"This might have been where some of the questing cats went!" Miko
exclaimed, slinking back into the shadows, assuming the others
would follow. The smell of fire and smoke was up ahead. She wasn't
referrig to the most recent group, but Starlight had come back
tired, and she never went out alone, which meant... "Guys, we
better hurry up!"
"Lets investigate the smell!" Alex announced, and ran down the
tunnel, not bothering to wait. He collected maybe 20 coins along
the way... this had to be a commonly traveled route or some sort of
lair if there were so many dropped coins.
Lyra hurried after them, and halted just as thay halted. They were
looking at the same thing, what looked to be the inside of a
volcano and it looked as if there were dragons flying in the air
all around pools of lava. If was scary but they all had to stay
strong to maybe save some cats.
Up ahead were the sounds of two other cats. They were yowling and
fighting a big red and greed wyvern. It blasted fire at them as the
other cats, unable to be identified against the shadows, yowled and
unleashed their attacks. The attack on one was a love heart, and
the other was a blast of fire. Miko made a guess on who she though
the cats were and jumped in, unleashing a blue fire blast from the
shadows at the dragon, then proceeded to swipe at it constantly,
widdling it down.
Alex charged into battle, swiping at the dragons, and using small
jolts of electricity to shock, surprise and attack the dragons. It
wasn't a lot of electricity, but Alex had learned that even a small
amount was enough to shock someone, even a little. The dragon he
fought screeched loudly and landed in surprise, swiping at him.
Alex craftily leaped onto it's back and heated his paws with fire,
hoping it would work and hoping it would be unseen by the other
cats. He didn't know how much fire would do to a dragon, but it
worked on this one. The dragon screeched again from the pain from
the heat, and flapped wildly, trying to knock him off..
Lyra quickly used boom boom bow move at the dragon before it had
time to react, now she understood why they wanted an archer, the
dragon might try to get in the air and the bow and arrow will still
be able to hit it. After that she unsheathed her claws and tried a
quick attack with her claws, right after her shot with the bow and
arrow.
Miko couldn't wait to find an ember and evolve, but for now..she
used the magic and aimed for the dragon's head, right as the other
two cats used their spells, bringing the dragon down. Four more to
go. Sticking to the shadows, Miko attacked another mostly unhurt
dragon from behind, swiping furiously. It turned around and shot a
blast of fire in her face, causing her magic to charge slower
again. Furious now, she slipped to the other side of the dragon and
swiped at it's wing, unbalancing it.
The dragon got higher and higher, and Alex wondered if this is what
flying was like. Writhing and shaking, the dragon tried to buck
Alex off his back, like a bull. They were nearly at the top of the
cave, and Alex knew he had to find a more efficient way to harm the
dragon. Thinking quickly on his feet, he spotted a stalagtite of
the roof of the cave, right above him. It looked like it could fall
any moment... an idea struck his mind, and quickly, he leaped off
the dragon, and grabbed hold of the large rock spike. With his
added weight, the rock spear fell, striking the dragon's back, and
impaling it. It screetched, and fell to the ground. Alex let go of
the spire, and landed on all fours, scratched and with tired feet
from the fall, but otherwise ok.
That left three dragons left. One of which the other two cats were
battling. And one was Miko's dragon. He spell charged and she cast
it, slashing at the dragon's face with a dark and fiery swipe. This
knocked it out, leaving Miko panting, and she went to join her
unknown guildmates with their dragon, leaving one more left no one
was fighting, which turned to Lyra and Alex.
Alex panted as he bravely stared down the final dragon. It was a
lot larger than the one he had fought... slower too, which meant
that... Another idea popped into his head. He charged at the
dragon, surprising it, and begain weaving through his legs,
distracting it. Because of his small size and nimbleness, it wasn't
too difficult to dodge the dragon's stomps, though he was tiring.
"He's open for attack!" He yelled at his quest mates. They had to
learn to fight together, and Alex though this would be a good way
to start.
"Are you okay though?" Asked Lyra. She didn't feel as opposed to
him as she first did, but that was probably because they were on a
quest and she didn't want him to die. She kept hitting the dragon
with her arrow attacks, as many times as she could. Soon though she
ran out of arrows, Oh no! she thought.
Soon, The three finished with their dragon, turning to help with
the final wave. One of the unknown cats touched the arrow bag, and
magically resupplied the arrows. The other shot a heart-shaped
magical attack at the dragon, and Miko fired her slash attack,
knocking it back.
Alex wondered who the other cats were, but not for long, there was
no time for that. Alex knew all of the cats would be needed for the
final wave, no matter how annoying (cough*Lyra*cough) (and yet
another reason why more cats should fight dragons at once). He was
fueled with determination and anger. These dragons had attacked
guild cats! Reminding himself of a reason to fight, he leaps at the
dragon. He wonders if dragon scales are metalic, or if they at
least conduct, some electricity... He summons some electricity and
slashes the scales letting of a flash of bright light in the dark
cave, and making the dragon hesitate for a moment and roar.
Lyra quickly shot a few more arrows at the dragon, trying to get
its health down enough so that one of the others could hit it with
a final shot. Then she stood back to wait for someone to go do the
final blow, she hoped it could be someone who would have a really
high chance of hitting it.
All of the cats' spells were at full, one of the cats, a female
voice, yowled. "Everybody cast your spells now! We need to hit it
with on big attack!" The pink heart spell started to pulse, the
other charged their fire, and Miko charged her demon dark attack.
The voice yelled again "On three! One, two..."
Alex, still clinging to the dragon scales heard the cat, and
thought creatively. He grabbed an arrow that had fallen off the
dragon, and pushed it between the dragon scales. "3!" He heard, and
he discharged as much electricity as he could into the metalic
point. He smiled with satisfaction, knowing his plan had worked.
The fire was shot, then the heart, then the dark slash, causing
Miko to fly at the dragon and swipe at its face. The dragon was not
taking the attacks well, and it was close to being finished off
Alex quickly jumped off the dragon, not wanting to be hit by any of
the attacks heading towards it. He leaped to the ground, landing
safely on all fours, but not before sending another fireball to
it's face. But by this time, Alex was exhausted. He had never used
this many elemental attacks before, and his mind was tired too. As
soon as he landed, he promptly collapsed.
Lyra rushed over to him and looked at him, he only looked exausted.
Phew thought Lyra, then she remembered that she had a potion
that she found lying next to the cauldron, it could restore
strength, so she made Alex drink it. Then she waited for him to get
up...
