Hey.

Im new to the game, and was wondering, how does one obtain shiny pokemon?

You can gain shinies through various different ways:
1. The most generic way is to chain using the pokeradar (bought in the item shop) - just turn the radar on and continuously hatch one pokemon to increase the chances of a shiny happening.
2. They can technically randomly occur if your egg isn't shiny-locked.
3. A few pokemon e.g. ho-oh are special and obtaining their shinies is much harder and require tons of luck (shiny ho-oh can be obtained by chance from the shiny wonder trade codes).
