"We can take him. Doesn't he have a Pikachu? We'll just need ground type moves. Like bone rush." Mel said, crossing her arms. "I've always done better just winging it, but it's your call." She said, glancing at Tiger and Mira.

Victor was soon engaged in a gym battle with Bugsy.
It was a 2 vs 2 battle. Victor started with Blaze (as promised to him earlier) and Bugsy sent out Kakuna.
Kakuna first used string shot and Blaze attacked with Ember. Kakuna used harden but it didn’t have much effect since Ember was a special move.

(Sorry if the battle seems half baked but I'm feeling lazy...)

"that's an awful plan" Tiger mumbled lowly. "Team Rocket's base is rigged with traps? There's cameras, pit falls, and ambushes laying in wait all over the base" he sighed.

(I added the pit falls while watching the indigo league Pokémon anime. Rocket was very dumb with their first pit fall...)
