In the Human Capitol was an arena, people all over the Empire of Landal loved visiting it. The Arena was where people would slash at each other until one dies, and the one that lives gets money and fame. The most famous of all the competitors was Cyan-Shield. Or Randin Cyan-Shield if you knew him personally. His face was always covered by his helmet for in-battle safety and so he doesn’t get chased by fans when just trying to live his life.

Cyan-shield won another battle and was signing souvenirs, balls, and papers. Interact with the fans. It’s good for business! The boss of the Arena would always say. Sometimes Cyan-Shield wonders why he signed that contract to fight, couldn’t he do something useful with his skills. He sat there, signing. “Excuse me.”

“One at a time” Cyan said, not looking up.
“Cyan-Shield, I don’t want an autograph, I want help!”
Cyan looked up, “meet me when the Arena closes. NEXT!”

The person who wanted assistance was the politician Onla Sorry-Sayer. She waited outside the grounds, looking up from her book occasionally. “What do you need?” Cyan-Shield looked much different than with his armor and helmet on, he was incredibly average looking. “Also, who are you not trying to be rude.” Onla stood akimbo.

“Onla Sorry-Sayer. Five-and-a-halfth command of the emperor and City Planner. I designed the Arena, the City Gardens, and my sister runs the Fish Restaurant!” Onla seemed proud, to which Cyan-Shield replied, “Never heard of you, but I love your sister’s food.” Onla’s shoulders dropped and her grip on her book she carried everywhere loosened. “Oh, understandable. Anyways, I need your help gathering some of the toughest sand smartest people from all over Landal. You’re the chosen human.” Cyan’s eyes darted. “Why?” Onla continued, “BECAUSE the southern area of Landal has been converted from Crimson Cityscape to Crimson Wastelands. And I need tough individuals to sort the problem out… and smart ones to figure out what the problem is.”

Cyan put a finger to his chin. “I see. Why and how did this happen? What happened to the Hexapods?” Onla shrugged. “I dunno, all I know is their machines have suddenly went against programming. I plan on speaking to Lord Chlorn of the Photonians about this, he has a huge library. Second biggest in the Empire… and I don’t have permission into the biggest.” Cyan said, “sounds risky. Not doing it.” Onla was stupefied. “You. Fight. In. The. Arena. And. Saving. Lives. Is. Risky?”

Cyan-Shield sighed. “Tomorrow, let me rest and get my armor.”
