Well, you said having this function would not help users being scammed. I simply stated what Aragon meant by scamming.

That's true, but until Riako says something then people supporting and/or disagreeing with the idea still holds merit. Even if he did intend for the GTS to be similar to the Pokemon games, you never know if seeing the amount of support for the idea will change his mind.

I've never heard of scamming being used in this sense. I would consider that being 'ripped off.' Aragon intended for this suggestion to help users being scammed out of PD/nuggets, not being ripped off.

And no, the support/disapproval is not useless. Why do you think the Suggestions forum exists in the first place? It's to gauge the user base's interest in ideas.

This suggestion is both educational AND practical. There's no way around saying it absolutely needs to be implemented other than referring back to Rule 3.3 and pointing fingers at the victim.
Of course scammers will always be around. We can help reduce the risk of them scamming by improving trading options though. If it by chance does get implemented, 3.3 could be changed to something along the lines of "Always make sure you use the GTS to safely trade your Pokemon, items, PD, and nuggets. We cannot guarantee your safety if you use another means of trading nor can we guarantee being able to help you retrieve what was stolen. NEVER use the Gift option to trade! It is for GIFTING only."

As I've already said before, even large sites like Neopets have scamming prevention. They have to deal with well over a million users which far exceeds that of PH, but yet they still respond to and help users who have been scammed/hacked (i.e. reversing transactions and trades). It makes me really sad that just because a user chose to trust someone they have to deal with the consequences. How is that fair? Even real life doesn't work like that. If you have an agreement written in word then both parties are held accountable for completing their end of the deal. If one party doesn't complete their end they can be taken to court and sued.

Part of being a moderator is listening to the user base--if the rule is in place just to protect them from being annoyed, then 'moderator' might not be the proper term... All it takes is a response asking for proof: Can't provide proof of being scammed? "Sorry, we can't help."

The Trusted Trading Thread is proof in itself that scammers abound here. We wouldn't NEED the TTT if there were improved trading alternatives.

Every new generation a child is chosen to represent one of the twelve spirits of the Chinese Zodiac. While considered a blessing, many of them suffer dark secrets... The darkest of which is a curse that plagues the Zodiac—Unable to experience physical contact with the opposite gender without transforming into their respective Pokemon, they and their predecessors live life tormented by a sense of loneliness and self-deprecation. This is especially true for the Cat (who is not considered an official member of the Zodiac).

In order to free themselves from the curse they must learn to love and accept themselves for who they are. Can they see past their own imperfections and let go of the chains that bind them, or will they doom themselves to a never-ending cycle of pain and anguish?

I don't usually like posting my opinion because I'm a very passive person, but... I've honestly never encountered a rule like 3.3 on any other site but here. Maybe it's because I don't get around much? Regardless, there are quite a few users on here who are very young and do not yet understand that people are out there who are willing to take advantage of them.

I don't agree that they or anyone else should have to learn responsibility the hard way; they should be able to rely on a system that prevents scamming altogether, or at least reduce the chance of it happening. I'm really confused as to why people would choose not to support this idea because of a rule that personally makes no sense to me. Even large sites like Neopets have scamming prevention.
