	I won 17 matches in a row on Splat Zones and then went from B+ 70 all the way down to 2 whenever it changed to Rainmaker. Granted, Rainmaker is a great game mode... Another interesting idea is that celebs (i.e. gym leaders/Elite Four) would randomize depending on the weather.

Rainy = Water-type
Sunny = Grass-type
Clear = Normal-type
etc etc

Having them give you quests to complete like the Beauty Contest would be a fun way to encourage more activity around the site. Besides the standard interacting with a user's Pokemon or playing X in the Game Center, they might also ask you to buy cheap items like evolution stones, berries, honey, and such. If it can't be found in stores, you would have to ask players to sell/trade. Also good for encouraging users to socialize.

I'm not too sure on what consolation prizes there could be. Small amounts of PD/gems? Event plushies (specially made for the autographs and a rare chance at receiving it)?

Edit: As an afterthought, it would be neat if hard-to-acquire autographs required you to show them a certain Pokemon by having it in your party. For example, Steven could require you to show him a shiny Metagross or Dianthe could require you to show her a mega-able OR mega-evolved Gardevoir. I think this would go fairly well with PH's breeding/shiny hunting objective. If you're looking to collect a certain autograph and know the requirements for it, all that's left is to A. Breed B. Buy/Trade or C. Borrow, and I feel like a lot of users may go the breeding route. ^^ It earns them a shiny/mega-able with their own hard work AND gets them a cool signature... They'll just need to wait until that celeb shows up. :P

I like this idea but only insofar as collecting autographs. It could be just a fun little activity to do like collecting puzzle pieces.

Instead of battling, it would be completely randomized visits from a different Gym Leader/Elite Four for each user (or in some cases, there would be no one there at all). Some of the dialogue could include:
"Oh! Fancy meeting you here!"
"Nice day out for a stroll through Emerawood, wouldn't you say?"

You would be given an option to ask for an autograph or to say "Have a nice day!" Opting out is for users who already randomized that particular Gym Leader/Elite Four; OR they could ask for another autograph. This gives users a chance to collect autographs from their favorite Gym Leader(s)/Elite Four members like some users collect multiples of their favorite plushies.

This would make the activity something that users could check on everyday and enough of a challenge for those seeking to collect all autographs.
