Transfer your favorite adoptable to an Android device


Introduction
Our first mobile application has been uploaded to Google Play!
This small application allows you to send a Pokémon to your Android Smartphone and then take a relaxing walk with it. The HeroWalker counts your real steps in the StandBy mode and converts them into experience for your Pokémon and also into Watts (20 Steps = 1 Watt). Similar to the PokéWalker.

Item Radar / Tall Grass
You can use your Watts to charge your Item Radar. A luck-based mini game offers you the possibility to find rare items, such as mystery boxes or gems.
Or may also want to use your Watts to catch wild Pokémon in the Tall Grass. Six different Pokémon are available so far - more to be added.

Experimental feature
Please note that this is obviously not a complete mobile version for PokéHeroes - it's just an addition with whole new features.
Developing applications for android devices is much more complicated than coding new features for PokeHeroes (at least for me), so I'm still trying to improve and to try out the basics. The application is really just a small experiment to test if everything works well on different devices and to see if you are actually interested in further mobile developments.
Also if you like the idea, then I'll surely continue working on the HeroWalker and add more features (such as different Routes, more Pokemon/Items, Statistics etc.)

What about iOS/Windows Phones?
I'm sorry, but iOS and Windows use a completely different coding language, which I never learned before. I might be able to code apps for these operating systems in the future, though it's very unlikely that PokéHeroes Mobile apps will be available for iOS/Windows in 2014/2015. It took me over 2 years now to get used to Android coding.
So you better exchange your expensive apples for some nice androids, kids.


Bad News: It's not for free
Uploading an application to Google Play requires a developer license, which I had to buy. I hope you understand that therefore downloading the application isn't free, too - though I think ~ 1.7$ isn't really much :) It's a one-time cost and you receive all upcoming updates for free.

Bugs?
I was testing this application on my Samsung Galaxy S3 - and it was working very well; I didn't encounter any bugs/freezes. Though it may be different for other devices.
However it's very important to stay calm if something isn't working for you. We're not scamming you, and I'll obviously try to fix every bug as soon as possible.

Recommendation
The pedometer starts counting after you started the app. It doesn't matter whether you switch to another application then or if you activate the standby mode - the herowalker keeps running until you force it to close.
Even though that it basically never stops counting, I'd recommend you to start the HeroWalker at least once a day, or at least before you take a walk with it. Just to make sure that the pedometer is counting your steps.
