Royal Academy: Mages And Knights
Forum-Index → Roleplay → Royal Academy: Mages And Knights"I'm sorry to disappoint on that front but if you have any I could meet, I'd be up for that as well." He turns his head watching another student introduce themselves at the front of the class before turning back to Juzi.
Despite their conversation, he was definitely still trying to put names to faces the best he could as long as students were willing to put themselves up there. It'd likely make a better impression to have already remembered someone's name.
Seeing the beasts, Samton stretched his hand. Domes of earth covered each of them, restricting their movement but not hurting them.
He turned to Thalia.
"These seem to be yours, Miss Feyrer."
The voice resounded loudly to Thalia, but the others heard nothing.
Samton bowed slightly, and whispered. "Pray they never do so. For sake not ours but your own."
Smiling at Thalia, he returned to his seat. What nobody else noticed, however, was the intense bloodlust his eyes housed.
Tien was looking at Talia. His face was neutral but his eyes were pitying her.
"The little wolf of Feyrer has no clue what she would be facing. This development is, interesting. I was right to let her get accepted. She desires to be controlled by power with pride. She embraces it. Poor child has no idea what she has gotten herself into."
"Well, what else shall be expected, given her broken of a head?" Tien paused for a moment. "I still feel a little bad for her, though."
"Darkness is to be used and thrown. Father removed the opposition, the means to which are unimportant.
"Who knows? Perhaps I just might do the same."
"No you won't."
"You're probably right. We don't want another one of these to deal with, now do we."
Running through the woods was a young girl, chased by her parents, who were screaming hurtful words like brat , miserable idiot and such. The girl had fresh wounds all over her body, some pouring out blood. After being chased deep into the woods, her parents disappeared, leaving her to die. Their last words to her were: “you’re such a burden” The last thing the girl saw before blacking out was a patch of darkness and blood and something grotesque lunging towards her, and this searing pain. When she woke up, she found herself more...different. The previously light elemental girl was now changed, corrupted. Her name...was Thalia Feyrer, now changed and corrupted by her past
Lunch passed by quietly, with students being served meals at the cafeteria. There seemed to be three choices for lunch-sets, unlike the buffet they were served in the morning and the day before.
"I hope you are all ready! Since morning was cut short, we will be testing your individual skills today." Prof Angler, who had just arrived at the Mage's Field announced. Saying this, he closed his eyes, and with utmost concentration, motioned as if he was lifting something. The next moment, popping out of the ground were golems the shape of wolves. "One for each of you. Good luck!"
A little farther away, in the Knight's Field, Sir Fisch was fighting 3 students at once. It was clear who were losing, and it was not Sir Fisch.
However, despite this, he didn't seem entirely impressed at the view in front of him either. 3 of the students from his class were in the midst of battle with their teacher Sir Fisch. Unsurprisingly, most of the students here were just that, students. Some knew a bit more of the basics than others and he doubted this were the first time they'd held a blade if a knight's pursuit was their chosen profession but standing off against the teacher, it seemed hopeless.
The boy currently sat on the ground, his longsword lain in front of him as he worked to properly clean it. While he had wiped the blood of the beast he'd culled this morning, some of the ichor hadn't completely come off. It was a job that was quickly taken care of but afterwards he held his left fist to his cheek in bored observation.
"I know we're not experts in this sort of thing but if they don't start paying attention to each other and not just their target, he's probably going to end up using their movements against them... Numbers won't work if the group has no coordination." The words were vocalized loud enough for anyone nearby to hear him and he definitely hadn't bothered to pull away from the main group so there should be plenty of ears nearby to have heard it. Probably not the teacher but definitely the students around the speaker's general vicinity.
"I'm conflicted. Group fighting does lend confidence but it can also lead to self sabotage when a non-coordinated group starts fighting each other because of the target's movements. It makes me wonder why they're running it this way."
Kynik looks up and back at wherever Tien has positioned himself. Ahah, that was the voice. "I guess part of it's pride. I can't show my full potential when the nurse said not to reopen the wound. Or I could do it anyways." He snickers giving a cheeky grin and looks back to the broadsword he'd brought with him, tilting it for the shine. "I suppose I'm just trying to talk myself into picking a choice. Tien was it?"
She looked over at where Cherali was sitting. She got up and walked over. "Hi Cherali. It's nice to see you again." She sat down and started drawing a dragon without thinking about it.
After a while, the students banished all their golem except a few. One golem had the name 'Cherali' etched onto it and another had the name of her new friend, Luna.
"I'm pretty sure those are ours..." She said, getting up from her seat and facing the golem. It's reddish eyes stared at Cherali as she kneeled to the muddy ground and wrote on the floor a symbol of a burning flower; "Brennen" She murmured to the drawing. She backed away.. Nothing happened, but after a few seconds, the golem charged at Cherali, but did not collide with her. Instead, the golem was beginning to burn by a burst of fire from the symbol she had drew.
The golem had not given up yet, it backed away and decided to charge again after the fire cleared. The rahing golem stormed after Cherali but the young mage hastily evaded the attack and whispered to herself a chant, "Charings der Verhexung". The golem, after noticing Cherali's chant, decided to not rush at her this time but simply to trot over to her. Cherali kept her distance, until she ran forward to the golem and ended the rush with a kick at the wolf's skull. Although it did hurt Cherali's foot, the curse she chanted was successful. The beast churred into flames yet again, but after the flames were depleted, the beast was fully killed. Cherali smiled, victorious. She limped back to her seat, "Your turn." She said to Luna, a smile wept onto her face.

The golem was not particularly strong, Samton noticed. He stood still, waiting for his golem to make the first move. After circling Samton a few times, getting closer and closer, the golem suddenly jumped at Samton from behind.
The sound of air being cut was the last thing the golem heard. The golem fell to the ground, cleanly cut in two from top to bottom by a fell swoop. Following the thud came a splash, as the water which had served as Samton's blade fell to the ground, being of no more use to it's conjurer.
The browned haired man lifts a hand to point at one of the fighting students. "That looks like a longsword. They seem to be using speed tactics but their body movements suggest they should focus more on heavy hitting." His eyes were focused as he said this but the hand moved slightly to the side at a second student. "Another longsword opting for a wide swing but their wrist movements suggest they have the flexibility and accuracy to be a good technique fighter. They could still use their current methods just fine but they might not realize the lean."
The hand moves to his chin, pinching it slightly. "If they were working together they might be more effective but right now it's all random. Fisch's movements though are trained, flexible. Look at his feet, he seems to be prone to a certain pattern. When he gets hit a certain way, it breaks the pattern for just a split moment. It might be best for them to have someone focusing on breaking that pattern and the other two alternating on keeping that pattern broken for a much better chance. He's swift at recovery but if this were a random encounter with him as an enemy, a 3 man formation applying that to him might be enough to at least shoo him away even if the level of skill wasn't enough to defeat him."
He seemed to be more or less thinking out loud but it was still information he was willing to share with his speaking companions.
Tien's gaze was fixed on Sir Fisch's movements. He wore a small smile. "At each step, when the pattern might break, he uses a heavy thrust to push the opponent away. Unless the opponent wants to get their heart decorating the sword, it'd be better to just hop back. Although he won't go as far today, I believe.
"Either way, he is rather energy-inefficient when fighting alone. Which is why it should be possible for us to wear him down."
Tien turned to the two and smiled. "Provided you have a light mage to replenish your strength, a water mage to replenish your health, and a dark mage to replenish their mana, of course. And a LOT of time."
"I admit, I had plenty of time to observe the knights at home when I wasn't practicing. So I've had my basic training but I've also acted as an observer. Father says getting to know how a person moves will help in knowing where to place them later. There are 4 types of fighters when it comes to the blade. Their style of fighting is secondary and should be tailored to their type. Two different types might learn the same fighting style but their typing may influence *how* they use it."
A finger is held up where the other two could see it. "The first is the Speed type. Dextrous fighters who don't hit hard but have more opportunities to do so. They take advantage of openings that open up naturally."
The second is Strength. These are your heavy hitters but they tend to have a slower swing. A second finger had popped up but after this it was joined by a third. "Your Endurance types will focus on dodging and wearing down the opponent. They might not swing as often but it's about using your opponents movements against them."
A fourth finger, and thus last one, was held up. And then there's the Technique types. Flexible movements to confuse their opponent and take advantage of the openings they create. The longer a battle goes on the more you learn about their fighting style but their type can be discerned in the first couple movements. It really just gives you an idea what to look for."
"Sir Fisch seems like a Strength Type but while it's inefficient, the fighting style makes up for the lag so it suits him. Strength types focus on getting the job done early in battle before their stamina runs out."
