Ghembo Ghembo growled menacingly at Bane and took a step towards the wolf pack, now commanding the ivy to crawl towards them. "Out." He commanded threateningly. His tail lashed in anger at the wolf's obvious disobedience to his order. "May I remind you that you are in my territory and my lions are but a call away. Your... shield," he nodded his head at the wall of darkness, "will do nothing if you are asleep. Go home. I thank you for your translation and you will be rewarded, but if you go against my orders again... you will learn to watch your flea-bitten tail." Ghembo turned, making sure to keep an ear out in case Bane or his goon got any dumb ideas and dipped his head at the human. "Yes," he said tiredly, guessing that Bane wouldn't bother with translation, "we're done here." He nudged the human into the back of the cave, where it was less drafty. He called thorns and laced the ground between the wolves (and the knives) and them. To the human, he ordered, "Sleep." With his worries mostly take care of, he curled up, but kept his eyes open and glaring. [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo's eyebrows raised as the pile of knives grew larger and larger. She had an impressive amount of weapons on her, though he'd be even more amazed if she had claws. But of course, humans were fragile and even evolution had been outwitted by them. Ironically, their greatest achievements had made them weaker and weaker, more and more dependent on their silly little tools, and once they were separated from them, they were basically mice. As Bane's guard appeared and the question along with the translation, Ghembo almost rolled his eyes. Bane was careless with his powers and quick to aggression. When he pricked the human with the knife, he heaved to his feet with a cry of rage. His tail was an angry snake, lashing back and forth even more than it would with the human. Vines crept from the back of the cave and lashed the knife out of the air and coiled around his paws. He would not tolerate this. "Bane," he roared, unconsciously unsheathing his claws. "You will never do that again! As of now, this human is part of my PRIDE! You will NOT touch her again, no matter how much she provokes any of you! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" He narrowed his eyes at the alpha, making sure to keep his eyes on the alpha's nose. lest he feel temptation to take over his body. (Also, I'm assuming we're going with the notion that Bane has been translating this whole conversation. Yes? ^^) (@Scotland Ah, don't worry about it! This is purely for fun, so if you don't have time, I'm not going to pressure you at all. Ghembo Ghembo bit back a roar when she brought up her race supposedly saving his kind. Half the world didn't care what would happen and would send their beasts of iron and oil into their territory, killing lions and "taming" the land. The fact that she had even considered bringing it up, much less the fact that she did, was almost impossible to think about. He kept his head down and his voice in a cold, furious hiss. "As to your... comments, for as long as you stay here, you will have nothing but respect for lions and any other animal. You will never, never insult another one of my kind again. If you do, I will personally see to your execution. And I will be the judge." With that, he sat back on his haunches, considering the offer made by the human and seemingly uncaring at the hostility he spoke. "Most of your weapons will be kept in your cave. You may carry around your beast," he said, nodding at the rifle, "as long as no lion gets hurt. If you as much brush the hairs on a lion's coat with it," he chuckled, "you'll wish that you had been killed and eaten when I captured you. Otherwise, I see no apparent problem with your offer. But staying here means you have a choice. Either I can introduce you to the pride tomorrow and you will live among them, hunt with them, and treat them as your own, or you can stay locked up in here." He cocked his head to the right. "You said you worked for the ecosystem. You said you have nothing to live for. And trust me, even if you view me as nothing but a mindless brute, a mere obstacle in your path, I know how it feels to have everything of worth stripped from you. I know how it feels to have the Earth turn on you. It's been happening my whole life." He gazed at Bane listlessly. "And guess what? The whole reason that I'm one of the leaders of pride and have been since I was practically a cub is because of your species. I did nothing. Your cocky attitude that seems in abundance with your race is what got you in this mess. Your species is to blame for us. The Elementals are here because of you." (Have you ever roleplayed with someone and you sorta become your character? So say my character is angry at another, I sometimes get angry at the person playing the character! Thank goodness that hasn't happened yet!) [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo could sense the rage roiling off the human and felt it infect his own spirit. He lashed his tail and bared his teeth. He gave a powerful roar that rebounded in the cave, the sound blocked from the outside by the wall of darkness. This human... while he was attracted by her bold personality and bravery, she was just being difficult at this point. "Look," he snarled, shoving his face into hers and showing his glimmering fangs. "I don't understand you, you don't understand me, and if it weren't for," Ghembo paused, barely cutting off an insult, "...Bane, over here, you would be dead, you hear me? My pack would have devoured you whole and attack your settlements." He took a step forward, his muscles taut and his hackles raised with aggression. "As long as you stay here, you will be grateful that I didn't take your scrawny life when I had the chance." He snorted, backing away and took a sneering look at Brunhilde's twisted arm. "And before you decided to use that little knife of yours, be aware that if you kill me, which is highly doubtful, Bane will take your throat out. If you do so to Bane, I will do likewise." He gave a withering glance at the human. "Your species is pathetic, and you are doing nothing to improve its record. You are much less clever than you think." (Also, my other character is kinda sorta waiting for day, so if we could start bringing this scene to a close, that would be great! BUT, take all the time that you need!) That made no sense [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo flicked his tail at the human's response. This was getting tedious. The woman was stubborn, and brave. He didn't know which one he was more annoyed at. Ghembo, for the first time, got a good look at the woman. She seemed lean, just as an underfed cub, but muscled. She was small, even for a human, but seemed as if she could withstand a hurricane. Her skin was oddly pale, as if she spent time underground. A bruise splotched one of her eyes. She seemed like a fighter. Ghembo held his head down, a sign of respect and reverence in his pride. "Look," Ghembo said weakly. "I don't want to hurt you, I really don't... but..." He sat on his haunches, gazing out of the cave mouth. "My pride comes first." He said firmly, almost sternly. "My pride will always come first. I do not believe you, even as you say you will not reveal our location." He shook his head helplessly. "I don't know what to do. You could... no." Sighing, he turned back to face the human. "I don't know what we could do. Human, you were brought here to be eaten by my pride; we were hunting you. Our lionesses would eat your flesh to produce their milk and the cubs would lap up your marrow. You can try... no." [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo's ears swiveled back when he heard the question. "Go home?" He roared with laughter. "She's got to be kidding, right?" He glanced at Bane, mane flushed out with amusement. He turned back to the human, uncaring that she couldn't understand what he said. "Look, you will not be going home for a long time. Unfortunately for you, you have seen the pride, and you did not know this before. I can't have humans rising up against us. We may let you go home earlier, maybe with an elemental lion to watch you and make sure that what you say is not of our lands. That would mean giving up a Light and a Dark." He snapped his head back to Bane. "Convey this to h- it." Somewhere inside him, something pinged with the bluntness of his speech. Somewhere inside him, a weakness, a fondness, took shape. Ghembo Tail flicking excitedly, Ghembo smiled at Bane. "I can answer this one, but I may need you to ask her a question." He strode forward and dipped his head, a sign of, yes he did understand her. "Ask her what she was doing so close to Pride territory." He murmured under his breath, fixated with the frail human. [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo blanked in surprise, first at Bane's easy acceptance and then at the fact that he already knew how to do the trick. He glanced at the human before whispering his message to Bane. "I am Ghembo, one of the three alphas of my pride. This is Bane he is a friend, the alpha of a neighboring wolf pack." He paused and stared at Bane with suspicion and fury. "I swear, Bane, if you muck up this message at all, I will rip your eyeballs out and shove them down your throat so you can see me as I tear your throat open." And he meant every word of his threat." Ghembo Ghembo threw a careless glance at Bane and then stared pointedly at the human. Padding softly over to the Night wolf, he licked the ear, half to greet him, half to assure the human that Bane was a friend. "Alpha Bane, this is a human I have captured. Um, I'm trying to communicate with it." He flickered his eyes to the golden lion again. He truly had forgotten about the signal to call him, and was just trying to talk to the human. But as long as Bane was here... "Can I ask you a huge favor? You'll learn a skill from it." [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo sighed as a squeak escaped the human. Many squeaks. What was it saying? He reached out with his magic. He had heard a rumor from somewhere that Light and Dark creatures could make their thoughts known in human's minds. The first generation thought themselves too high and mighty to peek into human's thoughts. They didn't teach their off springs, so they weren't even aware of such a power. Ghembo suddenly wished that interbreeding wasn't frowned upon. A Light or Dark creature would be supremely helpful right about now, assuming that the rumor was truthful. Ghembo shook his head. He refused to give up. He reached for his magic, finding it easy to grasp. He called forth flowers from all corners of the globe and made an image of a lion. It reminded him of the black and white images of the humans of the east. It was of a shimmering lion. "Lion," he said. "LION!" He roared, enunciating each syllable clearly. [Read more] |

Dusk shrugged and snorted. "All right, then. What should I call you?" "I don't really care." The Charizard waved its claws dismissively, and nearly got Dusk to believe that it didn't really care. But then he caught the flash of sadness... and anger? "Just... how about I call you..." CHOICE A. "I'll call you... *Write in your own*" [/center] [Read more] |

Ghembo Ghembo spared only a glance at the hand. Even if she hadn't removed her weapon, she never would have been able to defeat him*. He cricked his neck and puffed his mane out. "Human." He spoke in slow, calm words. "I am... Ghembo." He knew it was futile, that the human would never understand him. But he couldn't help but hope. "Can you... understand me?" *Just to be clear, this is just Ghembo's pride speaking >.< [Read more] |

Sheera She felt the tension leave Ariana's body all at once. She had a small smile pasted on to her face and sighed a deep breath. This was even more peaceful than when Ariana had dragged her up here. She turned to Ariana, looking her in the eyes without fear now, "May I tell you a secret?" She didn't wait for a response. "I've never been romantically interested in any lion, or any creature, for that matter. Except for now." [Read more] |

Sheera Sheera chuckled. "You could say that." Silence enveloped her mind and she lay her head on her paws, thinking. This creature wasn't like others she had met. Especially dark Elementals. Those were the ones that tended to use their powers to take advantage of other animals. They almost always clawed their ways up through their group's ranks and became a powerful and greedy tyrant. Maybe being away from pack grouping and ranking had stripped that away from such a creature. More than anything, Sheera recognized something within her. Something that she had always seen within herself. Difference. This was not your typical, everyday dark Elemental. So far, Ariana seemed almost... kind. Just so, Sheera wasn't your everyday lioness. She generally disliked being around others of her species, while the others seemed to luxuriate in the presence. The most predominant of the few qualities that she possessed that other lions had seemed to be her sense of pride. Sheera slowly got up to her paws, nearly moaning at the ache in her muscles from the day's run and padded beside Ariana. She sat close enough so that their fur was intermingled and joined the snow leopard at looking up to the stars. [Read more] |

Sheera Sheera laughed, truly and honestly. It wasn't sarcastic or mean, but deep-throated and surprisingly rough and ragged. "What a brain! You must have been your pride's healer or something." She paused and the gleeful sense faded in the air. Her claws flexed in and out of her paws, chipping the edge of the stone. "And to answer your question, yes I have been raised with that philosophy. You'd be surprised to learn how many other packs, clans, prides, and groups of creatures follow the same regulations." She sighed, then a thought occurred to her, which made her sit bolt upright. This leopard... this stranger... where was she from? Talking about females as if they could be the equals to males... that was not the ways of the Elementals she had met. Her guard flared up once more, a silent and stoic wall between the two. She once again was careful to avert her eyes from Ariana's gaze. "Who are you?" The air practically sparked with tension. "None of the Elementals that I have known follow the same rules." Her voice grew choked and strained. "Not even my pride leader. And he is the most honorable of our three alphas. Where are you from and what pack do you belong to?" [Read more] |

Sheera An eyebrow shot up. A sharp laugh escaped her. "Me? Attractive? Sorry, but I cannot be attractive, by just my appearance and the hierarchy of pride." She turned away, her ears swishing back and forth, signifying her great discomfort. "Only alpha males can be 'attractive'. I'm just a huntress." Her eyes flitted over the darkness of night, the stars caught like fireflies in the dark blanket of the sky. "I'm just a female." [Read more] |
