Eclipse sat in her seat and started to listen to the teacher, but
when the teacher said "parents" she got lost in thought about her
past and touch her blindfold, she remembers trying to be sad but it
was no use she has alexithymia ever since her parents were killed.
She shook her head to break the chain of thoughts, to pay attention
to the teacher.
Sitting beside Juzi, a boy was paying strict attention to the
teacher. She didn't understand why, for she knew the rules and was
already a great student. She studied his some more, and saw that he
had chocolate brown hair and hazel-ish green eyes. She watched him
jot down notes for a few more minutes then turned back to her own
seat, watching the teacher write on the board, her hair swaying
beside the open window. 'Maybe he'll be willing to become my first
friend..' She thought, writing down notes of her own.

As Prof. Carr left, he called Samton apart. Samton nodded as he
heard the professor's instructions. Walking up front, he cleared
his throat and tapped the cylinder in front of him. A wind magic
stone which is meant to amplify sound gave it an effect similar to
a microphone, what ever that was.
"Hello everyone! Prof. Carr wishes that we introduce ourselves. My
name is Samton Goldenbach. Pleased to make your acquaintance. I am
a mage focusing on the Light, Earth and Water elements. I hope to
get along with all of you."
With this, Samton gave a little bow and returned to his seat.
Tien followed suit. "Glad to meet you all! I am Tien Sebas, a
knight majoring the art of swords. I hope the years to follow will
be enjoyable."
As the students were working to talk amongst themselves and subtle
individual introductions were made, Kynik's attention turned back
towards the front of the class, a student having taken the stage
with the speech amplifying magical device.
The boy had introduced himself as Sampton and a fellow student
followed after. Oh is that what they wanted us to do? It sure seemed like
it. It was forward but made much more sense than the trickling of
words. Kynik placed both hands on the ledge in front of him, most
weight supported by his left as he lifted himself out of his chair
after Tien had left the podium.
Why not? The best way to make connections is to put your name out
there afterall and what better way to do that then something like
this. The student walked his way to the front with a confident
gait, taking a few moments to check out the small cylinder. It was
definitely powered by magic though he wouldn't tell what exactly
that was. He too, would tap the device hoping it didn't need
anything to activate it and gave a wide wave to the audience of
students before him.
"Salutations! I am named Kynik Kuffer, you all may call me Kynik. I
am not gifted in the way of Arcana so I come here as learner of the
sword and plan to become the strongest knight that I can. I extend
my hand to my new acquaintances, if you have anything to ask of me,
just ask. I am not afraid to offer help to those who need it. May
our time here be one filled with companionship, fulfillment and
achievements worthy of the word pride."
The 18 year old gazes into the audience, studying the reactions of
his peers before pulling away with a grin. He'll make his way to
his seat so the next student could take his place.
Luna shuffled up and said, "Erm, I'm Luna. Uhh, I, uh..." She
trailed off. When she heard snickers from the crowd, her face got
hot and she ran back to her seat, feeling everyone staring at her.
I have no friends due to the massive hole in my heart. Would you
consider being the one to plug up the hole of feeling?
"Juzi Blackwood, pleased to make your acquaintance." She said, her
eyes boring into the others' around her. She walked back to her
seat and sat, waiting for the next person to go.
Elliot stood up after her, "Uhh- Hi! I'm Elliot, Elliot Langston.
Hope we can be friends someday. Ask my anything you need, I'll
always be here to help" He said, smiling and running back to his
seat.

Riley saw multiple people introduce themselves which was helpful
since now she might know more peoples names and thought she should
do the same. “Hello, I’m Riley Lynch and if you need help with
anything, I will always try to help you but there is no guarantee
that I will be able too, sorry.” She went back to her seat slightly
embarrassed but didn’t show it and just watched the rest of the
people go.
The next person was sitting next to her, he got up and introduced
himself as Haddan Freds. After he was finished, he tapped Cherali
on the shoulder to go next. The young mage flinched, but afterward
grabbed her book, got up, and walked to the front.
She curtsied in her shimmering amber robes and spoke into the
magical instrument, "Hi... my name is Cherali ... Cherali Keyland."
It was more drawn out and exhausting to present her name than it
was to say in her head and by herself.
Having actual people as your audience is not one of Cherali wishes;
Maybe introducing herself was for the better, as Professor Carr
mentioned, he wished for her peers to be known amongst the
group.
Why do so many people join the Royal Academy? The Academy is
intended to train students so that they would be able to become
high ranking officials within the army. Nobility join due to their
obligation to the people, as well as a chance to get a better
pedigree. Royalty who do not become kings become nobility as soon
as their sibling takes over. The common populace, however, join
because of something else.
A chance to become nobility.
The Mages and Knights higher than the rank of "Captain" are granted
a barony, making them nobles.
It is perhaps also due to this possibility, that the Academy is
able to maintain it's policy of non-discrimination.
Due to this, the Royal Academy is, sometimes, considered to be a
miniature of the "World of Nobility". While some choose to ignore
it, factions and the like very much exist. The self-introduction
is, in essence, the first event where scouting occurs.
Not long after his go it seemed the girl who'd taken the seat next
to him made her way up to the front. As Juzi made her way back,
Kynik stands up and offers her a hand to shake, his face beaming.
"You did well up there. Public speaking always sucks as it means to
put ones self in front of many judging eyes."
He shakes his head slightly in remembrance of all the times he
father had made him 'practice' with a live audience of the knights
at home. He'd been punished if he'd spoken informally or
incorrectly. His expression had changed slightly but faded back to
his normal one when he went back to focusing on the girl instead of
being distracted by thought.
If the hand wasn't shaken he would withdraw it. The boy paused
watching another speaker present themselves at the front, head
turning towards them. When the student had finished speaking he
turned attention back to Juzi. "I hope you don't mind me speaking
to you. I wished to greet you personally since we were already
sitting nearby. "
"It's quite alright," She said, shaking
his hand. "The people back at my place never really taught me what
embarrassment was."
She studied him some more, "Kynik, was it?"
Elliot sat back down, sighing. 'That
wasn't really a good first impression...' He thought, watching as
the others went ahead, introducing themselves.
The introductions seemed to take forever, so Elliot took out his
sketchbook and began to draw the people around him.

After a few minutes of waiting, Cherali got tired of staring at
this Mrs. Spellbook and decided to make company to someone. It was
a fairytale to Cherali, never has she before met with people that
seemed ... nice. She used to fight alleyway gangsters and poverty
and yet everyone at this school seems to be perfect and rich and
have amazing icons. Here she is, a practical murderer of her
parents, among people who's parents rule the word 'wealth'.
Even if she was jealous of the people around her, she decided to
stir away from that insecurity and start speaking with others.
There was one girl that took her interest, the girl that introduced
herself as Luna. This Luna didn't give a last name, which was smart
in Cherali's opinion, as a person would track your family down and
use the lore they found to their advantage. She also seemed shy,
something the two made in common. After thinking about it, the mage
got up from her seat, and approached Luna:
"Hi there, I see you are all alone and decided to talk to you. My
name is Cherali; Came here to study Fire magic and ... be a mage, I
guess?" Cherali stated.
Then brown haired boy chuckled at her remark about embarrassment.
"Ah, with that one I have definitely had my fair share. But the
important thing is to understand that it's only in the moment.
Nobody is perfect after all. But many will strive for it."
He watched as she studied him, maybe to put a visual memory to the
name she had asked to confirm. That was his guess. Hearing the
question he nodded. "Yeah, I'm Kynik. I believe you said you were
Juzi?" He answered seeming to play with the mouthfeel of the word.
"It's a pretty name, I like how the Zi sound buzzes off the teeth.
I'll be sure to remember it in the future."
Luna looked around to see if Cherali was talking to anyone else.
"Yeah, I came to study self magic and water magic. I guess you're
wondering why I didn't provide a last name. It's because I don't
have one. Nothing is known about my parents." There was a few
seconds of silence and Luna said," I hope I get to see you again,
you're pretty nice."
I have no friends due to the massive hole in my heart. Would you
consider being the one to plug up the hole of feeling?
Eclipse skipped her own introduction, she never had any friends
except Gekko and Hakari, making friends was never her thing, but
for Gekko and Hakari, that's a different thing, they have been with
her when she was born. "Gekko and Hakari both have lost their
parents when they where little, I never asked how they deal with
it...." She thought deeply and then suddenly remember that she
was still in class, "I will think about it later".
"Well, we're both mages, so we'll have the same classes," Cherali
was surprised by Luna's response, she had no parents? That's a
relatable phrase. "I don't have parents either, if that makes you
feel better." Cherali sighed, "Though I know their names and have
something of their's, I still don't know them that good," The young
mage held the spell book for Luna to see.
"I don't know." Luna said. "I didn't really get the chance to
figure that out. I have to earn my own stuff. I have dyslexia, so
reading is probably not something I like." Luna looked down at her
feet. "And, I have a curse." The look on Luna's face said that she
wanted some alone time to think.
I have no friends due to the massive hole in my heart. Would you
consider being the one to plug up the hole of feeling?
"Ah" Cherali knew basic hexes and curses, thanks to her spell book,
but she didn't know that curses could persist inside a person. The
young mage never read about curses, so she couldn't possibly know
about Luna's pain and agony.
"Sorry, I hope we get to see each other again." She said, a neutral
expression plaguing her face.
Cherali turned around to her seat and went over to take it. She sat
down and decided to read her spell book a bit more.
She smiled, "I like the name Kynik too,
it unique and reminds me of power and freedom." She stated, looking
at him. "Do you have any pets or animal acquaintances? I would love
to meet them."
Elliot picked a boy next to him and
began to sketch him, beginning on the head and hair, sketching out
every detail and paying attention to the strands of hair falling to
the side of his face as he read a book.
