When clicking in the Union Room I had the pop up thing that asks you to choose the correct Pokémon, and after choosing the corresponding one, I was told it was wrong?? ‘Better luck next time!’
I’m not sure if it matters, but after recent drama, I worry. Thank you.
For reference, I am currently on mobile. I wasn’t sure if it mattered so I didn’t put it under the mobile bugs.
(Also, I don’t know technical terms. Sorry if this sounded stupid.)

Based off the context I think that even outside of SCS you should still be fine, and you shouldn't really be worried so much about being flagged down. Personally, I've gotten a good handful wrong even outside of SCSs because of misclicks and whatnot and I've been fine. These captchas aren't really the main reliable method used that would be catching bots, but I'm sure they would help in some way be a determining factor if one would be a bot or not.
