There was a scientist who seemed to be in charge. "We will separate you into three groups, those of you who can fly, those of you who can shapeshift or stuff like that, and the ones who can do neither. you will then be trained accordingly"

(well, actually its zorua, zoroark, mew, ditto, and the legendary pokemon, cuz they can cast illusions, cuz they're like gods)
Sandevi stood by Kale in the flying group
Each group went to a different corner of the geosphere to focus on each person's abilities
(also several other psychic and ghost type pokemon)
The flight instructor was very straightforward and explanatory, and it was easy getting a hand on flight. Sandevi found out that she didnt actually need to flap her wings in order to fly

Kale was a natural when it came to flight and was already able to fly fast and make quick turns at the high speeds.

The illusion/shapeshift instructor seemed to enjoy justifying and explaining things.
"All you really need to do," he said "is imagine yourself how you would want to look for illusions. shapeshifting's a bit harder than that. It involves actually FEELING that you are what you want to be, or FEELING the actual transition between the two forms"
