Melody sighed. "Alright, alright. Geez, you don't have to be so
gruff. You can't blame me for being a little excited. What's your
name then?" Melody wasn't sure how patient he would be with her,
but she couldn't help but be curious. Plus, this was the most
exciting thing she'd seen in awhile. She didn't want to mess this
up.
She rolled her eyes at the blonde. "Would you quit with the whole
'I don't have to?' I know I that I don't 'have too'-" Winnie made
air quotes. "-But I want to, okay? Now, my bedroom is the first
door on the left, down the hallway." She pointed at it. "Just go
in, and pick something you like."
Kieran felt his ears flick up. More learning! And about two very
interesting people - or a monster, in Darreon's case. Could you
still say people when if involved a monster? Kieran shoved the
thought aside and listened. He tapped his paws on the rooftop tiles
like drumming, a habit of his.
Nightmare slithered undergorund, all 70 feet of him shiny even
though the dirt slid across his thick scales “hum diddly dum” he
hissed, his voice like a roar as he dug deeper. Another burrowing
serpent crossed his path, but with one snap of his side pincers,
the snake was turned to a shriveled corpse. He slithered deeper
into the earth, before brimming his head on the ground. He poked
his sickly head out of the ground, his cranium the size of a tree.
He glared around, his bloodshot eyes staring into the souls around
him “which one... would taste the best?” He hissed, slowly
slithering all the way out, his nightmarish being intensely large.
He opened his mouth, then his pincers, and brothe slowly, closing
his eyes “something doesn’t taste right... it tastes like new
people” he growled, moving his large head to glare at a distant
cluster “my lucky day” he grinned, starting to move “new people
don’t know to avoid me, nightmare ‘killer of pure life’, ha!”
Winnie was already in the kitchen, digging through the many,
many leftovers in the fridge. Even to this day, it still
boggled her how and why her dad would cook enough food to hold an
entire banquet. The only thing that boggled her more, was how it
all fit in the fridge. She heard footsteps, and glanced at Charlie
from behind.
He journeyed across the street, as every citizen hud, his presence
known. He coiled slowly, inspecting houses, wondering where the new
scent was coming from. He could swear it was coming from... this
one. He grinned, and coiled his mass around the house “come out” he
rumbled “come out little snacks”
Reaching into the back of the fridge, Winnie grabbed a pan of
lasagna. She turned around to hold it up to Charlie.
"Well then, is lasagna oka-" She stopped when she noticed the other
girl's misty eyes. She was about to ask her about it, when
suddenly, she heard a voice from outside. "Uhh...what was that?"
Winnie asked.
Melody grinned. "Because I want to make conversation, that's why!
And if it makes you feel any better, my name is Melody! So, what's
your name? I mean, you don't have to say it if you don't want to,
but it would be nice to know the name of the person that I'm
chatting with!"
He put his massive head to the window “hi girlies” he growled, his
eyes flaring “you look like delicious food” he said, his coils
tightening around the house
“Big mistake” he grinned, un-curling around the house, and
slithering at her, his massive self emanating a sharp and painful
aura “it’s time to finish the job on you, Charlie the orphan!”
“You’re not too nice” he ssid, his adrenaline stopping the pain as
he rose his head to leave her strike range “a knife won’t hurt a
beats like me, sweetie”
"W-what the...?" Winnie stuttered, staring at the creature. She
hesitantly reached her phone, for some reason believing calling
someone for help. The creature's head was MASSIVE, so could it even
get inside? She certainly hoped not. Her shaking fingers tried
dialing her parents.
