Ayukka approached her son, ruffling his hair. “Sorry I was out all night, Genma. I had work way into the night and it sucked. I’m proud of you; you’re gonna be a great hero, Tiny.” She smiled brightly at him, though her voice was a bit distorted by the microphone built into her headgear.

Remus hugged his student, wanting to help him feel safe.

There was a sudden explosion not far from them, and a loud laugh as a female hero blasted her way into the group. She landed on her feet, dressed in her hero gear, with her black curls wild around her face. Remus turned, surprised, but laughed. “I thought you weren’t coming, Ayukka!” He chided. She simply stuck her tongue out at him, her stubborn nature evident from just seeing her in action.

When Remus looked up, he noticed Brennus’ seat was empty and he frowned. Had the boy slipped out while he was busy?

Meanwhile Brennus was on his way off campus, his wings carrying him quickly away from the place. He had grown bored of this soft teacher, after all. Weakness practically dripped off the yellow-eyed man and he scoffed. He’d handle it if he got in trouble for sneaking out. Can’t keep a strong bird caged, after all.
