"Long ago, when Arceus first created the world of Pokemon, it sent Dialga into the future, wishing to learn of any threats to its new world. Dialga returned with the news that there would come a time where a human would rise with many followers, masquerading as a champion of the people and producing wondrous, Pokemon-inspired technology. This human, however, will capture innocent Pokemon and cruelly experiment on them to acquire the knowledge for their machinery.
Arceus decided to separate a fraction of its powers from itself to entrust to reliable, trustworthy trainers preselected with the aide of Dialga and Palkia, one to protect each specific type of Pokemon. It locked the powers away on Spear Pillar in crystals that can only be claimed by their respective humans. You are those humans. Arceus has put its trust in you. That time is now."

Type Protectors
You have just been teleported to a location just outside Snowpoint City in the Sinnoh region. The mythical Pokemon Mew appeared in your midst and has spoken these words to you, then teleported away once more. How will you react? Will you do as Arceus has decreed? Who will step forward to lead the group?

Shroud Corporation
Through one of your company's various security cameras all over the world, you have observed a group of humans of varying ages suddenly appear just outside of Snowpoint City and seemingly converse with the mythical Pokemon Mew. Seeing this, your venerable leader and boss, Shroud, has sent out a task force to investigate and perhaps bring some of these people back for... questioning.

Alex was still a little dazed from being randomly teleported.

Honey was shivering, being in a t-shirt and shorts.

Shocked, Lace blinked and shook her head a little. She glanced around at her surroundings, surprised to see snow covering the entire area. Hailing from Hoenn, she wasn't used to such cold weather, and crossed her arms in an attempt to warm herself. Taking in the others who had appeared there alongside her, she perceived that most of them seemed to be in their early to late teens, with the exception of perhaps two or three. Being the first to speak up, she awkwardly called, "Well... hi."

Cold. That was all that Xaiver felt. He swore he heard a crackle of ice on his eyelids as he blinked his eyes open. The air was filled with blinding white. Falling, and falling again. Calming the storm in his head, Xavier realized that it was snow. When something wet trickled down his jacket and onto his leg, he managed to pull his hand out. Blood. Xavier had been clenching his fists, his nails digging into his palms so hard that they drew blood. He swiped his hand against a snowdrift, biting his already numb lip to keep from hissing in pain from the cold. Why hadn't he come prepared? He was always prepared. No matter. He struggled to his feet. It was almost as if there was a broken record in his head, replaying Mew's words. Over, and over again. He planted his feet in the ground to keep from falling over. It wasn't everyday one teleported, he thought bitterly. Reaching into his other pocket, his frozen fingers traced the outline of the button that would call out his faithful friends. But while Xaiver may have been prideful, he wasn't selfish. He tried to speak around his numb lips, feeling a weight on his mouth. "Am I alone?" he said, speaking in an even tone despite the quiet whispers of wind.

"h-hi" Honey spoke with a shiver. She came from unova, she wasn't so surprised to see snow.

Alex let out his bouffant which he climbed into the hair of. "hi, uhh, where are we?" His head flicked around.

Ferra was quickly steadied by her partner as she found herself trading the lush scenery of Eterna Forest, where she'd just been on patrol, for the much harsher climate of a snow-laden mountain. Although a million questions jumped into her head at once - most importantly, how did I get here? - her instincts told her to figure out where she was before anything else. Continuing to hold her partner's hand, she deduced that she was probably still in the Sinnoh region; with the exception of a couple mountains in Johto, Alola, and the Indigo Plateau as well a chilly tundra in the south of the Galar region, there were few places as cold as the place she was currently located in.

A tug on her arm prompted her to swivel her head in her partner's direction. "What is it?" Ferra inquired, still scanning the snowy, pine forested area around her. "There. Is that not one of the three lakes, partner?" Turning to look where he was pointing, Ferra's eyes widened when she saw that her partner was correct. "You're right - we've been moved all the way to Lake Acuity!" That means that the path over there- the young girl glanced to her right, where a flattened line of snow led out of the area -must lead to Snowpoint City. She smiled. "Well-spotted, Grovyle," Ferra praised, glad that whatever had sent them all the way up to the northernmost city in Sinnoh had at least bothered to include her cherished partner as well.

Grovyle sighed as he took in the fact that something - a Pokemon, he suspected, though for the life of him he couldn't understand who or why - had teleported them to the freezing cold all of a sudden like this. "Why do you think we were called here?" he quietly asked Ferra, making sure to stay close to her.

Ferra shrugged, although Grovyle could tell that she had a number of theories already. "I've got no clue," she answered before turning to him. "But I bet we're in for a wild ride!" A quiet murmer of voices from a little ways away got Grovyle's attention, and he looked up to see that Ferra had heard it as well. Silently, they made their way around a few trees to see a small group of other kids, most appearing to be younger than herself.

"Odd group," Grovyle commented, earning a nod from Ferra as she quietly approached, planning to simply listen to the conversation until addressed.

----

"OOOOF!" Although it had been unpleasant, to say the least, to suddenly find himself face-first in a pile of snow, Felix figured it was better than most options when one is dumped someplace random out of the blue. Standing up, wincing a bit at the new bruises his short fall had given him, he dusted off stray flakes that had clung to his shirt when he realized that he wasn't the only one here. A bunch of other kids - most of which looked older than him, he realized to his dismay - had also appeared out of thin air. He shivered, feeling lucky that he was at least wearing long sleeves and pants.

"Uh, so, does anyone have literally any idea what's going on?" The young man realized he was still clutching a Heal Ball in his hand, and returned it quickly to his leather bag. "I was just about to start the appeals round of the Solaceon contest, but I suppose "I just got teleported to Snowpoint City" is a good enough excuse for missing my turn," Felix added dryly, looking around at the others. Although he was a bit miffed to miss out on a contest, he figured a potentially exciting adventure was a fair trade-off.

Now Xavier couldn't claim to be perfect. He was rather close, but not there. So it took him a minute before he registered the people around him. He tried to remember if they had been there when Mew spoke, but all that did was make him dizzy. He stumbled once, before clutching his head, and steadying himself. This time, he dug his boot into the snow with a crunch. He shoved his hands in his pockets, clutching the three Pokeballs, all in a row. There was a slight warmth that radiated from them, causing slight sparks of pain to go through his fingers. Still, he wrapped his stiff fingers around them tightly. His pokemon were his only friends, and he wouldn't let them go cold. See, he was selfless too. He looked around him with slow movements of his head. Looking back down at the ground, he spoke once more. He constantly blinked to keep the snow off of his eyelashes. "So...we are all here at the calling of Mew?" He paused when Felix spoke. "Obviously not, that's why I'm asking," he remarked dryly.

"I have no idea on what happening" Alex said from his boufalounts 'hair'. "but it looks like we need warmth, then we can think about what mew said." His head pulled into his bouffalant fur.

Honey called out venonat and placed him on her head. "c-c-cold" she still shivered.

Spiri was leaning against a wall as the genesis Pokémon spoke to them. She watched the pink Pokémon as it flew around them, forwarding the message from Arceus, or so it said. She ran a hand through her hair as she broke down the cat's words, replaying them in her mind. So they were to each protect a specific type of Pokémon? Sounded interesting...she had already guessed she would have been given fire, as she'd always had a fascination with the type, it seeming to connect with her almost spiritually, to the point where the only three Pokémon in her party were of the type. Fire was her personality as well, or so she'd been told; a burning fire not to be trifled with when angered, as well as a fiery passion, and determination to do whatever she set her mind on, not able to be quenched easily, an eternal flame. That was what her friends said to her.

Spiri hailed from Unova, and was already wearing a fluffy white coat to cope with the weather. Her side of the region got the coldest during Winter. She'd never minded, as her fire types made dealing with it easy. There were also the gloves she wore, shining silver in the light, to keep her hands toasty in any weather. She almost never took them off, even in summer, no one knew why, not even her...who really cared, though? They'd been given to her as a gift, and she remembered a deep appreciation upon receiving them.

Her deep blue eyes flickered in the direction of the other trainers transported, she watched them begin to speak, remaining quiet as was in her nature. She was never the one to initiate social interaction, never a leader, yet she wasn't always a follower either, especially with new people. She didn't like to call herself shy, just...observant. She sat in the corner, working on regaining her balance after the sudden transport for now, whilst taking note of all the trainers as well, judging them.

Eventually, Xavier realized that his feet were going numb. Obviously, these boots weren't made for snow. Coming from Sunnyshore City, he was never prepared for the cold. Of course, it was because he was perfectly prepared for everything that Sunnyshore City had to offer. But it wasn't his fault that Mew had decided to teleport him into Snowpoint City area, somewhere that he had never been before. Xavier's temper was coming out. Normally, obviously, he could keep it in check. He was perfectly capable of that. But when he was forced into a completely new environment, of course he wasn't going to be able to do it. So, it wasn't his fault that he said, "No, I don't. Are you going to completely depend on Pokemon? Using it for your own gain?"

Seeing that the conversation was beginning to head south, Ferra decided it was time to step in. "That's enough," she said calmly, walking a few paces forward to bring herself to the center of the group. "None of us were expecting to be teleported here by Mew, and while some of us are used to this climate and some are not, I'm sure we are meant to be working together." Motioning to the path she had spotted earlier, the Ranger continued. "It's not far to Snowpoint City from here. If it suits everyone, we could go and stay at the Pokemon Center there overnight to give everyone a chance to prepare, think things over, and rest.

"In the meantime," Ferra added, giving a smile to the boy on top of his Bouffalant, "I think it's a great idea to have our Pokemon warm us up a bit. We have to be careful not to get too cold." With that, she felt Grovyle snuggle a bit closer to her, and her smile grew slightly.

----

Felix huffed and rolled his eyes at the other kid's short answer, deciding to ignore him for the time being. He wasn't sure what on earth the weird pink thing had been talking about, but he got the feeling it was pretty urgent, and was all for a fun time climbing Mt. Coronet. He just hoped everyone else would have a fun time as well.

"I-I think going to Snowpoint City is a g-great idea," Felix said after a brief silence, noticing the cool older girl with the Grovyle. His teeth were beginning to chatter from the cold, but he forgot all about it when he spotted the gadget around the Grovyle girl's wrist. "Oooh, what's that watch thing? It looks like a Poketch, but way cooler," the coordinator said, having a liking for fancy accessories. As he asked, he decided to release one of his Pokemon for warmth as well, choosing to send out his Wigglytuff, which immediately enveloped him in a hug.

"Aww, hey big guy," Felix said with a laugh, patting his Pokemon's arm affectionately. "Thanks for the hug. Can I breathe now?" The pink Pokemon happily eased up, nuzzling his trainer as he did so.

"Okay" the bovain followed the girl, alex snuggling in its 'hair'.

Honey stood up her venonat still on her head dead asleep. "g-g-good i-i-idea" she steadily followed the group.

Lace rubbed the back of her neck with her hand, confused and still reeling from the sudden spatial displacement. She ran over the Mew's message in her head, again and again, trying to remember every word, reckoning that something said by a mythical Pokemon was likely worthwhile. The snow was continuing to pile atop her head with every passing moment. "I know only as much as I've been told," she shrugged. Noticing someone approaching out of the corner of her eye, she turned her head slightly and acknowledged the presence somewhat tall, black-haired young woman with a Grovyle at her side. Though her mind was slightly muddled, she did recall that she had been on her daily walk through the forest just outside her town. A brief flicker of panic rushed through her when she thought that perhaps her partner, Void, had been outside her PokeBall and therefore still back in Hoenn, but a glance to her right led her to find the Absol standing resolute at her side, as always. Knowing the Absol's fur was thick enough to keep it insulated from the cold, Lace refrained from calling it back. She, on the other hand, was shivering uncontrollably in a lightweight shirt and jeans with tears in them. In response to the others conversation, she added, "I agree. I assume we have quite a bit to discuss."

Spiri agreed they shouldn't let themselves freeze to death. She was wearing appropriate clothing to deal with the weather, but it was clear not all of them were. Acknowledging the black haired boy's words on the use of Pokémon, Spiri personally didn't consider it selfish to call upon a Pokémon's aide for something as simple as say, not freezing in the frigid mountaintops, but perhaps she simply thought differently than he, as she noticed happened rather often with her. By this point she had recovered from her shock, releasing her weight from the stone she'd been leaning on, and began slowly making her way closer to the group gathered, assuming they'd embark on the journey to the Pokémon Center soon.

Xaiver sighed. "It's better to keep your pokemon warm." When Ferra spoke up, he couldn't help but give her a sharp look. Was she one of those people, who tried to be nice to everyone? Why bother? It's not like everyone was going to be nice back to you. That was why Xaiver stuck with his pokemon. They were the only ones that could be trusted. "Fine, I suppose that could work." The only reason he wasn't getting out of here was because Mew had summoned him. Xavier wasn't stupid, he knew the status that Mew had. It could kill him where he stood if it wasn't so gentle. At least, that's what he had heard. "We should get a move on, I'm starting to wonder if I have any feet at all the way they're numbing." Of all the things to come out of his mouth, Xaiver wasn't expecting a joke. Was it a joke though? Xaiver didn't know, or care if he was being honest with himself. And Xaiver prided himself on being honest. He adjusted his scarf, pulling it over the lower part of his face. It was the only resemblance to winter gear that he owned.

Viola was walking through the snow. She's never been out of Galar before, so this was all new to her. Even with her pink hoodie and Booster on her head, keeping her warm, it was still reasonably cold. Sure she could just call out another Pokemon, but Booster was the only Pokemon she had that one, was a fire type, and two, knew fire type moves.

Booster wasn't even shivering a bit. Viola wondered if it was because of the fluffy neck fur and her tail keeping the fire Pokemon warm, or its flash fire ability. Every so often the Flareon would use Flamethrower, and absorb its flames for warmth.
