himself to, now matter how hungry he was right now. His throat grew tight at the thought of eating anything, but his stomach was empty anyways.

Oh well, couldn't hurt to try.

"Y-yeah, sure..." He said quietly, his voice seemed a little bit louder though. He looked down once again, back at the two dishes sitting at the table, then took a potato chip...

And ate it.

Well, not before dipping it in a little guacamole, but I had to do what I had to do to make a reference.

. . .

God he hated how he just made things so awkward, he barely spoke, and even when he did, his words held no weight, no meaning. They were just simple replies, and that's all the words he could say. He hated how he automatically tensed up at the sight of other people, even when he tried to calm his nerves or something. It's just... Those eyes.

Every time someone looked at him, he could feel their eyes. Were they... judging him? All he could feel were glares, daggers from each one of those eyes, even from the kindest ones, ones that never judged him.

Truth is, he never wanted to be this socially reclusive, it kinda just... happened. Living alone for so long at a young age also probably contributed to that, honestly.

And yeah, right here, right now, right in the middle of a killing game, this probably wasn't the best time or place, really, to actually try for once. Try to talk to people, try to get on their good side, try to ignore those daggers he felt every single day.

But seeing how Darcy and Sawyer reacted to him being here, it couldn't hurt... right? As bad as he felt for "ruining the mood" or whatever, just by being here, he could try to be better, right?

He looked up at the two again, noticing Sawyer's sad smile slowly inch its way there. "Sawyer are you... Are you ok...?" Akari asked, unsure if he did something wrong.

...Did he make Sawyer sad? Did he do something wrong?

No, no, no need to be pessimistic. No need to jump to conclusions.

. . .

While he looked at Sawyer, still not directly at their face, he remembered something. Something he should've never forgotten.

There wasn't much time left before things would be a pain in the ass for him, and it already happened on random occasions too. It was annoying as hell but he didn't make a big deal out of it, but soon...

It probably would be a big deal.

His softened expression slowly turned to its usual, tired, cold state, but he still looked at Sawyer and their sad smile. God... he didn't want to think about it, but he kinda had to. Well... Might as well enjoy the moment while he still could, even if he wouldn't be able too that easily much longer.

He let out a deep exhale and looked slightly down at Sawyer's food, not saying a word.

She lightly pressed the wet cloth to his skin, soaking up all the spare blood the best she could. It was all over his skin, all over his shirt... The cuts were pretty big and deep too...

Oh god this was gonna be a pain in the ass. She was used to stitching herself up, the pain didn't bother her, but doing this to someone else?

She could be reckless to her own body, make a mistake here and there, she'd be fine, but...

Would Idris, who seemed to recoil at any touch in the slightest?

Just... Get this over with. The quicker she could get done with this, the less angry she could get. Speaking of angry...

"How the hell do you just forget?! You're literally bleeding out right now!" Her voice got a little louder, and her eyes moved from the cuts to his face, her annoyance and shock plastered all over it.

She continued to mutter curses and other things as she finished cleaning most of the thicker blood off his skin, holding the cloth on the bigger wounds that still glowed a fresh blood red. First she needed to stop the bleeding, which seemed to be working so far. The blood had soaked the cloth by this point, so she grabbed another damp towel and placed it on top.

"See what..." She joked, but her tone didn't really make it obvious. She was much too focused on whatever the hell she was doing to watch her tone.

Almost instantly after the blood slowed down, not really soaking much of the initial cloth anymore, she grabbed a bottle of ointment in one fluid motion from the box, not even looking down to make sure it was still there.

Most first-aid kits were laid out the same way, at least, the bigger ones like the one she had now were. It was just muscle memory at this point, just like the steps she took to treat bigger cuts such as these.

She opened the bottle and put some ointment on her fingers, then started spreading it around the smaller cuts. She only lightly touched the outer, slightly red and swollen skin on the bigger cuts.

After a few moments, she dressed the cuts with gauze and bandages, making sure it stuck to his skin before backing away and putting everything back in the box.

"Stitches might be needed, just..." She groaned, really not in the mood to be doing or saying any of this right now. "Just don't move, 'k? Don't wanna mess up my 'handiwork', do ya?"

Akari sighed as he watched them leave, then looked back to the ingredients on the table. Guess it's time to make something for once in his life...

Last time we was able to make some food himself was... A year ago now? Since then he pretty much ate the same thing every day... Being at this damn school also gave him actual food for once in his life, which admittedly, kind of hurt his stomach. He wasn't used to eating this much, honestly.

He started by splitting open the avocados, stabbing the pit and taking it out with ease.

Every. Single. Time.

Akari was a god amongst men, those pesky avocado pits were nothing to him.

He mushed up the bright green stuff in the fruit, then chopped up some tomatoes, added some onions, garlic, salt, lime, all the good stuff. He even added some herbs and spices he recognized the name of, hoping they were the ones in the recipe.

Idk he made guac, I'm too lazy to go into detail. Use your imagination and pretend this is a cooking anime or something idk.

He put the finished product into a chip & dip plate, put some chips on there, then walked out of the kitchen, seeing Darcy and Saywer already eating their soup.

"Sorry..." He felt the need to apologize for taking literally the shortest amount of time possible to make something. "I uh... I made some extra food, I..."

He stopped, swallowing nervously before speaking again.

I hope you enjoy...

His mouth went dry again before he said that, so he just decided to say nothing else.

He sat the plate down and sat down, not grabbing his soup bowl while doing so. He only sat there in silence, doing nothing.

She glared at him as he spoke, wanting to spew out so many different profanities, but she refrained.

"Just shut up, alright? Shriveled raisins are disgusting anyways..." She grumbled, opening the box and grabbing everything she could possibly need. She then rushed back to where he sat and knelt down, not once looking up at his face, only at the red on his shirt.

"Lift your shirt up," She demanded. "Last time you said you were gonna do it, you walked out looking like this." She grumbled, urgency, anger, and almost a sense of panic flooding her voice.

"I am not taking no for an answer." Her tone was harsh and strict, but she was being serious. She didn't really care about any other implications this situation had right now, and to be honest, any embarrassment she would've had was only replaced by concern and anger anyways.

Akari paused at the offer, not really sure what to do, or even say. I mean... He already got the ingredients out... Maybe they could wait for him. He was trying his best to recover after all.

A simple lunch wouldn't hurt.

"I..." He pursed his lips before he continued, lifting his head up a bit more. But instead of looking at the two, he looked at the counter he was going to use before he was interrupted. "Yeah... Yeah, sure..."

"I'll be with you in a bit..." He responded quietly, finally setting the stuff down on the counter.

...Wouldn't hurt to bring something else other than soup.

He said nothing at the mention of Miyako, not really caring much anyways.

Mei quickly moved her hands back to her coat pockets as soon as she heard the door, her face still as bored and dull as ever. She was about to make a snarky remark before she saw...

Red.

Oh god.

She quickly moved off the wall, her eyes wide and full of the "what the hell?!" look as she moved closer to him.

"Idris what the f**k?!" She said loudly, a hint of anger in her voice, although it was mainly confusion and concern. "I-... Just-..." She stammered, not really able to put her thoughts into words at the moment. She shot her finger to a nearby chair then looked back at his face. "Sit your ass down, now." Her eyes were glaring at the red seeping through, and after she examined most of it, she rushed to get a spare towel to soak it.

"You idiot... Jesus christ, you idiot!" She muttered as she came back with the towel, grabbing the translucent box on her way back to where Idris was.
