By the way, I created an assignment in the classroom: to get 50 XP by April 23. You can ignore this if you want to, but it shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. Good luck with your learning! In case you haven't already, make sure to join the classroom at this link so that I can track your progress and give you prizes. Thank you again for joining my little club! I just edited my main post to include a new section about providing Doduos. Also, I added a new line to the sign-up form to make sure that people join the classroom that I have set up. However, you do not have to change your posts to reflect the changes in the form if you have posted already. Feel free to take a look! [Read more] |

![]() ![]() If you've stumbled across this thread, there's a pretty good chance that you're currently incredibly bored. Maybe you've just finished interacting with everyone online and are reading through the forums looking for something else to do. Or maybe you're just browsing the forums while waiting for an auction to end. Maybe you're a new user and are just looking for some fan clubs to join, or maybe you just happened to randomly run across the thread in my "About Me" section. In any case, I have something that you may be interested in doing: learning a completely new language! Now, you may be thinking, "Why would I want to learn a language?" Well, for starters, fluency in multiple languages is a useful skill. Learning languages is productive and can be fun, and is overall a good use of your time. I understand if you don't want to spend so much effort and time doing something unnecessary and unexciting, but honestly, if you're on this thread right now, you most likely have nothing better to do. Or maybe you're wondering "How am I supposed to learn a language at home on my computer?" Well, many of you have probably already realized this based on the (horrible pun in the) title: using the popular language-learning app Duolingo! It's fun, (debatably) easy, and free, and it's a great way to spend those extra minutes of boredom that you have right now. Duolingo will not bring you to a completely fluent level, but it does teach a good amount of material to beginners. So why not try? Also, many of you may be thinking "If I wanted to learn a language, I could've learned it on my own. Why create a thread for this?" My answer to that question: I will be giving out PRIZES to you! Some people have always dreamed of learning a language, but have lacked the motive. Well, I'm here to provide that push for you! I will provide some prizes for successfully learning, and those prizes are listed below. Now here are a few rules: 1. The language that you are learning cannot be your native language. Although I don't really care that much about what I own on this site and wouldn't really be too angry about giving away free prizes, I only intend to give prizes away to people who are actually trying to learn something new. Also, I will be tracking your progress, so I will be able to see if you skip ahead to the end of the course directly after starting. 2. Preferably, the language being learned should be something completely new for you. However, it would be OK if you used the website to continue learning a language that you know very little of. 3. Please do not be rude. I understand that some of you will be keen to undermine my authority here due to the fact that I can't speak many languages myself, but please respect the fact that I am the one who will be giving out prizes here and that I can make up the rules. If you can't respect that, you can go learn a language yourself. 4. All other PokeHeroes rules apply. Have fun! Here is how you can join my little "club": Step 1: Create a new account on Duolingo if you haven't already. Pick a language to learn. The languages offered for English speakers are Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Irish, Turkish, Russian, Danish, Norwegian, Esperanto, Ukrainian, Polish, and Welsh. In the near future, there will also be courses for Vietnamese, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Czech, and Romanian if you're interested in learning those. There are also upcoming courses for Swahili, Hindi, Klingon (yay), Korean, and Indonesian, but those won't be here for a while. Step 2: Join the classroom here. Step 3: Fill in this form and post it below: ![]() I want to learn a new language! Username: _______________ Native Language: ______________ Other Languages Currently Spoken: ____________ Language That I Want To Learn: _____________ Preferred Prize: _____________ Have you joined the classroom yet? Y/N Anything else? Step 4: Learn the language! I trust you to be honest with me and assume that you won't lie about your current ability to speak it. Besides, I'll be tracking your progress (occasionally), and if you seem to be moving unnaturally fast (or finish a course in 2 weeks or less), I won't give you as many prizes. Step 5: Occasionally, I will post an activity check, where I will ask you to fill me in on basically how your language has been going and how you're liking Duolingo. Format may differ from time to time, so see the individual posts for instructions on how to respond to these. Here are the prizes you can choose from: 2. Another shiny/special Pokemon - look through my boxes and see if there's anything you'd like there. Don't ask for anything that would be worth more than around 150-200k though, because I will not give that to you. This can also only be obtained after finishing or making good progress in a course. 3. 10-20 PD for each experience point you get in Duolingo. Shoot me a PalPad message or a PM every time you want to withdraw your "balance". I will send the money as soon as possible. However, if you practice the same basic skill over and over again to get large amounts of experience points quickly, I will stop awarding you with PD. 4. Nothing :). I'll just learn a language for the fun of it! Members of Our Duolingo Group: 1. Popplio - Norwegian - Doduo --- Semi-Active 2. Quinn - French - Doduo --- Semi-Active 3. DarkParkai - Spanish - Doduo --- Inactive 4. awesomegokul - German - Doduo --- Inactive 5. poland0202 - German - Doduo --- Semi-Active 6. Viki123 - Italian - Any --- Semi-Active 7. Aristocraft - French - Doduo --- Inactive 8. ImmatureGuy - French/German - Any --- Inactive 9. Litten - German - Doduo --- Inactive 10. Rogue_Of_Heart - Norwegian - Doduo --- Inactive 11. Skitty - Italian - Shiny --- Active So yeah, that's all I have to say here! I understand that many of you are probably interested in learning Japanese (being Pokemon fans), but unfortunately, that's not offered on Duolingo. Sorry about that :/... Also, you can offer to be a prize provider if you feel like it. It might take a while for me to obtain so many Doduos, so it would be useful if some people were to help me with my hunting. I can pay you for each Doduo you provide, or if you'd rather, you can provide them for free. You can apply using the form below: ![]() I want to hunt Doduo for you! Username: ______________ Price per Doduo: ____________ Will you also be learning a language? Y/N Anything else? Hunters: 1. Me (of course) 2. smerp (?) - 150k PD 3. zagisov - Free! I'd prefer to limit the size of this group to underneath 20 people, although a few more wouldn't hurt. However, I'm not really expecting that many more people to actually sign up, as I already have 12 members and my thread is beginning to lose attention. Happy language learning! [Read more] |

I'm interested in buying one of your shiny Regirocks, but I'm note sure that I have enough. I can offer any combination (possibly including everything) of the items below: -2 mega stones -1 weather balloon -my mega-able sir shelgon -my mega alakazam -1 marine cave map -1 new moon island map -I have enough game chips to pay for up to 37 drives (chill, burn, zap, or douse) if you need those -4 plates (dread, icicle, stone, and toxic) -a cold rock -a magma stone -4 fossils (claw, helix, jaw, old amber) -107 ground gems, 94 rock gems, and 65 ice gems -75k pokedollars If you really want them, I can also give away a shiny Sableye and/or Gurdurr. But I'd prefer not to give those two away. And finally, if you're interested, I can give you a shiny mega Sableye, a shiny Clefable, a mega gyarados, and/or 300 Gold Poke on Pokefarm Q. My account name there is "mewsarecool" if you need proof of their existence. And that's pretty much everything of value that I have in both games. Sorry if it's not enough :S. [Read more] |

Also, I told both of my brothers the answer in person (and they helped me with some of the mysteries too), so I was technically cheating. Either way, I didn't win the raffle (given my luck that was never gonna happen :/). But congratulations to those who did! I hope that, even though this time there were so many cheaters, something like this could be done again. Maybe you could make it so that every time the code word is posted it gets blanked out, but that would probably be difficult to code and I could see people spacing the characters out (like "n i g h t m a r e s") or intentionally misspelling it (like "nihgtmares") in order to spoil the answer (it's sad what some people can do to ruin a game for others...) Either way, this event was very enjoyable and if you're up to it, you should definitely do something like this again. And @Professor Juniper: You might want to get rid of that post. [Read more] |
