Crystalwares is a relatively new and small company that arrived in the Alola region just over a year ago, researching the local Z-Crystals. Recently, they put out an advertisement looking for trainers to test their new product - the Z-Band - which was created to enhance the power of Z-Crystal. However, due to the stage of development, the Z-Crystal inhabiting the band is currently not interchangeable. Therefore, Crystalwares is asking for eighteen volunteers to test the product.
However, what seemed to be an innocent project, turns out to be something much worrying. Controlled by a group called Team Prizm, the company have created a device which latches onto the user, causing the energy of the Z-Crystal to be 'absorbed' by them and allowing humans to also use Z-Moves. Their ultimate goal is to create the Prizium-Z: a weapon: a fusion of all the elemental Z-Crystals. But first, they need the data from their proto-types.
Not long after receiving the Z-Band, the lab is in dire need of evacuation. You barely make it out before the building erupts into flames, smoke quickly flooding the area where the lab once sat making it harder to locate your peers. However, the Z-Crystal on your wrist shines brightly. It's the last thing you see before passing out.
The next thing you know, you awaken and in front of you is a Pokemon that is not yours. The weirdest thing is that you can understand everything it says and it seems to sense danger nearby.
Rules / Notes
PH rules apply
Sentence/paragraph format please, doesn't have to be detailed but refrain from over-using one-liners
Characters are to be 16+
No duplicate Z-Crystals*; Limited spaces (18) for 'main' characters
There will be three spaces open for Team Prizm admins
You may use your Z-Move once a day - does not carry over - but pokemon may use them once per battle
Partner pokemon must be a basic stage evolution (can evolve later) and match the typing of your Z-Crystal
Your partner pokemon is also - technically - wild; refuses a Pokeball but will travel and fight by your side
For the sake of the story, you'll start off with your partner pokemon only, and may gain a further 6
You may use megas (1) and dynamaxing (once per battle) is allowed but, please, no legends/mythicals
Relationships are allowed as long as they do not become the focus
*Prizm Admins may also use Z-Crystals but are not counted towards the limited spaces

Takara is capable of keeping up a confident, professional display when need-be and only lets her closest associates see her scatterbrained self. She's driven by a false-desire, manifested by her father's ex-colleagues who pushed her to pursue his studies after inheriting his notes when he died during an experiment. Ultimately, Oria is no more than a naive pawn being manipulated by a higher power who wish to have such a weapon in their own control.
Other:
Oria grew up in Laverre City, Kalos. She has never been on a journey and her Carbink has been her only pokemon until recently, thus does not have much experience in battling etc. The remainder of her team will eventually fully evolve.

Appearance: Black hair that hangs in waves over her shoulders, with red tips. Her right eye is crimson, her left a chocolate brown. Her build is willowy - tall, with not much muscle, and very thin. She is seen wearing a baggy black t-shirt and loose grey jeans, never anything else. A snake tattoo coils around her neck, and another tattoo of a filled-in circle sits on her right wrist.
Personality: Glum at the happiest of times, she is never anything but annoyed. She tends to keep her thoughts to herself, preferring to act alone, though she can sometimes be rash and aggressive when defending things.

But you and your partner will have more of an Ash-Pikachu bond, if you get what I mean
